Comments: Armstrong levels Sami Kapanen along the boards, causing Baumgartner to go right after him. They drop the gloves and each throw a couple of short rights. Armstrong throws some more rights while Baumgartner struggles to get loose. Armstrong then switches to the left and lands a number of shots to the helmet and the side of Baumgartner's head while he tries to move away from the punches. Baumgartner switches to the left as well and throws two of his own. The two then grapple for a short moment just before Armstrong throws three rights that hit their target. Baumgartner responds with a left and the linesmen move in shortly after. Other Penalties: Baumgartner received an instigator and misconduct.

Comments: Behind the play, the two drop the gloves and square off for an extended period of time. They finally grab ahold of each other and Norton throws two quick rights to the side of Roy's helmet. The two grapple for a short moment and then exchange two hard rights. Roy starts pumping away with the right and Norton sneaks in two rights while Roy is throwing away. Norton then lands another right flush and Roy stops throwing. Roy then wrestles Norton to the ice and the linesmen are right there to send the two to the penalty boxes.

Comments: A scrum develops along the side boards as all of the players get into the action. Thorburn and Adams start pushing and shoving, ask each other to go, and then drop the gloves, skating away from the pile. They grab ahold of each other and wrestle for position while Adams takes off Thorburn's helmet. Thorburn throws two rights just before he wrestles Adams to the ice. The linesmen jump in right after and the fight ends. Other Penalties: Mike Commodore received a cross checking.

Comments: Behind the play the two drop the gloves and square off from center ice to the blueline. They grab ahold of each other and exchange jersey-jabs until McGrattan fires away with two rights. Cairns continues to jab away at McGrattan, putting his opponent's jersey in his face while throwing left jabs. McGrattan answers with an uppercut and two rights before the two wrestle along the boards. McGrattan throws another right and Cairns throws a left uppercut, causing McGrattan to throw a flurry of four quick rights in response. The two then go back and forth with numerous rights for quite a while, each landing a few good ones. Cairns removes his mouthpiece and McGrattan then throws an uppercut just as the linesmen are coming in to separate the two. Cairns gets in a short right, but they are then sent to their respective penalty boxes.

Comments: A scrum develops along the boards with Thorburn and Commodore grabbing each other. Thorburn tries to get his hands on Anton Babchuk, but he is pulled away by Commodore. They drop the gloves and Thorburn starts things off with two overhand rights that hit Commodore's helmet. Commodore responds with a short right and Thorburn throws two lefts just before Commodore throws a right and left combination. They then exchange a pair of rights and wrestle around until Thorburn misses with a right and loses his balance, allowing Commodore to get in a right of his own before Thorburn falls to the ice. The linesmen are there immediately to break things up. Other Penalties: Maxime Talbot received a roughing.

Hollweg and Thorburn quickly drop the gloves and tie each other up. Thorburn throws an overhand right while falling to his knees for a short moment and Hollweg throws a short right when Thorburn gets back up. Thorburn returns fire with two rights of his own just before Hollweg gets Thorburn's jersey over his head and wrestles him to the ice with the linesmen quickly breaking things up shortly after. Other Penalties: Tyutin received an interference.

Comments: Eager nails Thorburn along the boards, knocking him to the ice. Thorburn gets back up and shoves Eager while one of the linesmen tries to separate them. They both drop their gloves and Eager quickly throws a left that hits the side of Thorburn's head. Both of the linesmen jump in to try and stop the fight, but Eager continues to throw some short lefts. Thorburn returns fire with a right and the linesmen are still relentless in trying to stop the fight. Eager throws an uppercut and a left and the linesmen are finally able to break things up. Other Penalties: Eager received an instigator and misconduct.

Comments: Witt flips Crosby around with a huge open-ice hit, causing both Ryan Whitney and Malone to go after Witt in retaliation. All three drop their gloves, but it's Malone and Witt who pair off while Whitney is grabbed by Bruno Gervais. Witt and Malone quickly fall to the ice only to get back up. Malone throws two rights and they grapple for a long while as Witt is unable to get anything going. Malone gets free and throws an uppercut followed by two overhand rights to the back of Witt's helmet. Witt returns fire with a right and Malone attempts another uppercut just before Witt whips Malone to the ice and the linesmen jump in to break things up. Other Penalties: Malone received an instigator and misconduct; Ryan Whitney a double roughing; Bruno Gervais a roughing.

Comments: A scrum develops behind the Stars' net as Ruutu and Robidas get in each other's face. Robidas shoves Ruutu a couple of times while they skate into the side boards with Krys Barch trying to get to Ruutu, but being blocked by a linesman. They get some space away from everybody and Ruutu throws four consecutive rights while Robidas tries to get his right hand free. Ruutu connects with a short right and pauses just before connecting with three more rights. Robidas throws a right in response, but Ruutu connects witih one at the same time, sending Robidas to the ice. Ruutu falls on top of him and the linesmen quickly jump on top to break things up.

Comments: Jovanovski crushes Alain Nasreddine into the boards with a heavy hit, prompting Orpik to skate over and challenge Jovanovski. The two drop the gloves and lock horns. They struggle to get free and Jovanovski connects with a body shot during the grappling session. Jovanovski lands a short right and throws two uppercuts while Orpik is bent over. Orpik connects with two short rights, but they then decide to hold on and wait until the linesmen are ready to intervene. Other Penalties: Orpik received a roughing.

Comments: Petrovicky steps off of the bench during a line change and Gratton goes right after him in retaliation for some remarks Petrovicky made to the Phoenix bench. Gratton drops his gloves, spins Petrovicky to the ice, and starts feeding him rights while he is down. Dominic Moore jumps on top of Gratton and everyone piles in, including the linesmen. Petrovicky throws two rights from the bottom with one connecting while a linesmen has Gratton in a partial headlock. Eventually everyone starts getting off of each other and skates away, allowing the linesmen to restore order. Other Penalties: Gratton received an instigator, misconduct and game misconduct; Petrovicky a roughing. Ron Petrovicky did not receive a fighting major.

Souray wrestles Armstrong to the ice and pounds him with a right and two lefts while they are down. The linesmen immediately rush in and after a little bit of work, get them separated after they exchange some words. Other Penalties: Souray received an instigator, misconduct and game misconduct. Colby Armstrong did not receive a fighting major.

Hordichuk drops his mitts as well and throws Talbot an early right. Talbot puts his head into Hordichuk's chest and lands a couple of body shots. Talbot goes down to his knees, but eventually works his way back up to his feet while Hordichuk continues to throw shots to his ribs and face. Talbot falls once again and this time the linesmen are quick to step in and end the fight.

Comments: Right off of the faceoff the two drop the gloves and grab ahold of each other at center ice. Petrovicky throws four quick rights while Newbury tries to duck away from the punches and get set up. Petrovicky throws a jersey-jab and then switches hands, exchanging simultaneous rights with Newbury. Petrovicky then connects with two straight right hands that put Newbury to sleep and send him to the ice. Newbury's head hits the ice hard and knocks him unconscious for a moment. The linesmen immediately jump in to get Petrovicky off of Newbury and wave for help. Doctors and team physicans rush out onto the ice and after a while, Newbury is loaded up on a stretcher and taken to a local hospital.

Comments: They shove each other behind the Hurricanes' net and then decide to drop the gloves. They grab ahold of each other and Gleason misses with a straight right to start things off. Robert takes advantage and gets in a right that sends Gleason down to his knees. Gleason gets back up and misses with a right once again. Roberts lands a left and they then go toe-to-toe with punches: Roberts staying with the left, Gleason choosing the right. They continue to throw until Roberts connects with one last left that sends Gleason falling to the ice. They continue to trade shots while they are down on the ice, forcing the linesmen to quickly come in and grab them before anything else can happen. Other Penalties: Gleason received a roughing; Roberts a high sticking.

Comments: Laraque and Brashear find each other and drop the gloves shortly before Ryan Whitney scores to put the Penguins up 4-2. They square off just inside of the blueline. Brashear leans in and connects with a quick right that knocks Laraque's helmet off just before they grab onto each other. Laraque throws two quick lefts of his own and then tries to wrestle Brashear to the ice. Laraque throws another left and they fall to the ice. The linesmen are right there to grab them and break things up.
