Even though the fight was essentially a draw, I'm giving it to Boynton for justifiably responding to a series of cheap-shot cross-checks by Mara.

way to go after him and hug him. Draw.

I haven't known, that price for crosschecking is one big hug.....

No fight. Mara was like that when he was with Coyotes. Would act like a "bad ass" until his bluff was called.

that looked really dangerous and vicious when mara crosschecked that dude into the boards. i thought he should have got a big misconduct just for that. i think boynton did the right thing going after him there; it was a dirty shot

however, boynton failed to deliver any kind of assbeating, so the fight was a hugfest draw. idk who was the instigator of the hugging, but i will assume it was mara since he usually likes to break up fights rather than participate in them

I just don't get Mara this year. Last year he played soft just like Rosy. This year hes stepped it up and played with a meaness and edge to his game. Except when its time to drop the gloves. I think he would hug on Crosby to not have to fight him. Anyway this shouldve been 2 for roughing. Crap fight. Draw.

MCB- I can understand why you hate on the Rangers being Flyers division rivals, but the Bruins? Makes no sense.
I bet you can't wait for tomorrow when Orr gives Cote his usual beatdown. HAHAHA.

wow, rangers and panthers. somebody should have fought to reprieve both teams of such a sh*tty display of combat skills. Defending a player on your team, comes with responsibilities. One, make sure it's deserved. In this case Boynton's mate crumbled and really played out the drama on a cross check near the half wall, made it look a lot worse than it was.... I mean he got to his knees rather quickly. Two, check the setting. Tie game, Mara was being called for it, the guy wasn't dead (just playing dead), face-off in zone. Instead Boynton takes bad penalty and evens it up, brings the face-off out, and doesn't do a damn thing. What a waste of time and effort. A great example of a player trying to abide by the code, but failing to do so.

Watching Flyers Rangers now and Mara just went with Asham. Refs came in quick and announcers said Mara has had hand injury. Went straight to locker room after another hug fest. That being said, and its no excuse, he shouldnt be cross checking people from behind if your not physically capable of defending your actions. Meanwhile, this bout shouldn't even qualify as a fight. Draw and rated a 2

Mara is king of the huggybear. I am still waiting for him to actually attempt to throw a punch in a fight so far in his pitful 3 fights. hes a solid defenseman but my god

did someone call that a "fight"...? I had to weigh in because I'm tired of reading the garbage from MCB. This comment field is for grown-ups who happen to have a passion for hockey, and a fair amount of intelligence. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but let's try and use some common sense, ok...? Enough said.
