Typical Burrows. Dirty, sneaky, and opportunistic. If you root for him, you should be ashamed of yourself. By the way, many of you really need to learn grammar, punctuation, and spelling. It's really tough reading the comments.

ladies and gentlemen please put your hands together for the NEW MATT COOKE of the league...Burrows is one of the biggest D-bags in the league

Posted by Bloodbank on April 20, 2015 at 11:54 AM

Funny how Ferkland runs Sbisa from behind headfirst into the boards and that hit is OK. When Burrows lays out Gaudreau that's not cool? Kris Russell comes in to 'have a word' with Burrows and gets his azz handed to him. BURROWS with the WIN

Posted by djh700 on April 20, 2015 at 04:14 AM

Russell asked for it and he got it. Clear W for Alex.

Posted by Humper on April 20, 2015 at 10:37 AM

Burrows the winner, but he's also a POS. Not surprising though, the same goes for the rest of his team.

Posted by EK65 on April 20, 2015 at 03:20 AM

Burrows lays a big hit and gets the jump. I guess he gets he win. Man this series has had some fireworks.

Posted by jlmcgui on April 21, 2015 at 08:51 PM

OK, get the semantics out of the way; WIN for Burrows. Comments: He checks little-guy, Calder Candidate Johnny Gaudreau and then responds when Russell (btw, a NOTED pugilist) comes calling. Russell is lucky that Burrows didn't BITE HIM! ASS-CLOWN Burrows ... typical Canucks ... cheap-shot artist ...

two biggest pussys in hockey Burrows and Bieksa ,VCancouver pussys

Burrows is slime....

Posted by 5fourfighten on April 21, 2015 at 07:55 PM

Nice to see some scrapping in the PO's.

Posted by BigRo on April 21, 2015 at 09:00 AM

Gutless play by Burrows. He jumped Russell, but that is the Canucks' way. Bunch of chicken shits. 2 guys on Engelland, and they wont go at Bollig. Man o man, I hate those Canucks.

Posted by Wademstuckey on May 02, 2015 at 01:35 PM

Burrows took liberty and got smacked for it.

Posted by hipcheckCHI on April 22, 2015 at 12:42 AM

For those saying Burrows is the new Cooke, Kaleta, etc., he's been a d-bag for a long time, albeit one who can score goals. Best I can say here is at least Burrows didn't pull Russell's hair like he did against Duncan Keith a few years ago. Spineless win for Burrows.

Posted by fhshockey112002 on April 20, 2015 at 09:36 AM

Crap fight where no one landed anything... Other than Burrows throwing into the bucket/visor of Russell.

Posted by bigredjeff on April 20, 2015 at 06:23 PM

Burrows makes a bad check. Mad bro? Burrows lands a few punches. Takedown for Russell via right cross. Not much happened here.

Posted by Mullet7 on April 20, 2015 at 02:20 AM

Burrows is getting to sit the next game because of this. Very dumb move, and I would say that he lost the fight if there had been much more of a fight. Only 4 real punches landed, and he took the last one on the chin.

Posted by shawn46 on April 21, 2015 at 11:12 AM

Dangerous hit.... and a mugging of a non-fighter. I remember Russell from his CBJ days. He is a smallish puck moving defenseman and is lucky to get in more than a fight a year. Clearly Burrows lost his mind and wanted to show them off. Russell appeared to throw a big one as the pile was going down.

Posted by slysi on April 25, 2015 at 01:03 AM

Burrows is a punk....nuff said

Posted by dcmac on April 20, 2015 at 09:37 PM

Burrows is a cheap shot artist. Only difference between Burrows and Matt Cooke is Cooke hits harder. Cheap shots should get 5 minutes if they are going to take fighting out of the game which IMHO they pretty much have.

Down goes burrows

Posted by doobi1 on April 20, 2015 at 10:52 AM

Burrows managed to get the jump on Russel in the outset and enough for the win. Russel did launch a bomb before they both went down, but sad for him, the fight ended there. Burrows the biter, is the son of a former All Star Defenseman, who played with class and dignity. It must kill him to see, that his son, has turned out to be the low form of player that he has become , and has amounted to nothing more than the the smelly toejam, that accumulates under his big toe.

Posted by ghjkfdhgfd on April 22, 2015 at 01:16 AM

asshole with the jump

Posted by claire alexande on April 21, 2015 at 12:45 PM

Have to give this draw to Russell on principle. Once he realizes he's in a fight, he lands the only half-way decent shot of the scrap. Again, Nuck sacklickers are an embarrassment to the site. Even the elder sister looks embarrassed by Alexis' cheapshot crap and spotpicking. The Nuck tuff guy hit Gaudreau from behind. There's a rule about that. Ferland hit Sbisa shoulder-to-shoulder.

Posted by Oswegofightfan on April 20, 2015 at 04:27 AM

Cheap hit. And then jumps a guy from behind o lycto get popped on the chin. The best he get knocked down from one punch

Posted by Pacific on April 20, 2015 at 01:07 AM

I am giving this one to the flyweight.

Posted by grrbronco81 on April 20, 2015 at 09:56 AM

Burrows gets it, but he should also get to sit for Game 4.

Posted by kkdowning on April 20, 2015 at 04:03 PM

I do not have an axe to grind / dog in the hunt for this series -- but I do have a legitimate (I think) question. Will the Vancouver coach get fined because one of his players instigated a fight in the last 2 minutes? That is a rhetorical question actually. Oh, Burrows won the fight.

Posted by BruinsAllDaySon on April 21, 2015 at 11:01 PM

Burrows, the POS finger-biter with the win, although it's too bad we didn't get to see the second half of the fight that should have happened had he not then forced the fight to the ice after getting his shots in. He'll get his, they usually do.

Posted by Rickles on July 29, 2015 at 09:57 PM

Borderline hit. Burrows was challenged and answered. Pretty close. Why the hate for burrows? Hes not dirty, not a good fighter but always will stick up for himself and his teamates. Usually loses but always tries. He deserves way more respect.

Posted by wannago_letsgo on April 20, 2015 at 06:54 PM

Burrows with a Burrows hit. Cheap, spot picked, blind sided, on someone who had no chance of standing up for himself, gutless, etc, etc... Burrows wins the fight. He's just a more talented version of Max Lapierre or Pat Kaletta. Unless you're a Canucks fan, you probably agree with me.

Posted by rocky 1 on April 21, 2015 at 10:06 PM

Another very dirty hit by a Vacouver player starts a fight.Burrows with the edge!

Posted by GoonVisor on April 21, 2015 at 11:29 AM

Alexandria comes down with a bad case of the sniffles after realizing that he will not be advancing past the 1st round. He then takes out his frustration with a cheap-shot on a better player than himself and promptly starts a fight with a non-fighter. What a big baby. Montreal-west can have a seat. Edge Burrows 4 BOOOOOOOOO!

Posted by bigmike53 on April 20, 2015 at 03:28 PM

Burrows gets the jump and the win.

Posted by DARCY T on April 25, 2015 at 09:03 AM

haha it dont happen often that burrows bullies some other team's line.first he demolished gaudreau at the boards and then picked on russel for looking at him...it didnt look like a great fight but burrows landed at least 2 solid rights...edge burrows

Posted by clipfan on April 20, 2015 at 03:58 PM

Out of all the hits that have been allowed in this game alone, this hit gets called. Oh wait, its Burrows. Never mind.

Posted by McGuffin on April 20, 2015 at 01:32 PM

Whenever Burrows' name appears on this site you can bet the ranch it's for a little female dog move. Such is the case here. Lame win for Burrows.

Posted by bwhite on April 20, 2015 at 10:11 PM

Russell's been acting like a tough guy all series long, pushing, shoving, lipping off, etc. He surely had no intention of fighting, so he should keep his yap shut and skate on by next time. As for the hit... I had no problem with it, just like I had no problem with Ferland on Sbisa. Shouldn't penalize a guy for finishing his check on someone smaller.

Posted by dogginit on April 20, 2015 at 09:25 AM

burrows is a diipsht lol.. Hey I guess he could have found a smaller guy on the ice to start throwing before the other player even knew he wanted to fight. Bring McGrats in for one shift lol, hell for that matter just feed him and anyother nuck to engelland.

Posted by Jesticle on April 20, 2015 at 02:13 AM

Burrows dominated Russell after destroying the 18 year old ladyboy. Good work!

Posted by Jflah53 on April 20, 2015 at 05:15 AM

First Bieska B**CH now that S**T BRD Burrows… Man, I mean Bollig & Eklland are out there but in no way will those two punks ever go after them.. Absolutely no B***S by these two .. Hey, all Vancouver needs is Clarkson on their team to really show everyone how to jump guys that aren't fighters.. Draw & a 3 …….

Posted by shonda huggins on April 20, 2015 at 12:27 PM

Great Fight Burr!!!

Posted by rwallum on April 20, 2015 at 01:26 AM

Burrows runs the smallest guy on the ice, then jumps Russell. Not really much of a fight, especially since Burrows is as gutless as they come. Draw.

Posted by Great Murray on April 20, 2015 at 07:18 AM

Vancouver is getting their collective azzes kicked in every way. Burroughs runs one little fart and then goes and finds another little fart...but it really didn't do anything for him or his team. Russell doesn't eat any meaningful punches and takes Burroughs to the ice with a couple of swings of his own. Draw and a 4 for the mean intentions. Engelland was out there for most of the scrums and it was obvious that the pansies from Vancouver were not at all interested in a rematch. Lets have a little old time hockey...I would love to watch Engelland wearing out the Sedin sissies...who on Vancouver is going to protect them from that. I'm an Eastern Conference guy but this has been by far the most entertaining series.

Posted by rocky7482 on April 20, 2015 at 08:56 AM

So Borrows and Bieksa are trying out the 'tough guy' act again. Perhaps in the final minute of Calgary's 4th win (which will likely be game 5 in Vancouver), Hartley can appease both of them by sending out Engelland to take them both on in a handicap match.

Posted by Jreedy24 on April 20, 2015 at 03:27 AM

Burrows the biggest bitch in the league.

Posted by nuckles88 on April 20, 2015 at 01:36 AM

Wow burr came out swingin haha Russell really needs to learn he can't fight and to stop lipping off. Burrows isn't a good fighter really but Russell makes him look like a champ haha Very exciting series, respect goes to both teams in this one

Posted by boldbilly on April 20, 2015 at 08:04 AM

Burrows gets the win here......there are a lot of negatives being directed his way....but here he is doing the same as the flames did at the end.....sending a message..... Not a big Burrows fan because I don't think he would try this against anyone of consequence ......here he pulls a Bruin tactic of targeting a marquee player at the end of the game.....imagine the surprise of the flames being upset about this turn of events.
