Steckel started with what looked like the best left jab in hockey. It was so good that Konopka had a black eye before he landed one.

Konopka is a fighter though and it showed.

Konopka takes out the much less experienced fight in Steckel. Easy win.

Lead jab by Steckel seemed to piss off Konopka...rest is history.

Konopka gets into it with a non-fighter and wins his 4th scrap out of 18 per the voting here. What a loser.

Coward? Don't confuse "toughness" with "cowardliness." Konopka may not be the toughest guy in the NHL, but he simply cannot be called a coward. Konopka will thrown down with ANYONE AT ANY TIME. He fears no one. Go back and look at his dance card and see how many non-fighters are on that list.

Nice bout. A couple good early punches by each pugilist then Zenon the phenom takes it over. Looked pretty cool squaring off with that shiner, too.

Konopka is a terrible fighter but does Okay in this one.

I dont understand what took the linesmen so long to get in there. Steckel was obviously in trouble and they just sat back and let him get pounded for a little to long. W Konopka

Domination by Konopka, doesnt look like Steckel should be dropping his gloves.

Z is always game but not usually the best fighter but this was one of his best.
