Carcillo did what he was brought to Philly to do. Hard to critcize him for that. Talbot getting whipped only showed his teammates he would do what was needed to spark them. Billy Guerin called it a BIG deal what Max did .
Talbot is an average fighter at best ( one fight this year ). It showed, but since the Pens responded with a comeback and win...the fight will get some credit for sparking the comeback.

Crosby sinks the Flyers again. When will their fans figure out that he can play?

Carcillo with the convincing win. People shouldn't take other people so seriously on this site. People that write their comments trashing other teams and fans etc only do so to get a reaction and piss people off. I knew a guy like that, but then he grew up. It might happen one day.

Also, Talbot can throw them fine, just as people may talk about "other fighters" picking spots, (Lucic I can safely assume I am sure) which is false about him as well, Carcillo did no such thing here either. Look at players' history before deciding for yourself if they are a "fighter" or not. Not to say Talbot is a very good fighter mind you, but he has thrown down with stronger guys than Carcillo before. Yes, and promptly lost those too. However, he will still throw down regardless.

My other qualm - I don't really think this fight could have had much to do with the final outcome. Watching a teammate get thumped isn't as effective as having two of the best players in the NHL on your team, and a goalie that is capable of absolute brilliance at any given moment, in this game and for much of the series, exactly when it needed to be. Yes, Carcillo won the battle, but Pittsburgh definitely won the war.

Oh, and one yahoo saying Flyers have no real fighters. I love Cote and feel for his constant beatings, but Asham is as real of a fighter as they come.

On a side note (sorry this is a book and not related to fights at the moment), this San Jose/Anaheim game tonight is one of the more exciting games I have seen. Well, the second period anyways... a pleasant surprise to say the least!

This one was ALL Carcillo. Still, didn't change the ending of this series.

Carcillo wins, but has no class for hitting Talbot while he was down

I wonder what everyone would say if Carcillo had balked and not fought and the Penguins scored 30 seconds later? Carcillo with the win. The reason the Pens won is they scored more goals. Not that they "stood up" to the big bad Flyers, or drew them into fisticuffs, or some such other nonsense. I don't see how this was a stupid decision on Carcillo's part. He was challenged and chased into the fight. Talbot got what he wanted. I don't see any assist awarded for the next goal. If the Flyers had scored, what about the fight then?

come on..........go to the school of commn sense.

EASY win for Carcillo, but HUGE moral victory for Pittsburgh.

carcillo with the win and the cheap punches when talbot was down.

stupid move for carcillo. the flyers had the momentum and the game in hand and he shouldn't have fought talbot at all at this point. he is to stupid to know when to walk away

Danny Boy with the win and it's time for Golf. Carcillo is a team killer and I have no clue what the Flyers want with a player like that. No self control, no discipline and all for himself. Your leading 3-0 and Max Talbot chirps in your ear (who you know well and played in WB with him for years) and you say to yourself, "I can pound this guy and show boat a little." And that you did ............and before you knew it the game was tied. The best off season move for the Flyers, get rid of Carcillo and the racoon recruit a valid heavy weight. The Flyers are a solid team but always end up paying for there so called tough guys.

Yeah, OK Ray Brown...

Why don't you meet him behind the internet at 3 p.m?

Talbot was definitely overmatched in this one -- a 3 or 4 fighter going against a 8 or 9 fighter. No big punches landed, but he just slowly got beat to the ice.

Carcillo with the W and I'd give it maybe a 4. I'd ask Carcillo & Co if they wish they could take it back though.

Wow Carcillo almost reminded me of Probie in this one!

Carcillo with the W, but the Pens used this to their advantage. I loved how the crowed stopped shouting "Crosby sucks!". Flyers suck, go Pens!!

I am a Flyer fan but this may have been the DUMBEST fight in Flyer history. MVP of the series is Maxime Talbot. Carcillo must go!!!

ps: BattleAss is the biggest pu$$y on this site. Meet me anywhere f*gg*t.
