Kind of close but not really. Smith tags Shaw with a few solid shots to start it off, Shaw comes back with a few hits but all it seems to do is piss off Smith. Smith absorbs a few weak hits before landing an uppercut, and refs jump in right before Smith beats Shaw into game 6.

Smith dominated Shaw. Fight was stopped by linesman. Give Smith the TKO

Great scrap in the Playoffs, man is Smith tough.

I like those spontaneous fights that are fueled by passion and energy. Old school (70s-90s) playoff action.

Smith proved to Montreal he'll fight and he's pretty good at landing head blows!

Posted by dogginit on April 20, 2017 at 08:10 PM

Draw.. Rangers have no defense for Ott, When you don't have a heavy hitter on your team this is what happens and theres nothing the Rangers are going to do about it.

Smith does enough for the win

Steve Ott reinforces his rep as the world's biggest douche

Smith Wins easily

Posted by Viper207 on April 26, 2017 at 05:53 PM

Things were getting nasty during that shift, these were two teams trading for the playoff intensity. It worked.

smith landed some solid shots on smaller shaw but shaw surprised him with couple good shots as well.linesmen jumped in to save shaw when he got jersey over his head but it was draw until that point...draw and 6 and ott was at the beginning of it again.gotta love him

Nice to see someone helping their goalie out hen he gets run over

Posted by KentuckyJet on April 25, 2017 at 02:26 PM

excellent fight in the beginning.

Posted by GR44 on April 21, 2017 at 08:25 AM

Smith in the win.

Posted by Great Murray on May 08, 2017 at 05:40 PM

Every hard punch was landed by Smith...tough kid. Way too much for a pest like Shaw.

Posted by rcm2702 on April 20, 2017 at 08:43 PM

Smith!

Posted by bigmike53 on April 23, 2017 at 10:47 PM

Smith outpoints Shaw to pick up the narrow win.

Posted by bhamill on April 21, 2017 at 10:47 AM

Ott is trash. Tried to kick Zuccarello last game as well. Some players have no respect for the well being of their fellow players or the spirit of the game.

Posted by demonhead6 on April 21, 2017 at 11:53 AM

Funny how Ott is less brazen in his dirtiness when Tanner Glass is in the game. Not too many serious punches landing here, but Smith with most connecting.

Posted by lucic17 on April 20, 2017 at 11:11 PM

Going with what gsrae said but giving it a 5. And Ott is such a dirty prick. Hopefully a Ranger saw that and maybe eventually he pays for it. Doubtful but I can dream

Posted by WhyGo77 on April 21, 2017 at 12:30 AM

It was a good close fight until Smith landed a big one at the end. Smith 6.

Atta babe! Love playoff hockey!

Posted by smichaels10 on April 21, 2017 at 04:39 PM

Win Smith. Fucking refs got in there way too quickly.

Posted by jesnorth on April 22, 2017 at 12:25 PM

Kudos to Montreal for putting together a line which features the biggest scumbags in the league. The worst thing that you can do to the Rangers is wake them up. See you next year Habs

Posted by Let them FIGHT on April 23, 2017 at 02:05 AM

Good fight! Natural and spontaneous anger expressing itself like it should. Smith landed 3 head shots to 1, then lands a nice upper cut at the end. Niccce....

Posted by adamlat1 on April 21, 2017 at 10:13 PM

Props to shaw for sticking with it after taking those first two very solid punches to the eye. He may have got a few in but the win definitely goes to smith. Looks like he may have even got his uppercut in as the linesmen stopped it. P.S. Look at that dirty rat Ott trying to dig into Hank . Worst goon in the league

Posted by gsrae on April 20, 2017 at 09:22 PM

Both guys landed a few. Smith tagged Shawn few more including a big hit at the end of the fight. Close fight but win to Smith and a 6

Posted by Jellyczar on April 22, 2017 at 01:32 PM

Ott stinks ... Shaw is a punk and can't fight, and the Habs will lose.

Posted by RichterNYR35 on April 21, 2017 at 03:23 AM

Smith with the edge. Give it a 6

Posted by jnc_927 on April 21, 2017 at 12:47 AM

easy win smith... philly is a dirty dirty city! philly, where the girls have beards and the guys have vagina's.

Posted by SpeedOften on April 24, 2017 at 09:30 AM

Smith won with an uppercut at the end after pulling Shaw's sweater up.

Posted by nickyfotiu on April 23, 2017 at 11:19 AM

Smith is tough, willing to mix it up. Win and great job making someone in the crease pay. This team needs much more of it. dogginit is correct in his assessment. It would be nice to get Glass in the lineup, he did a good job of neutralizing Ott and Shaw in the first two games. Glass would have pounded anyone in the Habs' lineup - save maybe Weber - Tim Gleason-style from a few years ago.

Posted by kancunstatus35 on April 20, 2017 at 11:39 PM

I hate when the linesmen stop the fight too soon which is the case most of the time nowadays...really annoys me lol. Smith had Shaw's jersey over his head and coulda KO'd him if the linesmen didn't get involved.

Posted by loneranger on April 26, 2017 at 09:58 PM

someone called this a "narrow" win for Smith? Ask Shaw how narrow that was. Smith pounded the piss out of Shaw and if you can't see it you're nuts

Posted by Infidels on April 22, 2017 at 02:52 PM

Linesmen save Shaw from annihilation

Posted by snowcloud on April 21, 2017 at 02:11 PM

Get 'em, Smitty!!!

Posted by ptrac30 on April 21, 2017 at 08:49 AM

Three punishing blows from Smith on an overly eager Shaw were clearly the dominant part of this fight. Shaw was stunned and hung on after that. Smith was eager to defend his goaltender and establish a tone against notorious dirty pest Shaw. Nice win for Smith.

Shawzie

Hey kdmaddope you old bone smuggler right on the money. If anyone knows anything about getting blasted it's you duck lips

Posted by GSP09 on April 21, 2017 at 03:29 PM

Shaw gives about 50 pds and 3 inches and still gives him a good fight.

Posted by jonahbuxton on April 21, 2017 at 03:55 PM

smith eeks it out in 5 straight spirit

Posted by rangers16 on April 20, 2017 at 07:52 PM

Smih feeds shaw his lunch. Ott continues to be a rat

Posted by JG17 on April 20, 2017 at 10:11 PM

Quite a few Rangers homers voting I see.

Hey Putzzo, check out my post of March 9. Love to meet you on the outside. Punk.

Posted by jcstokes on April 21, 2017 at 12:04 AM

Smith feed him breakfast, lunch, dinner and supper. Close to TKO.

Posted by sup_dano on April 21, 2017 at 10:45 AM

I think both fighters could have used the jab more with the mutual hand position inside front of collar.

rangers16 needs glasses.

Posted by Detroit_Caps on April 20, 2017 at 08:42 PM

Since the only thing MSG showed was slow motion punches from Brendan Smith . . , I gotta go Shaw until a better video is up

Posted by ironbar44 on April 21, 2017 at 08:55 AM

SMITH landed a beauty first punch.then was almost out muscled by the little fella .SHAW back at him maybe SMITH thought as i did.after landing that first one it was over .

Posted by Bill Tubman on April 21, 2017 at 12:12 AM

Smith (a wannabe) shouldn't be in the same league as Shaw.
