Homer vs. hater time.......blah, blah, blah And we all know it is a draw.......

Posted by King of Goons on March 04, 2014 at 11:48 PM

Barch lands the only good punch of the fight. Win for Krys Barch over a tired, old Shawn Thornton who hasn't been the same fighter since John Scott beat him onto the injured reserve list. Since then, Thornton has a perpetually glazed look in his eyes. I wonder if Scott gave him permanent brain damage.

Posted by sulley71 on March 05, 2014 at 01:35 PM

Barch with the edge in this bout! 2-0 against the Bruins!!

Posted by pvdrummer2000 on March 04, 2014 at 11:10 PM

Slight edge to Barch. I don't think Thornton has won a fight since Scott pummeled him.

Posted by web1350 on March 04, 2014 at 10:50 PM

Barch with the win. Thornton didn't do a thing! NEVER VOTE FOR THE BRUIN REGARDLESS OF THE OUTCOME!!!

Posted by Cruncher on March 04, 2014 at 11:39 PM

Must be the homer vote getting out there. I think Boston's looking for a new policeman. Thornton isn't looking to strong as the years pile on... Piss poor since Scott rang his dome! Home that!

DRAW

Posted by Behn Wilson on March 04, 2014 at 10:32 PM

Decent lengthy uneventful strategic draw... between two evenly-matched legit-heavies Highlighted by a sneaky mid-fight pop by Barch

Posted by srehm1 on March 04, 2014 at 09:15 PM

Long bout with both fighters landing a few. Draw.

Posted by mr. puttzo on March 04, 2014 at 10:57 PM

Thornton is washed up.

Posted by Hilaker on March 04, 2014 at 10:05 PM

Long and uneventful. I give it slightly to Barch. A 5.

Posted by kyhammer on March 04, 2014 at 10:14 PM

Barch with the only solid shot. mostly tie up and holding tight.

Posted by Jellyczar on March 06, 2014 at 09:48 PM

draw all the way... Thornton slowing down ... should have been able to pummel Barch

Posted by Orr Fourever on March 05, 2014 at 11:20 AM

Draw. ST always willing and able to step up to the plate, All you jackasses who think the two time Stanley Cup Champ is washed up should go pick a fight with him. No, I didn't think SO.

Posted by bruinsfan1992 on March 05, 2014 at 08:33 AM

This is a straight out draw. I would give the win to Thornton if you told me to choose but there was a lot of strategy and good jersey grips in this bout. has there ever been a game when these 2 guys don't fight?

Posted by DrJohnnyFever on March 05, 2014 at 07:33 AM

Barch lands the best punch but Thornton lands a few more. Draw.

Posted by ChuckTheBucket on March 07, 2014 at 08:51 AM

I find myself disagreeing with Jack Edwards all the time, especially since this wasn't "pretty" "technical" "adept" or even a "fight."

Posted by BadStar on March 05, 2014 at 11:34 AM

Draw both landed some good punches. Barch hit him real good and Thornton got some good uppercuts in

Posted by Bruins170 on March 04, 2014 at 10:55 PM

Close but I thought Barch got the W.

Good tilt with a clear Draw!Thornton does not like to throw open always doing the Stortini!

Posted by homeland on March 05, 2014 at 01:51 PM

I dont really see how this is anything but a draw. Tons of Bruins haters on this board though.

Posted by blaster on March 05, 2014 at 04:09 PM

One punch does not win a fight and as a result Thornton with a close win.

Posted by Edsmo on March 05, 2014 at 03:21 PM

Thornton landed a couple more here.

Barch is gonna be sore after double trouble.

Posted by Eastern3276 on March 05, 2014 at 06:54 AM

Long bout for two big guys, not an easy task. Thornton one of my favorites but the aging pugilist could not get free to get going. Edge Barch with the one good right pop.

Posted by Amerkfan8 on March 07, 2014 at 11:09 PM

Solid draw. Barch goes 0-0-2 on the night by my count.

Posted by habssuck on March 05, 2014 at 07:56 AM

Barch holding on for his dear life the whole fight

Terrible fight

Posted by English_Bruin on March 05, 2014 at 01:58 PM

Another poor showing by Thornton. Some are saying he hasnt been the same since Scott cracked him, true enough but hasnt it occurred to people that some of the other younger guys are just getting better? Happens all the time in UFC. Still respect to him for dropping gloves although id rather see him step down and enjoy playing hockey for the rest of his career - he's earned it.

Posted by ruger1 on March 05, 2014 at 08:44 AM

Props to Barch for going 2 rounds that game. Call it a draw. Both got a couple shots in but no real rage.

Posted by DARCY T on March 30, 2014 at 07:28 AM

we can argue that thornton is slowly falling off of front positions this season but he used to got the upper hand in fights with barch in the past.it wasnt that case in this one.draw in boring slow battling-for-better-position fight

Posted by ETR on March 05, 2014 at 02:43 PM

Whole lotta nuttin" goin' on....

Posted by mmadced on March 05, 2014 at 10:41 AM

draw in a strategic bout. JR or should I say jock rash try to be somewhat objective, your makin a fool of yourself king of goons- thorny is playin some of the best hockey of his life, so I guess hes not old and tired and the only glazed look is in your mothers eye when she saw you........

Posted by GoonVisor on March 06, 2014 at 01:09 PM

4. Draw. Good thing the B's 4th line can score goals because the tough guy window is closing fast. Props to Barch for going big, but neither fight had a clear-cut winner.

Posted by JOHN R. GREEN on March 10, 2014 at 01:56 PM

BARCH,koodoos for showing up.

Posted by NickG on March 05, 2014 at 03:53 PM

Seen all 8-9 of Thorny's bouts this year, and he still hasn't clearly won any. Hard to watch a real tough guy fade like this. Love the guy. No way he won this fight. W Barch

Posted by pwb94 on March 07, 2014 at 03:18 PM

Pretty much a hug fest accept for the big right by KB and a couple jersey shots exchanged, how awful is Jack Edwards? Barch with a 7.... Thornton with a 2.... NESN sucks.. didn't even show a replay of that monstrous right!

Posted by JuddWudd on March 05, 2014 at 10:32 AM

Edge Barch.

Posted by my3sons on March 05, 2014 at 08:46 AM

The only punch that counted was when Barch uncorked Thorntons Helmet. The rest never landed by either one.

Posted by toy boy dan on March 05, 2014 at 02:04 PM

Barch, came into the TD Bank Arena and took on both Lucic and Thornton and won both close bouts. This does not happen very often.

Posted by Hitem hard on May 23, 2014 at 04:57 PM

Thornton is a stand up guy but past his sell by date. Never the same after Scott KO.

Posted by Sweeney2112 on March 05, 2014 at 09:58 PM

Barch pretty much owned the bruins this game!!

Posted by The Bud Life on March 05, 2014 at 07:14 AM

Barch -2 Bruins-0

Posted by knnite on March 10, 2014 at 07:34 PM

meat head Thornton.....just picking spots on a guy that's already tired from another bout.....still couldn't beat him.

Posted by Spinner55 on March 05, 2014 at 09:07 AM

Barch

Posted by tnarg62 on March 05, 2014 at 06:36 PM

barch beaten on the mighty bruins and nobody can stop him...guess barch is no brooks orpik

Posted by boxcarwillie on March 06, 2014 at 03:38 PM

They traded punches and Barch did a decent job of tying Shawn up, but he ate a really solid uppercut, so narrow win for Thornton.

Posted by sjeffh on March 06, 2014 at 05:06 AM

I gave this fight a seven knowing that it was somewhat of a hugfest. You could really see these guys struggling, and they were struggling hard and long. They must both have been REALLY tired after this one. (an obvious draw by the way)

Posted by tiburon4 on March 06, 2014 at 02:26 PM

Good, long tussle: Thornton got this one, landing more punches including an uppercut.

Posted by pch49 on March 06, 2014 at 12:26 PM

Barch with one punch.

Posted by kkdowning on March 06, 2014 at 08:37 AM

Barch earned his pay tonight (and even a small bonus) as he takes on 2 tough guys in one night. Fleischman and the other Euro players must be thanking the deities the Panthers keep a tough guy around.

Posted by Biggus on March 05, 2014 at 07:54 AM

Second go for Barch and I think he does a little better here. I scored it a draw, but with an edge to Barch for landing better.

Posted by ghjkfdhgfd on March 04, 2014 at 11:21 PM

Not bad

Posted by beretta804 on March 25, 2014 at 05:24 AM

Too many rights and Thorton will the win.

Posted by doobi1 on March 05, 2014 at 06:57 PM

Good donnybrook. Haven't seen Thornton go in a long time. He definitely held his own and then some against Barch. Both battled until the gas ran out the tank, but Thornton with the quick hits and uppercuts wins the battle, but luckily he ducked the Barch bombs.

Posted by pepsigenerate on March 06, 2014 at 08:45 AM

Krys Barch enters the boston flower garden and rules TD Bank North. I think Lucic is a better fighter then Thornton, haha no one hates the bruin' its jackass Edwards

Posted by yngblonde1 on March 05, 2014 at 09:12 AM

A lousy fight..Over a minute of dancing with the stars..Though I have to give the edge to Barch only because I don't like sucker punch offender Thornton..

Posted by Silent Partner on March 05, 2014 at 08:01 AM

Thornton takes on Barch and proceeds into one of his patented defensive bear hugs. Why bother! Two good shots from Barch. Thornton washed up, time to move him to Montréal!

Posted by shootthepuck on March 10, 2014 at 06:13 PM

I don't hate the Bruins but homer announcing of course..

Posted by HOCKEY GOD on March 06, 2014 at 09:16 AM

Fucking Boobston homer pussies. Thornton punches like a made in china windmill doll.

Posted by Lausman on March 05, 2014 at 05:53 AM

Barch knocks Thorntons head off.....helmet off.....Hand it to Barch....2 in one night.......good to see him back!

Posted by sedinfan on March 05, 2014 at 06:59 PM

Does anybody else turn the sound off when Boston fights?

Posted by paddyd on March 05, 2014 at 03:45 PM

Barch but don't worry Shawn the announcer thinks you won!

Posted by legion31 on March 05, 2014 at 07:58 AM

solid right from Barch ........ edge Barch

Posted by Peters 76 on March 06, 2014 at 01:20 AM

Wow Boston sucks. Both beat by Barch. Hang 'em up, Thorts.

Posted by hughcares on March 05, 2014 at 09:19 PM

Cementhead loses again, time to hang them up.

Posted by boldbilly on March 05, 2014 at 09:17 AM

Barch with the slight win he lands two shots one of them a good one.....Thornton lands nothing but somehow magically gets all these votes.....Bruin supporters are so sad ....Thornton should have destroyed him considering it was BArch's second fight .......but the fading pugilistic skills seem to be eroding ........Barch won both fights

Posted by GSP09 on March 06, 2014 at 04:16 PM

Barch pays himself two Bruins in the same night.

Posted by shawn46 on March 05, 2014 at 05:13 PM

there has to be a high percentage of blind ppl in Boston and they think all bruins are 8 feet tall, are bullet proof and live on a diet of chain and nails..

Posted by nojjon on March 04, 2014 at 11:53 PM

If you base the fight on the call by Jack Edwards then Thornton wins; however Edwards doesn't know how to call a fight. Win by Barch, barely but a win.

Posted by kinga101 on March 16, 2014 at 03:58 PM

I don't see what Thornton did to get as many votes for the win and draw, but then again we all know that a Bruin gets "automatic" votes every time. Barch controlled the fight and threw the only punches landed for the win.

Posted by Great Murray on March 05, 2014 at 07:03 PM

Barch must have got a full tank before this game. Two grueling fights and he won both of them. He landed at least 3 decent shots. Thorny, just one. He must have dominated the fight if the homers haven't gotten the call for Thornton. Edwards must have a bit of the flu...he was only half stupid with this fight call.

Posted by MBsez on March 05, 2014 at 12:17 AM

Wow - Bruin fans come running to vote their man. The truth is Barch got the better of both Lucic and Thornton. ........0 for 2 tonight for the Bruin Boys

Posted by chad420 on March 05, 2014 at 11:01 AM

win Shawnee T

Posted by Canner on March 04, 2014 at 10:35 PM

Ummm, WTF was that, Shawn?? That was Barch's second fight - you should have owned him. And the pillow punches?? OK, Jay Miller used those as part of his arsenal, but he'd fire off 10-15 plus some real punches and go all night. Get the cardio up, Shawn - you were sucking air from second one. I gotta go Ogorki again in spite of 40+ years supporting the Bs

Posted by Boston Sucks on March 04, 2014 at 11:49 PM

Barch by a landslide. What the hell is going on with Thornton in the lead? This is bullshit. Thornton landed nothing.

Posted by The Mad House on March 04, 2014 at 09:20 PM

All fights tonight (so far) have featured MEN that don't wear visors. That's something to celebrate right?

Posted by mikebflorida on March 05, 2014 at 09:30 AM

That one goes to Barch. Thornton just doesn't want to get hit anymore.

Posted by GCBC00 on March 04, 2014 at 11:54 PM

Hmmmm, again, was hoping for more from these two names. Like Barch's activity lately.

Posted by Cid on March 05, 2014 at 04:34 PM

Voting on this site has become ridiculous. The comments are even worse. I think anyone with half a brain and who actually bothers watching the fights and scoring them fairly would agree both scraps in this game were a draw. People voting a win for a player based on their distaste for the announcers or having a dislike for his team or that team's fan base is no way to judge or score a fight. Same can be said for stuffing the ballot box when your fighter clearly lost the fight. It's sad that all of the "Haters" and "Homers" have taken over this hockey fights forum and really made it laughable and some times insulting to others. With regards to the fight. Bit of snoozer. I gave it a draw but could see the slightest edge for Barch for the only real punch landed.

Posted by Viper207 on March 04, 2014 at 09:23 PM

That looked tiring. Another impressive bit of work here by Barch, this time taking on the still-dangerous Thornton and earning a solid draw.

Posted by LGR72 on March 04, 2014 at 10:56 PM

Some good shots landed by both but lots of dancing too. A draw.

Posted by dbro18 on March 04, 2014 at 10:11 PM

Posted by DuckHawk on March 04, 2014 at 09:36 PM

Edge Thornton, In a tight one. Good on Batch, very active lately.

Posted by Boston Garden on March 05, 2014 at 02:11 AM

Bruins gonna fight heavyweights. Whiny haters going to talk sh*t, while their teams don't have an enforcer and get pushed around.

Posted by bigmike53 on March 04, 2014 at 10:10 PM

Krys Barch is playing with an edge tonight! Good on him. I'm with 777Big on this one. This wrestling match is a draw.

Posted by kimo_coyote on March 04, 2014 at 10:50 PM

slight edge to Thornton Barch worn out from first fight. Amazingly Jack Edwards didn't make it out to be a Thornton slaughter. What has happened to Jack? Actually called two fights tonight without spewing his usual BS.

Posted by moneybags on March 05, 2014 at 12:07 AM

Thornton controlled most of the fight

Posted by bruins2012 on March 04, 2014 at 09:24 PM

I give the edge to Thornton because he looked a bit busier to me. Credit to Barch though, dropping them with Lucic and Thornton in the same night deserves a lot of credit

Posted by staceyb on March 04, 2014 at 10:04 PM

W for Thornton. They had to run the Zamboni after the fight as they seemed to skate around the entire ice surface for two minutes.
