White is fun to watch, win or lose. I don't think he wins a ton of fights, but goes for it every time. I think I remember him tuning in Johnny Boychuk once last year. It is funny how White developed into this role. I lived in Calgary when White was a junior and he would bring us out of our seats nightly as he was a gifted offensive player. He did like to scrap the odd time, but for a guy not very big that looked like he had great hands in junior, it is odd to see him in this role. I think I will give this one a spirited draw as the picture was blurry and the hair got in the way of some of the punches.

Great to see Darius Kasparaitis back in the NHL.

Too choppy to tell what happened. Nobody seemed to get the upper hand, and once the Probert-Ray disrobing, McQ did nada with the advantage.

Posted by fernben8 on February 15, 2012 at 09:52 PM

I give this one a clear Draw. Neither got a good grip established and ended up with a sloppy fight. The Habs still have a long way to go in the toughness division, Their # 1 guy can only equal the Bruin's # 4 guy ( at best) ...

Posted by Juryman on February 16, 2012 at 05:51 PM

NHL rule 46.13 players jersey needs to be properly tied down. McQuaids jersey came off awful easy. White had the early part of the fight, jersey came off and McQuaid made a comeback. Decent fight for 2012 standards.

Posted by Behn Wilson on February 16, 2012 at 11:01 PM

Old school Habs-Bruins animosity, as White, and McQuaid try to channel the intensity of a Nilan-Miller, or a Kordic-Byyers.. but end up with a decent Maley-Curran.

Posted by wallysy1 on February 17, 2012 at 09:13 AM

both guys got them in. bruin homers always on here registering win--but that is definition of a draw at the end of a shift --both guys tired....

Posted by DARCY T on February 21, 2012 at 07:17 AM

win mcquaid?hah,u wish bruins homers....draw and 7

Posted by rocky 1 on February 16, 2012 at 12:02 AM

I give this a draw because MCQuaids sweater was not tied down and White had nothing to hold on to!

Posted by GreatMurray on February 16, 2012 at 06:26 AM

A lot of energy. They both landed a few. The only votes for other than a draw came from the homers. It was great to watch this game without the NESN idiots making the call. What happened to the tie down call...must have been playing in Boston. 63 should be heading for another suspension for his really azzhole maneuver at the end of the period. If suspensions aren't going to work on him he needs to be introduced Mr. Butt End...HARD! Maybe if his chicklets are left on the ice he will start playing the game with a little honor and respect.

Posted by Jwood514 on February 15, 2012 at 10:30 PM

I gave it draw. Perhaps an edge to McQuaid who should have done far better against the underdog.

Posted by bradforddean on February 17, 2012 at 07:37 PM

I thought this was one of the better fights I've seen in a bit. White's style is hilarious, like his hair is actually on fire, which would be a disaster, bc then Mc's perm would go up too, and the 80's would be forgotten!!

Posted by cmich20 on March 01, 2012 at 01:25 AM

both got some heavy hits in. draw

Posted by Angry_Beast on February 15, 2012 at 09:16 PM

I am in favor of the Bruins but this was a pretty equal fight, although McQuaid had some pretty good punches on White.

Posted by Jesticle on February 16, 2012 at 04:33 PM

Wow, there are a LOT of BRUINS HOMERS on this site. As a non-fan of the Bruins nor the Habs.... Issuing anything but a draw, is obvious Homerism. Homers are ruining the site. Homers.

Posted by farcyde21 on February 16, 2012 at 11:30 AM

Draw but a doozie!

Posted by jmackisback on February 16, 2012 at 04:38 PM

Clear win for White, barely anything at all landed for McQ

Posted by legion31 on February 16, 2012 at 03:41 PM

edge to white !

Posted by Makh2o on February 18, 2012 at 07:01 PM

Even while cheating McQuaid landed only one or two punches. Tie down your jersey ya bum! Victory to White. Even fight, but the bruin cheats again... masshole.

Posted by kinga101 on March 02, 2012 at 10:08 PM

This was a fight that McQuaid should have won, but came up a little short. He didn't land much of anything and White landed a few good lefts for the slight edge. It's amazing how many more votes are logged when a Bruin is involved. They must come out of the woodwork to stuff the ballot box.

Posted by titletownBoston on February 15, 2012 at 10:48 PM

quaid gets the decision.slightly. User name shows no bias. White took some hefty shots. Good looks on white actually dropping them with #54. Most people shy away from that.

Posted by Blackbeard101 on February 15, 2012 at 11:39 PM

Close fight....a few lefts landed by White...nothing much landed by mcQuaid....White gets the close decision based on the early flurry and some points for the wrestling moves as well as undressing McQuaid. Still waiting for McQuaid to go with a legit fighter....last one was with Asham last year and McQuaid got hammered by the smaller Asham.

Posted by workthejab on March 15, 2012 at 10:06 AM

I gave this fight to Ryan, as he seemed to have the advantage before Adam managed to slip his unfastened jersey (there was talk of Price getting a penalty for his jersey slipping off during his scrap with Thomas last year, but McQuaid doesn't have to keep his jersey hooked up???). Once slipping the shirt, McQuaid certainly landed more big shots and ended up winning, but it will take a better beat-down than that before I vote for a Bruin.

Posted by mrunohoo on February 16, 2012 at 11:41 PM

When is NBC Sports going to announce that they are officially the Bruins official station? Either way it's better than listening to that homer Jack Edwards!

Posted by GSP09 on February 16, 2012 at 01:41 PM

White, a lightweight, beats the [email protected] out of McQuaid. No tiedown for McQuaid where was the reffs, blind as always, when Boston is involved.

Posted by habs24cups on February 18, 2012 at 01:55 PM

White slight win since his jersey is on and Quaid jersey is off. White, Not bad for 1st game back. Habs sure need sand paper. Quaid is a beast though.

How does peoples even give the edge to McQuaid, Bruins fans?? If McQuaid didn't have his shirts off, White would have land the best shots for sure, he couldn't Hold since shirts was off. Little edge to White tho, best shots in this fight ^^, great fight.

Posted by Spydervoodoo on February 15, 2012 at 09:28 PM

Man, you Bruins fans are nuts! I can give it to a Bruin when he wins. But McQuaid a clear winner? Nuts I tell ya. Good fight, I agree with the lots of hair, saw some clear left shots get in by White, I think McQuaid was starting to back in when he lost his jersey. Too bad he didn't tie it down, would've made it even more interesting. I give a slight edge to White just for the lefts. Good players that drop the gloves. Kudos to both.

Posted by dkdanielkli on February 17, 2012 at 06:39 PM

Ryan White lended more punches to McQuaid's face and he is also way smaller than Mcquaid. RW wins this one !

Posted by geoffcarter on February 16, 2012 at 12:20 AM

Draw, maybe slight edge to McQuaid but if so, only by a hair. McQuaid has a huge size advantage but White is plenty game. Good effort on both sides.

Posted by Martinrsx on February 15, 2012 at 10:25 PM

Clear win for White

Posted by Bruins_Sux on February 16, 2012 at 01:06 PM

Mild-mannered White finally did what the hockey world has been wanting to do and that's put a beating on the Boston Babies (aka, Bruins). This game was pure Canadians from the 1st Puck Drop to the last. Sure, the Babies won, but for Stanley Cup "champs" they were distugustinly bad.

Posted by bigbadboy98 on March 02, 2012 at 01:06 PM

ADAM MCQUAID lol ! he is a joke !! ryan white gave him for his money , again mcquaid again choose but this time look truly stupid ...next time try ...gionta !!

Posted by jnk07899 on February 16, 2012 at 11:09 AM

You Bruin fans are pathetic. Stop voting for your team when they lose the fight. An incredibly undersized White takes the decision.

Posted by peressjo on February 16, 2012 at 05:09 PM

Considering White is much smaller and that he still gave off better and more punches... This goes to white

Posted by Lucic_Power on February 16, 2012 at 12:09 AM

Mcquaid too big and too crazy. Boston please get Whitney by the deadline!

Posted by fenians79 on February 16, 2012 at 12:51 PM

Mc by a hair........ in other news Habs fans cheering a player hit in the face with a puck....the best part of you all ran down the crack of your mamas arse and ended up as a brown stain on the mattress. No Hab fans will read that as Habs players don't fight they just dive.

ok fight

Posted by Edsmo on February 16, 2012 at 12:30 PM

Hats off to White for having the nuts to take on Darth Quaider. He helped himself a lot by grabbing Darth's sweater, but I watched the replay of this in slow-mo and Quaider landed at least three bell ringers to White's half of a bell ringer.

Posted by mtchbx on February 15, 2012 at 09:12 PM

Win to McQuaid. White grabbing until McQuaid got tangled in his shirt. That's why it's a penalty to not have the straps. Bet White doesn't want a rematch.

Posted by FightsOfHockey on February 15, 2012 at 10:57 PM

hmmm slight edge to McQ

Posted by ironface on March 03, 2012 at 12:05 AM

Hair everywhere...LOL!! Difficult to see what is going on but it appears that Adam landed a couple more than Ryan. Very narrow win McQuaid.

Posted by risingdemon on February 16, 2012 at 12:53 PM

Better shots landed by McQuaid.

Posted by Jaxman2002 on February 16, 2012 at 09:33 AM

Maybe an edge to Q because he is bigger and had the edge in the push and shove. I give credit to White for getting into it with him and doing quite well for his size. Probably a draw but Q on the physicality gets the nod. I agree with the comments on the shirts...McQuaid's shirt looks like tissue paper or maybe that was White holding on for dear life. Either way, Q's shirts comes off really easily.

Posted by 777Big on February 15, 2012 at 09:36 PM

Too much hair, too much jersey, too much flailing to really see what's going on....... 5 Lbs. is outside the weight class?.......going to the AHL to get "tough"? Love it how the "anti-homers" blindly vote the other way......no difference.....

Posted by classic4 on February 16, 2012 at 12:17 PM

What was with the reverse head lock? Note to White: NHL not UFC. Edge to McQ.

Posted by RangersSuck NJD on February 16, 2012 at 05:02 PM

Very entertaining fight. Im giving the win to McQuaid, i think he landed some more punches. The fight was fast paced, and some great powerful throws landed.

Posted by The DZA on February 16, 2012 at 07:23 AM

Is this a sign of the return of the Rob Ray disintegratable jersey? Ive noticed a few bouts lately that havent issued a misconduct when the jersey is torn off. Has a rule been changed that I havent heard? Regardless, draw.

Posted by billy jack on February 15, 2012 at 11:17 PM

nice tilt, edge to adam for the nice right cross.they were throwing haymakers.

Posted by BooSanta on February 17, 2012 at 09:19 PM

White was busier, but could only damage McQuaid's equiptment. Mcquaid land the better shots and gets a new rag for buffing his car. Hope to see more Hab Bru cru knuckle scrapin'.

Posted by staceyb on February 16, 2012 at 05:32 AM

Gotta love White, but the narrow V goes to McQ in that hairy, spirited bout. I suspect McQ's jersey is up for sale on eBay this morning.

Posted by smashem on February 16, 2012 at 06:35 AM

Pretty good fight, Mcquaid scores a lands a few more and picks up the Win. Popping Ryan's Whitehead.

Posted by kotalikmyballs on February 15, 2012 at 09:04 PM

Posted by Nick_Fotiu on February 16, 2012 at 12:22 PM

If I was playing against the Bruins, Darth Quaider might be the last guy I'd choose to tangle with. He turns into Braveheart once the gloves come off. White was dazed. He skated into Subban on his way to the box.

Posted by TommyGun29 on February 16, 2012 at 11:12 AM

good scrap, and a good game. Love the B's and hate the Habs but if you love hockey you gotta love this rivalry! Always entertaining. Narrow win by McQ.

Posted by mudman55 on February 17, 2012 at 07:48 AM

I have to give a very slight edge to Darth Quaider due to the fact that he landed one very hard right and that, despite having his jersey pulled off, his mulletperm never got out of place. But a good scrap, and props to White as well for the long hair-missing teeth Daily Double.

Youtube vid Super Slow Mo is the way to roll. It gives this to Quaider; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Nru8xHxQTs I was draw until this....After White's 2-3 lefts when Quaider's jersey was going up, it was all Quaider from that point. At regular speed, White's hair and jerky flailing make it looks closer.... Wtach the slow mo

Posted by EdNo on February 16, 2012 at 03:41 PM

I think I just read that one Genius gave the win to White BECAUSE MCQUAID LOST HIS FRIGGIN' JERSEY??!! All I can do is laugh... I get it if you call this one a draw ( although it's pretty obvious if you watch it closely that McQuaid stiffed him w/ an uppersut and I don't think White connected with anything significant), but PLEEEEZ people, even if you REALLY believe something so stupid as to vote for a guy because he was able to keep his jersey on, don't let the world know....

Posted by bushguy on February 15, 2012 at 09:41 PM

McQuaid is still undefeated for the year. Boston haters are either making stuff up or need eyeglasses. McQuaid controlled the fight and landed some strong shots

Posted by mmadced on February 15, 2012 at 10:19 PM

good spirited scrap as quader kicks more ass and white punches air. As usual canadien fans show how classless they are cheering when chara takes puck in face. not surprising as they also booed the US midgets teams from the U.S. a few years ago. Posted by klebold on February 15, 2012 at 09:16 PM

I wanna say McQuaid, but this look more like a Draw, nobody went down, knocked each other's helmets off at the same time, both jerked each other around pretty hard, certainly a good fight

Posted by thebucch on February 15, 2012 at 10:31 PM

Watching this back several times, I didnt see much in the way of connecting punches from either fella. They threw haymakers but didn't connect with them. That doesn't make it a fight! I gave this one to White because he seemed to be able to keep his jersey tied down and McQuaid's seemed like his was not buttoned or velcroed

Posted by hok1n on February 15, 2012 at 11:29 PM

Posted by simonpwns1021 on February 15, 2012 at 10:22 PM

White was winning before McQuaid's jersey came off, when McQuaid came loose, he was throwing them. I give edge to White for the early advantage.

Posted by deadeyedeuce on February 15, 2012 at 09:27 PM

Typical from the homer Bruin fans. First of all, White easily takes on a guy outside his weight class and does more than well while contending with McQuaid who conveniently loses his jersey. Anyone who has actually been in a hockey fight knows how difficult fighting a guy without his jersey is. Don't be afraid to cough one up every now and then boys. Win for the gutsy White!

Posted by fcm on February 15, 2012 at 09:30 PM

Easy win for McQuaid

Posted by Bruinsrock on February 17, 2012 at 11:41 AM

Deadeyedouche - you're an idiot - do you really beleive McQuaid needed to give up his jersey to beat White? White is lucky he survived the bout and only did so by clutching to the jersey in the hope of slowing down the rain of punches that followed. McQuaid should be commended for his restraint. Had to laugh watching the furball skate into his teammate on the way to the box.

Posted by BigBird on February 17, 2012 at 08:22 PM

Can't beat a guy with no sweater on, that's why they have to be tied down. Guess they have to bring in a no-tearaway-sweater rule for the Bruins now. Too bad, could have been a really good tilt if everyone kept their clothes on! White's first real scrap in 9 months due to injury.

Posted by BigBadBruins68 on February 16, 2012 at 12:11 PM

In what is clearly a classic example of a Hair vs. Hair match, the Mullet gets the better of the exchange in a good tilt.

Posted by maineman on February 16, 2012 at 01:25 AM

Darth does not lose and you could see it in White's approach realizing that he'd better throw fast and furious from the outset or he's a dead man. Quaider did land some good solid shots early and got the win in this one... again.

I'm a Canadiens fan or a Bruin hater so I'm giving this one to White for landing more of his face on McQuaid's fist. There's some logic. I love the make believe fights people watch. Win for the Wolfman McQuaid. Blackbeard, you're an idiot, plain and simple. Why don't you YouTube some of Quaiders opponents over the last three years and learn the truth before you write nonsense. I say this in the friendliest way of course. :)
