SOLID hit by Witt, though he fought much better with longer hair. Draw in a fight ranked at a 3. Might have been a 5 with more tresses flying around.

Hey Flames fans.......and the skirt wearing Dion.......Brendan Witt demonstrates how to handle a situation where a team takes exception to a hit. Drop em like a man. I don't think that the Pens should have instigated a fight for this hit.......it was far cleaner of a hit than the Okposo hit and had less of an impact. Yet all of Canada was screaming about Morency retaliating and looking the other way when Matt Martin tried to extract justice. The Players decide on justice - and I suppose the Pens decided to extract justice. Brendan Witt was man enough to back it up by defending himself and not hiding. End of problem. Also, while I would *totally* understand such a reaction if it were Crosby or Malkin that Witt hit (and he has before) - "Tank" is not exactly their best player ( though a valuable one - he played here - we know!) and the Pens decided to back it up. Ok by me. Situation dealt with. Just sorry that the WRECKER was not the guy to take on one of their guys. The fight itself was secondary to both the decision to drop gloves by the Pens and the player's (Witt) decision to stand up and defend himself. Refs properly assessed instigation penalty and it cost Pens a power play goal against. End of story.

Man I don't know about these fights after clean hits.. but I also don't see how you can call this other than a draw. They each got a couple shots in.
