Unfortunantly I did not DVR this game so I had to watch this fight here. Direct TV now gives us the choice....awesome...no Edwards. Alas and ALack not this time...Edwards hasn't gotten any better...Miller landed 206 overhand rights and 16 uppercuts. They buried Vitale in the parking lot right after the game...beautiful service...the organist played some lovely music...Edwards was guest soloist playing the Miller Flute (you figure that out) In reality is was one of the better fights we've seen. Vitale, though giving up a little size, did OK early. Miller dominated the last half of the fight and then rang Vitale's bell with several big shots...awesome fight boys! Vitale is in need of some repairs but he will live. Thanks Boys!!! Miller and a 7

Posted by kkdowning on October 18, 2015 at 10:47 AM

Vitale started out pretty well and then things turned bad for him. Kevan Miller is a better fighter than many people think. Why all the Jack Edwards hating? He seems like a reasonable fellow to me.

Posted by scorp1on on October 18, 2015 at 09:33 AM

Miller with the better helmet.

Posted by hal29 on October 18, 2015 at 01:48 AM

Vitale gets the jump before miller's gloves are off but miller comes back and lands some beauty of some punches. Miller is one tough kid and the only real spark on the team. Who voted Vitale? Even a blind man can see he got his a$$ kicked.

Posted by Jez-x on October 18, 2015 at 09:51 AM

As a Bruin fan Jack Edwards is awesome, all heart for this team, and Miller destroys Vitale.PS get rid of Rinaldo,we don't need this washed up loser.

Posted by boldbilly on October 18, 2015 at 02:53 AM

Miller completely destroys Joe Vitale....scored it a 7 Vitale lands some but Millers land and hurt more.....lots more. Seriously ! what an idiot Jack Edwards Try this experiment...... First watch the fight with sound.....then mute it.... You need to do it in that order to get my point. Yes it is a beating Vitale takes but nowhere near the hype and the hysteria that little pencil neck describes it......I guess her panties were wet after that one......holy crap.....embarassing

Posted by adamv2326 on October 18, 2015 at 12:45 AM

Miller knocked Vitale out of the game, clear winner of the bout especially with that last punch.

Posted by Behn Wilson on October 18, 2015 at 08:19 AM

Jack Edwards is in fine form (and by fine I mean "homeratious") as he exaggeratedly riffs on what was already a serious beat down Looked like broken nose finish to me Seems too obvious but is Miller related to the Jay variety in more ways than punching prowess?

Posted by King of Goons on October 18, 2015 at 02:16 AM

Gotta love Jack Edwards. Guy should have been a Carnival Barker. He definitely missed his calling. Vitale got his a$$ kicked. I think Miller even let up on him at the end, seeing he was pretty defenseless. Vitale is a pr*ck who's has this coming for awhile. Pretty funny stuff.

Posted by dean94harrison on October 18, 2015 at 05:32 PM

Obviously he lost, but I'm giving it to Vitale anyway, because fuck Jack Edwards.

Posted by Humper on October 18, 2015 at 04:19 PM

Vitale's decision to go toe-to-toe rather than showing some defensive prowess did wonders for the entertainment value of this bout. Did not do much good for his face, however.

Posted by gsrae on October 19, 2015 at 05:10 PM

Not even close. Miller with the Win

Posted by johnnyrock555 on October 28, 2015 at 07:58 PM

Vitale should take a fighting class or two. As soon as Miller grabbed Vitale you could see Vitalle had no idea what do, had a hard time standing up before the punches tarted landing.

Posted by bigmike53 on October 18, 2015 at 04:19 AM

Miller is the real deal as Vitale quickly found out. Nice scrap until Miller puts on the "finishing touches" on Vitale's face at the end of the scrap. Win Miller.

Posted by doobi1 on October 19, 2015 at 01:12 AM

Good scrap with Miller getting in the better of the shots. Love Vitale's gut it out attempt. WIN to Miller.

Posted by cycle on October 18, 2015 at 01:19 AM

it was a good thing Miller stopped punching after he landed that last one

Posted by mainsail on November 28, 2015 at 11:52 AM

All Miller. How the hell do people say Miller was a "bigger fighter?" Vitale is listed as being 2 lbs heavier than Miller and Miller 2" taller...that's a "bigger fighter?" I guess we'll have to start taking height and weight measurements before guys are allowed to drop the gloves.

Posted by von_swine on October 18, 2015 at 01:51 PM

somehow Vitale hangs HIMSELF out to dry (with some bad defense) and Miller makes him pay the 'Iron Price', repeatedly, with some of the best connects to the face we've seen in recent memory... somewhere in Glendale, Az. this week there's a guy wearing sunglasses indoors, and his name is Joe...lol #86 FTW

Posted by npa312 on January 26, 2016 at 06:08 PM

I am more sick of people complaining about Jack Edwards than his actual play by play. He gives exciting, high energy and over-the-top calls. He's not nearly as biased as people make him out to be. Sure he's a homer but he typically gives credit where credit is do. If a Bruins' player takes a blow he'll get just as amped. "And Lucic gets hammered in the face!". This is one of the more lopsided bouts i've seen recently, and it doesn't bother me when I hear "Miller is using Vitale's face as a punching bag" because he essentially was.

Posted by CrossCheck on October 22, 2015 at 01:37 PM

Well Mr. Vitale, that was an ass whipping. Kudos for staying in there and absorbing some sizzling straight rights to the face. Many a men would have dropped but you took your beating in stride. I would love to see a rematch. FOTY so far. Punishing rights from Miller.

Posted by Walt on October 19, 2015 at 05:56 PM

Miller is one tough dude.

Posted by shane0mack on October 23, 2015 at 11:26 AM

Not sure why this fight is rating at a 7.5 when it's nothing more than a 5. Barely any punches land by either side, arguably none by Vitale. Didn't last very long and there was no blood, tko, or anything, just a stinger at the end. I was let down expecting to see a great fight and only getting a couple of angsty kids on the playground.

Posted by Dammit-Man on October 18, 2015 at 12:13 AM

Miller Time!

Posted by NAILS13 on October 19, 2015 at 01:26 AM

I have two points to make here: 1) What class Miller displays after knowing he rang Vitale's bell with a finishing move by just holding on to the jersey and letting him lean on his sleeve. 2) Jack Edwards haters should try and imagine what it would be like to have a homer like him on your side. It's AWESOME. He's like Bob Ueker. He's hilarious. I love him even more when he's fluffing the pillows.

Posted by jferguson on October 24, 2015 at 01:05 PM

I'll give him this: Vitale doesn't have a glass jaw....otherwise they'd still be cleaning it up.

Posted by beitel21 on October 29, 2015 at 12:48 PM

ehh.. im growing tired of seeing 2 men fight with visors on. If you get caught in a bad position just drop your chin down, fist goes into a shield made for deflecting pucks and sticks, hence the puncher takes all the pain. Hockey is such a tough sport I don't know why there's not penalties for fighting with a visor on. The same principal with helmets on during fights, wouldn't a solid punch to the face or head be less severe in most cases than a fist hitting a helmet or visor

Posted by first 6 on October 21, 2015 at 10:37 PM

Damn visors. Win Miller.

Posted by Crazy Rabbi on October 18, 2015 at 05:41 PM

Although Vitale is a capable fighter, this was a hammering, plain and simple.

Injured reserve for Vitale's mistake to take on Miller

Posted by arabhata on October 18, 2015 at 08:36 AM

Miller didn't even get both his gloves off. Can't remember the last time I saw that many clean landing shots. Thought Vitale was tougher than that. Dominating win by Miller.

Posted by U wanna go? on January 23, 2016 at 02:12 AM

Vitale eats a few right hands!!

Posted by ruger1 on October 20, 2015 at 05:42 PM

My goodness that was a beating. Miller in pure domination. I think he started to feel bad for punching vitale so many times towards the end.

Posted by Bitaken on October 18, 2015 at 03:17 PM

If Vitale was mic'd up he was whispering: "Please, don't hit me again!"

Posted by Longshank on October 18, 2015 at 08:10 PM

Miller throwing Probert style jackhammers. Devastating last punch after being thrown about like a rag doll in preparation for clean delivery. Credit to Vitale for not caving to the floor and Miller for holding back on what was obviously a beaten man. Millers got muscle.

Posted by Mark Kuto on October 19, 2015 at 12:13 AM

A good example of why fighting still belongs in the NHL. Arizona cheap shots and triple-teams a Boston player, and then Vitale pays the price when Miller steps in to defend. End of escalation and stick work on both sides. Miller doing his job - and well.

Posted by hockeyrules999 on October 18, 2015 at 10:18 PM

Oh this is why Miller has an NHL job! Now I know! Cam must be happy having him as a #1D!

Posted by Mounty in NC on November 27, 2015 at 07:56 PM

Miller landed some major blows to Vitale's face....but this shouldn't surprise anyone, Miller's almost doubled Vitale in fighting majors plus he has the reach and a little more weight. Good bought though....glad they got going before the officials had time to break it up!

Posted by sjpreston18 on December 30, 2015 at 12:58 AM

How is this currently at a 7.4? Decent fight but really, what have we been reduced to these days? Easy win for Miller at a 6. Props to Vitale for eating a few and not going down

Posted by Matt14c on December 24, 2015 at 07:21 PM

Not sure how two guys punching each other's visors could be fight of the year..... New NHL 👎🏻

Posted by Jim02351 on October 18, 2015 at 03:01 AM

Solid shot by Miller ends fight, sends Vitale to hospital for X-Ray's. Clear winner...Miller!

Posted by Biggus on October 22, 2015 at 06:15 PM

Miller shows how quick his right jab is. Gets the helmet/visor early on, and when the lid pops off, Vitale is in trouble. On the last one, Vitale did not even move, and was not throwing back. It was like he did not even see it (but I am sure he felt it). All Miller and a 7.

Posted by Jaxon on October 18, 2015 at 10:25 AM

Tooled ! Seems tpr1960 watched a totally different fight. Fight was close? lol. U R prob the 1 vote on here for Vitale! And your grade-school comment reflects lotsa class. POS.

Posted by bruinintexas on October 18, 2015 at 06:37 AM

Seems like Miller didn't even realize they were fighting until Vitale just started throwing. Wrong dude Joe, don't think he realized how tough Miller is until it was too late. All KM

Posted by avulsion on October 18, 2015 at 12:24 PM

Seriously, who voted for Vitale?

Posted by travist on October 20, 2015 at 01:49 PM

showing true character, miller knew he tagged vitale good with that last shot, so he held up. he could have landed another solid upper cut.

Posted by kari takko on October 18, 2015 at 12:43 PM

10 - Great fight. Total Domination by Miller. Gave it a ten for Miller laying off after the last face-wreck land.

Posted by ssully1618 on October 18, 2015 at 02:27 PM

Posted by dcmac on October 18, 2015 at 02:34 PM

Miller cut Vitale some slack, obviously he held back punches toward the end of the bout.

Posted by RyanU on May 11, 2016 at 12:26 AM

Vitale was no chance, Miller too big and strong. Jack Edwards sucks.

Posted by Canner on October 18, 2015 at 01:04 AM

Miller, who looks like he's got an iron lung, enlists the Travis Moen from his arsenal and leaves Joe wondering who's on first.....

Posted by Goaltender on October 18, 2015 at 06:36 PM

Hahahaha...The Arizona Coyotes announce that Vitalie ha and "upper body injury" and their coach says he will "miss some time". I guess that technically a broken face is considered an "upper body injury".

Posted by Ecce72 on October 18, 2015 at 05:56 AM

Miller is scary...maybe the strongest and also the fitest guy on the team. Add the fighting skills he has....just scary

Posted by mtchbx on October 18, 2015 at 11:01 AM

Vitale okay until his helmet came off. Good night.

Posted by crowmanvt on October 18, 2015 at 03:15 PM

Didn't really see Vitale land anything of significance. I'd almost label this a TKO because it sure looks like Miller stops throwing after that hard right to the side of the face and before the refs actually stepped in.

Posted by Brewri on October 18, 2015 at 09:54 AM

Miller finally gave the Bruins their first fight on the season last night against Arizona. Miller is one of the strongest and youngest players on the roster and he showed it last night with his fists. Vitale gets a few punches off early before MIller gets his gloves off. Once they separate themselves from the mob of players along the board Miller goes to work on Vitale's face. He lands several big shots including one at the end that took Vitale out of the game and may have broken his nose. Miller wins in an incredibly lopsided bout. 7/10.

Posted by Orielly on February 21, 2016 at 09:36 AM

Posted by destructdestroy on October 21, 2015 at 05:46 AM

Miller had Vitale's punching arm immobilized from reaching his face and Miller's reach enabled him to score punches at will. Very impressive fight for Miller.

Fuk Yoplait!!! But a great scrap! Nice rights planted by Miller on Vitale's left eye socket!

Posted by F_CKERS on October 18, 2015 at 02:32 PM

Best fight of the night! Miller Lite takes this one. He busted Vi-tallywackers visor in the process. Joe Blow was even pulling hair at one point. I loved when Miller Lite takes one to the visor and it doesn't even phase him. Visors suck!

Posted by GoonVisor on October 19, 2015 at 11:17 AM

Vitale acted like a heavy and brought on the beating himself. Writing checks that you can't cover is no way to do business. TKO-domination

Posted by English_Bruin on October 18, 2015 at 05:10 AM

Vitale got tuned good and proper there. Miller picks his shots and almost everyone hit the target, that last one hurt. Was funny seeing Spooner fall over at the start :o

Miller puts Vitale on queer street, not a difficult thing to do but nice to see.

Posted by Robbie1973 on October 19, 2015 at 08:22 PM

It's not very often you see someone skating away looking deflated and just beaten up...Vitale did both. That being said, I would have simply curled up in a ball and waited for it all to end so kudos to him for not going for the hug.

Posted by MichaelFlyers37 on October 18, 2015 at 04:42 PM

This kevan Miller can really fight. He gets the in my opinion the TKO. That last punch did him in and it had to be stopped. Still made beef stew and have to hit the bathroom folks. Good day gentlemen

Posted by hubofhockey on October 18, 2015 at 01:28 PM

If you don't kno, Miller is absolutely jacked so if he hits you it's going to hurt and Vitale found that out the hard way. Decisive win for miller

Posted by onthebutton on October 22, 2015 at 05:23 AM

Maybe Jack Edwards wasn't embellishing so much on his call of the fight. Vitale is now on IR because of it. Upper body injury - my guess is concussion. Miller is a tough hombre.

Posted by Mpls720 on October 20, 2015 at 01:53 PM

Added style points for ringing Vitale's bell after throwing the first punch before Miller's gloves were off. Hate to see a guy get hurt, but that was earned given the etiquette infraction.

Posted by BBB77 on October 20, 2015 at 03:53 PM

Vitale outmatched by Miller, hung in there but Miller just too strong.

Posted by ballardgreg on October 21, 2015 at 07:50 PM

Once Miller knew he was really hurt he stopped throwing. Good thing for Vitale. Good scrap though.

Posted by DARCY T on November 10, 2015 at 06:37 AM

great exchange but miller's punches were more accurate and more powerful.win miller i'd love to have vitale on my teamv though.he dont fight a lot but his fights are always entertaining and here he didnt back down from a bigger fighter with some good fights on his fight card.and it looks like he stayed in penalty box for 5 minutes with his face injured before he left the game.he's tough miller ended the fight though with his last punch and i wouldnt argue if someone called it a ko edit:he hasnt played since

Posted by tenmike on October 20, 2015 at 11:49 AM

Vitale put up a gutsy fight but was clearly overmatched. Miller let up on the poor kid and could have hurt him much worse than he already did. Miller can fight.

Posted by cob1963 on October 25, 2015 at 03:41 AM

Boys were slinging, fist to cuffs, solders! Miller had the better connections.

Miller with the win and Edwards is still a tool.

Posted by ahartnack on October 18, 2015 at 08:01 PM

Vitale, 5 minutes for receiving.

Posted by FHgrad99 on October 18, 2015 at 02:42 AM

If you looked up ass kicking in the dictionary, you would find a picture of this fight. Dick Vitale might have had a better chance in this fight than Joe Vitale did.

Posted by kimo_coyote on October 20, 2015 at 05:35 PM

Millers face shield took some early shots. That being said Miller clearly won the fight. As for sound I have learned over the years anytime it is a Bruins fight turn off the sound. Edwards is such a classic horses ass I do feel for the Bruins they desrve better than that tool.

Posted by Reeferman1967 on October 18, 2015 at 07:40 AM

Soothsayer Jack calling punches before they land.....and........being correct 90% of the time. Amazing Kingofgoons, Boldbilly, spot on as usual.

Posted by rocky 1 on October 19, 2015 at 12:02 AM

Give the fight to Vitale as Miller wears what essentially is a face shield.Easy to be a tough guy with that mask on!The league needs to let fighters fight without the shield!

Posted by The Mad House on October 18, 2015 at 01:30 AM

Man oh man, Miller did a number there Vitale is a solid fighter but Miller is in another league He keeps impressing me more and more If Vitale didn't have a visor he would've been out cold after a few of those first few punches Although Vitale got his clock cleaned here He really didn't do a bad job But Miller dominated at the end

Posted by ravenmaniacski on October 20, 2015 at 10:31 PM

From now on when watching a bruins fight I will have to mute it. Listening to Edwards is making my ears bleed!!!

Posted by Ripper20 on October 20, 2015 at 02:43 PM

Wow...that call was a homer of all homers. Yes, Miller won handily, but there weren't enough square shots landed to give Homer Edwards that many orgasms. Miller with a clear cut win.

Posted by slysi on October 28, 2015 at 08:21 PM

the NESN homers will always build up the bruin ...unless ...well never mind

Posted by bigdog2007 on October 20, 2015 at 03:22 PM

Im betting Edwards had his little twig in his hand and was tugging away as he calls this fights.

Posted by northlander on October 19, 2015 at 08:00 PM

I made sure that i turned the sound off before i had to listen to Jack Edwards go crazy , in his opinion the bruins have won every fight, even in the games they weren't playing in .

Posted by EdNo on October 21, 2015 at 04:22 PM

Personally, even as a Bruins fan I find JE supremely annoying... he's clearly the wimpy kid living vicariously through others.. but on the other hand, who's better than him?! He gets paid to go to games and get woodypants watching his heroes do something he never experienced in his life But I Digress... Miller SMOKED Vitale.. i'm surprised no broken jaw/cheek/orbital from those hammers!

Posted by blaster on October 19, 2015 at 01:45 AM

Vitale was lucky that Miller took it easy on him because you could tell Miller held back.. If he didn't Vitale could have been really tatooed by Miller's right hand.

Posted by sedinfan on October 18, 2015 at 11:59 AM

Nice to see that Mrs. Vitale was on the website voting, can't think who else would have voted for Joe and his rearranged face.

Posted by EK65 on October 18, 2015 at 06:12 PM

Wow! Miller throwing absolute bombs and landing each of them. Vitale is a gamer for staying in there Props to Miller who had Vitale hurting pretty badly and held off All Miller, Domination & 7

Posted by njteech on October 21, 2015 at 11:56 AM

Vitale because of the homer call of fight

Posted by slambo on October 18, 2015 at 03:33 AM

for every fight in a bruins game, you need to automatically post the visitors broadcast. If I ever have the misfortune of finding myself in Boston again, I would love to spend a whole day tracking down Edwards, and bust out his teeth before I rip out his tongue... but I suppose it is easier to just change the station when he is on... mevan killer with the chin check 101 gets the easy win. He's a baaad man!!!

Posted by BigBadBruins68 on October 18, 2015 at 02:52 PM

Kevan "The Killer" Miller wakes up again and reminds us B's fans why we fell in love with him in the first place. His injuries kept him from fighting for a while, but here, against an overmatched but game Vitale, he really lets loose and dominates.

Posted by tpr1960 on October 18, 2015 at 08:53 AM

Was actually very close til the end, KM got 2 in. The great part is the bruins are gonna suck this year, and get punched on alot, so get ready maggot-mouth edwards. I think he is the one we used to flush his head in the toilet in grade school.

Posted by buzzgun2000 on October 18, 2015 at 10:11 PM

Edwards will tell you that there was a Sleestak and Puff The Magic Dragon in the booth with him. Seriously, if I were a Bruin fan, I would have the volume turned down permanently.
