Comments: With the Rangers down 2-0 and showing very little life, Purinton tries to spark his team. Starts off very spirited, with each throwing rights. Shelley lands a good right to Purinton's cheek. Shelley seems to be in control with a flurry of punches, but Purinton comes back to make it respectable, landing a few himself. Shelley got the takedown to end the fight.

Comments: Darcy lays a hit on a Ranger and Simon chases him all over ice. Hordi waits a little and they get along boards and then Darcy throws off gloves and starts chucking lefts, landing a couple of decent ones. Simon then answers back with a couple of good lefts. Solid lefts by both guys, they spin and Simon is a little stronger with the control. He lands one or two more lefts late.

Comments: This one starts at the same time as Hordi-Simon, but on the opposite side of the ice and the camera doesn't focus on them for a bit. When they do both guys are throwing right hands and spinning. Odelein falls on top at end.

Comments: Right off the faceoff circle Hinote drops the gloves and goes after Lacoutore. Lacoutore, who is skating backwards, drops the gloves and away they go. Hinote gets off two rights at the start. Three lefts by Lacoutore and Hinote is in trouble. The third left lands flush and knocks Hinote's helmet off. Lacoutore now has the jersey partially over Hinote's head and is still throwing hard lefts. Hinote, to his credit, is throwing his own lefts, but they appear to be missing or just grazing Lacoutore. Lacoutore lands on top of Hinote and the linesmen come in.

Comments: They have some words before the puck is dropped to start the second period and have to be seperated by the ref. After the puck is dropped they follow each other off the faceoff and Ott drops the gloves. Barnaby waits to drop em, does after two seconds, and away we go. They both exchange a couple of soft punches and then Ott pounds Barnaby with two rights and as a result, Barnaby finds himself pinned to the boards. Then, Ott pulls the front of Barnaby's jersey over his head and Barnaby has the jersey over his head for the majority of the fight. Barnaby manages to get out of the pin and they continue to grapple for five seconds or so before Barnaby gets a left free and gets in a couple of shots. He then pushes the jersey over his head and Ott shakes off an elbow pad and Ott throws two good lefts and Barnaby two good rights and they go down with Barnaby on top.

Comments: Purinton crushes Pitkanen with a hard check and Brash comes in. They drop em and get the hug on. Dale with some noogies, Brash with some noogies, and some more grappling. Then Purinton falls on top of Brash.

Comments: Started after a hit by Barnaby. They drop em and Buchy starts throwing some big rights, not too much landing. Barnaby counters with some short punches, they get in close and wrestle for position. Buchy tries to land a few, nothing much. Typical Barnaby fight, shook the head to wave off the refs, nothing major landing.

Comments: Focht has been banging bodies most of the period and Lacouture goes in front of net to meet him. They decide to go and Focht gets a decent right in. Lacouture a left and then Focht falls down with Lacouture "cleaning the ice with him", but he lets him back up to resume fight. Lacouture then gets a couple of lefts in, Focht answers with one or two and they move all over ice from fighting. Pretty decent bout.

Comments: Right at the faceoff that started the third period Stevenson and Simon drops the gloves. Simon tries about five punches and connects with a couple in the back of the head and gets the takedown. Stevenson tried a couple, but didn't really connect with anything.

Comments: The moment Scott meets up with Dingman along the boards the eject button is pushed. Scott starts throwing first with the left, maybe landing one. Dingman responds with a few rights. Scott then continues with the lefts and Dingman loses his balance.

Comments: McNeill puts the stick between Barnaby's legs and tries to get him to go. As they skate up the ice Simon comes over and shoves McNeill. Another Florida player skates over to Simon to shove him. McNeill drops the gloves and starts hitting Simon with right hands, some of which hit. Simon is trying to get in fighting position as he was essentially caught off-guard by McNeil. Once Simon is squared away he starts hammering McNeill with a barrage of lefts. A solid left to McNeill's jaw snaps his head back and puts him down to one knee. To McNeill's credit he gets right back up and both players trade a few more punches before the linesman step in.

Comments: Right after the NYR score a fourth goal to salt away the game with a couple minutes to go, Richard and Kelly decide to drop them after they meet up in the corner. Good squareoff and they come together. Buchberger just misses with a bomb of a right that would been a killer if it landed. They grapple some, and Scott gets loose. But he doesn't land anything as his feet go right out from under him. As the linesmen jump in, Buch throws a couple as he's on top of Scott, no big deal. But then Kelly puts his forearm on top of Scott's throat and tries to land some more short lefts with the stripes all over them. They are finally separated. Scott's falling stopped this one before it could get good.

Comments: Nolan punches Kasper the play before this, then Barnaby meets up with Nolan and does the same thing he did to Exelby, by dropping the gloves and grabbing on. Nolan then throws down and they go toe to toe for about 6-8 seconds with Nolan getting one or two better shots in, then they tie up and Nolan wants no more of it while Barnaby shakes his head at the linesmen telling them to stay out. Barnaby throws three more punches, two landed, but no damage done. Other Penalties: Barnaby received a roughing.

Comments: They squareoff again in this game. Domi fakes a few rights. He gets Barnaby a bit off-balance and moves in with some quick lefts. Barnaby can only get about one right in while he's taking in the lefts. Domi may have gotten him with a solid left and Barnaby is cleaning up the ice again.

Comments: As this starts, Simon instigates with marchment and proceeds to start pounding him with lefts. Marchment is basically trying to turtle after eating a couple. Domi, while in the linesman's hold, grabs Simon from behind and pulls everyone down. Simon gets 17 and somehow, Domi avoids the obvious third man in. Other Penalties: Simon received an instigator, misconduct and game misconduct.

Comments: They are skating into the Rangers zone and Scott drops them first. Cairns wants a squareoff, but Scott just charges after Cairns. They start throwing good hard rights, both knocking off each other's helmet. It was Cairns early, Scott in the middle, and Cairns again late. They both just fired rights during the whole fight. At the very end, Cairns popped Scott with a right that appeared to hit flush. Scott seemed a bit dazed after it and did not return.

Comments: LaCouture lands a big check on Darren Rumble who had been mixing it up with Messier some along the boards. Immediately Sarich skates over and knocks LaCouture down, then stands over him with the challenge. As soon as LaCouture gets up, they both shed the gloves. LaCouture lands a good left to start. They then begin to trade pretty well with both landing, though nothing looked real hard. Towards the end LaCouture starts to tire, his first game off the IR from a separated shoulder, and Sarich starts to take over. Sarich lands a nice uppercut as LaCouture is burying his head trying to get in-close. They get in tight and the linesmen jump in. In the box, LaCouture is sporting a nice welt above his right eye while Sarich goes to the lockerroom for repairs to a cut. Other Penalties: Sarich received a roughing.

Comments: Perrott throws a heavy bodycheck to MacDonald against the boards and gives him a shot in the face. MacDonald responds with gloves off and they lock up. Perrott gets MacDonald's helmet off immediately. Perrott is slightly bigger, takes control by throwing lefts at MacDonald, some landing and some missing. They spin around (still in tight) and MacDonald tries to throw a right hand or two. Perrott answers and lands a couple of lefts before they fall down to the ice with Perrott landing a couple. As the fight progressed, MacDonald's jersey came off. Other Penalties: MacDonald received a game misconduct.

Comments: They meet up after a check and lock up ready to go. They are in-close with each having the other's right hand tied up and throwing lefts. Both guys landing some shots while spinning. Still locked out with lefts, Belak decides to throw his jersey hand; letting go with his right hand and hits Puriton with two decent right hands and Puriton goes down.

Comments: These two just step out the box for roughing minors, and can't wait to have a dance. Nice squareoff as they step out the penalty box. They both dive in, Chara has a big reach advantage, throws a couple of jersey-punches with his left hand. Chara is so tall Barnaby has to grab Chara's left shoulder, NOT his right shoulder (simply cant reach it!). Barnaby actually gets in a decent right hand. They spin a little bit, Chara has his right hand cocked and ready and then Chara gets in a nice uppercut as they go to the ice.

Comments: Lindros and O'Donnell get together. Sean gives him a hard slash, Lindros responds and Sean drops the gloves. Eric hesitates and in comes Simon and Barnaby, as well as Moran. Lindros finally drops them, but the main attraction is Barnaby vs. Moran. They skate away from the scrum and Barnaby is able to get Moran's helmet off. He begins throwing rights, landing about five of them and then Moran gets the right going, responding with a few. Barnaby's five rights appear to do some damage, he then mixes in a left. Moran then gets the left going and they are going toe to toe for a good 15 seconds. Finally they take a break, but skate towards center ice. They each would land a few more shots before tiring and the linesmen come in. Other Penalties: Eric Lindros received a high sticking; Sean O'Donnell a roughing.

Comments: Off the draw, the gloves fly. LaCouture wants a squareoff, but Tripp just skates right to him and lands a solid right. LaCouture comes back with a left and they exchange a few each. They wrestle, try to get each other's helmets off, but fail, and Tripp pulls around LaCouture's jersey. Finally, they go down, Tripp with the takedown, but they both hit the ice, rather than Tripp falling on top of Dan.

Comments: Looks like Rheaume instigated it. Montador was more active as they were in tight. He continues to throw punches until Rheaume gets him turned around and starts throwing punches. Montador's helmet is off now and appears to be bleeding slightly. They throw a few more until the linesmen come in and break it up.

Comments: LaCouture challenges and they tie up. It happened fast. They exchange hard blows and LaCouture's helmet falls off. LaCouture goes to his knees and they wrestle, he hits his head on the ice and gets carried off with a possible concussion.

Comments: Right off a neutral zone faceoff they squareoff, then tie-up with both throwing some small shots on the way in. Simon then unleashes a flurry of punches, Boulerice throws some that don't look to land while trying to dodge Simon's onslaught. Simon looks to land the majority to the side of the head and neck shoulder area, some land solidly to the face. Simon threw a lot of punches. Boulerice goes down to a knee, but bounces right back up and proceeds to start slinging. Simon is a bit better at dodging the punches, but Boulerice lands some good shots to the head. Simon goes to a knee and gets up. Simon eventually gets a good hold of Boulerice, they both throw and a couple of more and Simon throws Boulerice to the ice as Jesse loses his balance.

Comments: Simon hooks Dingman and asks to dance. He thinks about it and then sheds his gloves and grabs on. Simon rips Dingman's helmet off with his right and throws three lefts, maybe one or two landing as Dingman just hung on and drove Simon up against the benches. Dingman then pushes Simon over the boards.

Comments: Doull and Purinton were talking before the drop of the puck. Then as the ref drops it Purinton just drops the mits and pretty much dives on Doull, throwing a punch that caught him. It looks like the linesmen might be able to stop it, but they both regain their footing and start swinging. Each of them land a few punches, with Doull maybe getting the better. Doull then gets the jersey up and over and measures out some rights for Purinton. They tangle up again and the fight is broken up.

Comments: Gill is trying to break up the Thornton/Lindros scrum so that Big Joe doesn't get sent to the box, but Barnaby comes in and grabs on to Gill. Gill is throwing bombs using his enormous reach advantage while Barnaby is just holding on, although Barnaby didn't look like he had any damage.

Comments: Lindros cross checks Thornton in the face right after a faceoff out of frustration and the two have a shoving match. They drop the gloves and hold on a little bit. Thornton throws two rights, but Lindros over powers him, has him bent over and then lands a shot that puts Thornton down to the ice. Thorton leaves with a decent size cut.

Comments: Lapointe is giving it to Poti so Simon comes over, shoves Lapointe a couple of times and finally gets him to go. Lots of holding, then Simon gets his left free and lands four to five shots. Lapointe throws a right which misses and Simon hits him with three to four lefts and the linesman comes in.

Comments: These two get going around the Bruins net. Lots of holding to start it off, finally Barnaby gets his right free and throws a few body shots and mixes in some punches to the head. Boynton gets his right free and lands a few, and they both start exchanging some short punches. Barnaby was doing his trademark head-shaking every time he got hit. Barnaby removes Boynton's helmet and lands another punch or two. This long fight finally ends as both fighters get wrapped up and the linesmen come in. Other Penalties: Mike Knuble and Chris Simon each received a roughing.

Comments: Lindros gets crunched after he was skating into Washington's zone with his head down and on the ensuing faceoff he goes straight for Doig. They both drop em, Doig tries getting rid of the visor and Lindros has a death-grip on Doig. He didnt look to throw any punches. Doig threw maybe two rights off-balance that didn't connect. Lindros threw him down and that was it.

Comments: May takes a jab at Dunham and Purinton doesn't like it. He goes over with his gloves off, and they break away from a scrum. They are in-close and Purinton lands two light rights as May gets a right to Purinton's shoulder. May switches to his left and throws five hard lefts with two or three landing solid. Purinton's jersey is over his head as May quickly switches to his right and lands two rights. May switches back to his left and feeds Purinton two or three. May is off-balance and as he is going down Purinton gets loose and gets in a couple of rights.

Comments: In a blow out game, Brash goes in deep and gives Barnaby a shove to the face. Barnaby sheds the gloves and so does Brashear, but as they grab on Purinton comes third man in which starts a big pile on. No real punches thrown, but Fedoruk threw two body slams on Rangers players. Other Penalties: Dale Purinton received a roughing and game misconduct; Todd Fedoruk a roughing; Brashear a roughing.

Comments: These two pair off in a scrum. Sharp lands a decent right hand to start off the punching, and the Lacouture starts to control it with a series of rights. Sharp gets in some lefts during Lacouture's punching, but not as many. They start to grapple, get in a hug by the boards and then the linesmen come in. Other Penalties: Todd Fedoruk received a double roughing and misconduct.

Comments: These guys were going at it earlier in the game. Markov drops the gloves and visor, Lundmark also drops the gloves, and away we go, with Lundmark throwing a few rights. Markov's jersey comes off easily and he whiffs on a big right, but starts throwing wild rights and they go down. Other Penalties: Lundmark received a game misconduct; Markov a double game misconduct.

Comments: Purinton and Cairns are in the crease. Cairns is turned and Purinton drops the gloves and cracks Cairns with a big punch just as Cairns is getting his gloves off. Purinton keeps punching as Papineau jumps in, then Snow, then everyone. Cairns takes a moment, regains composure, the crowd gets off of him and he gets up and goes after Purinton while both are being held by the linesmen. Cairns is trying to get at Purinton while Purinton is covering up. Cairns gets some punches in, but nothing much is getting through. While Papineau was really third man in, Snow's tossed for being "third" man in for some reason. Other Penalties: Purinton received an instigator, misconduct and game misconduct; Garth Snow a game misconduct.

Comments: Barnaby gives Scatchard a push going into the Islanders zone and by Dipietro Barnaby's waiting for Asham and they drop their gloves and grab on. They grab with the left and throw with the right at first. Barnaby gets off the first few, then Asham responds with a few of his own. They slow down and start going back and forth one at a time in a grapple. Asham is having problems getting his right free so he slips it out of his jersey. He takes over from there landing some hard shots and spinning the two of them against the glass. The linesmen come in at that point.

Comments: After the Asham-Barnaby fight the rest of the players on the ice (sans Dunham) are in a scrum Simon's pushing everyone around now and winds up going after Dave Scatchard. He's throwing gloved punches, but Scatchard has a brace on and can't fight. Simon drops the gloves, as does Scatchard when Simon gets in-close and Scatch holds on while Simon punches him for a bit. The linesmen can't break it up too effectively at first because more players are pairing off. They fall to the ice where Scatch is able to throw a couple of shots, but nothing really. In the mean time Messier's pushing around with Blake. Dipietro goes to get in between, but the two break away. Dunham skate down, but nothing happens. Messier and Blake continue to push and shove, and Messier's got Blake by the neck while Blake's trying to reach Messier with a punch-shove. The linesmen come in to break that up too. Other Penalties: Rick Dipietro received a leaving the crease penalty; Jason Blake a roughing; Mark Messier a double roughing; Simon a roughing and game misconduct; Scatchard a game misconduct.

Comments: The Rangers are in the offensive zone and Brodeur makes a couple of great saves. The puck goes into the corner and these two are already going at it. They're hugging, in-tight, each throwing some left noogies, possibly three each, then they grapple to the ice.

Comments: Poti rams Bouillon into the boards and Bouillon takes exception. They tie up and exchange words/shoves before shedding the gloves. Poti throws an early left before they both tie each other up pretty well. The fight moves along the boards and Poti is able to get a right loose and throws five rights, but they are not doing much damage at all or come up short. Bouillon gets in a couple and they have had enough and the linesmen break it up.

Comments: Perhaps avenging Lacouture's running of Kvasha in the last meeting, he asks Dan to go off the draw. Long squareoff. Godard throws an early right and Lacouture counters with a couple of his own. Then Godard lands two big rights and Dan goes down to a knee. Godard lets up and allows Dan to get back up. The fight continues with Godard pelting Dan with right after right and the linesmen, seeing how the fight is one-sided decide to break it up.

Comments: They meet in front of the net after the whistle and they decide to go... then MSG goes to commercial. On the replay and it was all Stevenson from the five seconds they showed. Stevenson landed some close-in rights to a ducking and hugging Barnaby. John Davidson said Stevenson threw Barnaby to the ice to end the fight.

Comments: These two are talking after a face off and eventually square off. Verot has a good hold of Barnaby's jersey and Barnaby is trying to throw punches. Verot throws three or four rights, hard to tell what connected. Barnaby is trying to get his arm out of his jersey, but Verot won't let him. Barnaby is totally tangled up in his jersey and Verot gets in a few shots before Barnaby falls backwards. Other Penalties: Verot received a slashing.

Comments: Murray checks Verot into the boards and they quickly drop em. Murray is throwing fast and furious, not much connecting, and Verot is throwing quick rights as well. Verot angles him off, with Murray throwing rights that are not landing or grazing the side of Verot's head. Verot pins Garth to the boards and is working on getting his helmet off. By the time this happens, the linesmen come in to break it up.

Comments: These two drop em off of a faceoff after a Pens goal. Both throw a couple of rights that miss. Murray comes up short with a right while Bradley hits the neck of Murray with a right. Bradley misses a right as Murray tries to get free. Murray throws a weak right that may have hit Bradley's throat/chin then throws another right as Bradley throws a right that misses or barly grazes Murray's eye, causing him to duck. Bradley then throws two rights over the ducking Murray's head. They grapple and Bradley loses his balance and goes down with Murray on top.

Comments: They drop the gloves near the Buffalo net and grapple. Murray throws two lefts, missing one, and landing another. Mair throws a huge left back that doesn't connect. Murray falls as Mair attempts another punch and it's over. Mair was bleeding, perhaps his stitches were opened by a grazing shot or helmet.
