Orr dominated the fight...like he is supposed to do...cause that's about all Orr can do...he is only a fighter really. Nolan fought Orr hard. He didn't lie down or try to hold on for dear life. Nolan fought knowing he would probably get beat but he didn't quit, turtle, or give up. Nolan never has accepted rough treatment and he never will. That's OK, he is a old warrior and he isn't afraid of anyone. Nolan is tough and he fought with honour....pure and simple. Plus, Nolan can play hockey and has scored more goals in a single season than Orr will probably score in his whole career. He has been an all-star....remember the 'called shot' top shelf?

Nolan did about as good as anyone outside of Godard or Belak could hope for. Tucked his chin in and pumped best he could, I'm pretty impressed by the old boy. Still giving the edge to Orr, seemed to land a little more. I'd just love to know what Orr said at the end there too to get the little bopper. Wasn't no thang, I don't think Orr cared, didn't seem to be thrown with any real intent. Probably just said something mean about Koivu or something. Not a bad fight all told, called it a 6.

Orr in a pretty short fight

Why is Orr so eager to fight Nolan? Guess he wants to keep his win percentage up. Good for Nolan though for sticking in there. He's more of a man any day.

Nolan has always been a tough guy and a great player. Orr is simply a better fighter. It was an interesting go, but Orr is just to big and strong for Nolan to match up well at this stage of his career.

Orr won. All the other verbage doesn't mean a thing. Owen had the "canjoes" to fight. Owen has been "the Man" wherever his skates took him. Orr younger, bigger, but it wasn't a beat down I don't care who your home team is.

Orr easily. I wish Boogaard was playing, that would be a scrap....

Orr just pounded Nolan. I give him credit for stepping up but its against the wrong guy.

edit.

Ok so apparently some of you don't have eyes. Nolan fought and threw punches, yes. However, he tucked his head and looked like a 5 year old in his first fight. he had NO idea what to do, he was practically hiding while trying to throw random punches hoping they would land.

I watched this game and found it more than fitting that nolan took a whooping. Orr had a clean body check in which Nolan retaliated with a cross check and choice words. If you are going to react like that to a heavyweight be prepared to fight. Nolan is still a tough SOB (look at his fights even recently) he usually beats his opponent down. Just because he doesn't fight often doesn't mean he can't fight. He was outclassed here though, but did get a punch in. Overall though Orr with an easy beatdown in a typical Orr slug-em out type of fight. Orr and Godard still the top 2 "FIGHTERS" in the league. They will lose there share and take there punches but they go "toe to toe" in every fight. Belak is also having one heck of a year but hate the swingem and wingem style.

Im kinda surprised at Orr. I dont remember the last time he took an extra 2 for a fight. Howd Torts like that one? I wasnt able to watch the game so I dont know the outcome; did Minny score on that PP?

Orr along with Goddard, two of the best. Period!
Some of you jokers make it look like Nolan is a runner up for the Lady Byngh...gimme a break! He's a pretty good scrapper, but he lost the best.

whaaaat the f**k?>??? why is Orr taking a run at a guy like Nolan? he's like 40. props to nolan for actually dropping the gloves... i'm calling it a draw simply because i can't bring myself to award Orr with a W for this. its like me going and kicking an old dog while its asleep

Clear win for Orr. As much as I really like Owen Nolan and respect him, that was a bit of a cheap shot at the end.

goon your a goon! ok enuff of that stuff. but seriously, you act like orr was picking on lil nolan. he gave him a clean check and nolan cross checked him and came at him. orr is the enforcer so what does he do when someone comes after him? ....he does exactly what he did. also say what you want to say about how tuff nolan is (and it may very well be true) but he knee jerked reacted to getting cleanly checked and then had second thoughts after see seen just who checked him
