i'm sure i'll be in the minority, but nobody lost. can't have a winner without a loser.

Posted by habscuprun on February 04, 2009 at 12:20 AM

pay attention...laraque's been out with an injury for 2 months now

Posted by SigNuSippin on February 05, 2009 at 10:39 PM

Godard got a fews shots in but too many Bear Hugs from both to be considered even a decent fight.

Posted by stevemcgraw1 on February 04, 2009 at 06:10 PM

two goons with very little hockey skills

Posted by fighter85 on February 04, 2009 at 03:07 AM

Godard did not win this fight. He was very rough at the time of the fight but Henry was better.BRAVO Henry!

Posted by foiler on February 04, 2009 at 04:53 AM

Zzzzzzz. Has there ever been a fight where the homer announcers didn't pimp their guy?

Posted by jhicks on March 27, 2009 at 06:34 PM

back 2 the minors alex

Posted by ChiefJunior on February 04, 2009 at 04:15 PM

Godard with the win. But really some of you people on here have no clue, or are just plain ignorant when it comes to fights. To say Henry called (calls) the ref in to stop the fight---really? Id love to know how you all know this. How do you know what any of the linesman/fighters are saying? As for cowarding from a punch--you gotta be kidding. Do you really think that any fighter likes to take a punch squarely to the face? (don't care what their fighting style is). Do you also actually think a guy (could be any fighter really) whos had a probably 100 or so fights if not more, actually is scared to get hit? Id love to see some of you stand in there and go--toe to toe.

edge godard in boring fight

Posted by Gunslinger on February 04, 2009 at 06:24 PM

Remind me again why the Canadiens brought up Henry. They already had guys who lose every fight. What do they need him for?

Posted by Dampland on February 05, 2009 at 06:27 PM

Henry just wanted to hug and grab. At least Goddard tried to fight. GODDARD wins

Posted by nycbob on February 04, 2009 at 10:40 AM

Godard dominates the heavy weights - BS. He beat orr once - that puts his record at 1-15 against orr. He beats this henry guy who'll be back in the AHL by march.

Posted by nighthawk walt on February 04, 2009 at 06:51 PM

Henry can't fight, send him back to Hamilton.Godard with the win.

Posted by RebelliousArmy on February 04, 2009 at 12:52 AM

This wasn't one of the best fights for Godard he was busy enough to land a few good shots and henry didn't do much of anything. So godard with a win on a not so great fight.

Posted by BlackgoldBears on February 04, 2009 at 09:06 AM

Godard with the win. At 56 seconds in when he pushes Henry into the boards, it looks like Henry singals for the refs to com in and break it up, he turns his head toward the ref and says something, and the refs jump right in. Same thing happened in the Thornton fight. This kid is not doing his job. Send him back down to the minors. These fight may not be domination, but Henry is clearly losing. If he keeps this up he is going to get hurt badly. To those of you that are giving the W to Henry, please actually watch the video before you vote.

Posted by cwgatti on February 04, 2009 at 03:01 PM

Looks like Goddard and Orr are the top 2 heavies in the NHL

Posted by Behn Wilson on February 05, 2009 at 10:24 PM

Up and coming kid, meet the champ and his left hand. At least Henry looked semi-menacing in something other than the ''cat in the hat uniform of his last fight.

Posted by wallysy1 on February 04, 2009 at 11:27 PM

henry--hmmmm not sure what his story is.... godard wins....

Posted by bloodyknuckles2 on February 04, 2009 at 03:03 AM

Godard continues to dominate the heavyweights. Win God. Little shout out from Austria to his bro Chris.

Posted by Cid on February 04, 2009 at 08:19 AM

Henry did the same thing in the Thornton fight, got whacked hard, turns his back and cowers away. He clearly doesn't like to take a punch to give a punch. Win Godard.

Posted by paddyd on February 04, 2009 at 01:01 PM

EG with the W but give Henry a lot of credit for hanging in there and keeping at it.

Posted by bouch19 on February 04, 2009 at 10:09 AM

Iron fist teaches the ol bum! is this fight in L,A??? talk about crappy cam work! Win the champ!

Posted by siouxfan1 on February 05, 2009 at 12:06 AM

Goddard with the win. Two loses in a row for the big boy!!

Posted by Poop Jack Pappy on February 04, 2009 at 06:57 PM

Not a bad fight.Goddad delivered the best blows. Winner Goddard

Posted by capsfloors on February 04, 2009 at 06:40 PM

Not a great fight by any means but a slight edge for Godard

Posted by ibled4theusa on February 05, 2009 at 03:43 PM

Better than some.

Posted by tattooedkingpin on February 04, 2009 at 11:11 AM

Henry held his own til the end. Godard takes the W at the end

Posted by moneybags on February 04, 2009 at 01:28 AM

after losing to thornton ,now goddard,, its time to send alex back to the minors before he gets hurt ,the callup is not working

Posted by staceyb on February 04, 2009 at 07:11 PM

Godard rolled and smoked Henry. To his credit Henry stayed on his feet--and back to the minors.

Posted by hal29 on February 04, 2009 at 10:32 PM

win godard but i wouldn't say he is the best fighter by any means!!!

Posted by bruins rule on February 04, 2009 at 07:45 AM

godard gets the win in this fight.

Posted by Jack_Edwards on February 04, 2009 at 12:01 AM

I thought Godard would kill him based on the job Shawn Thornton did the other night. Either way, I don't see why they'd play Henry instead of Laraque...both horrible hockey players, but at least Laraque is a good fighter.

Posted by jlmcgui on February 05, 2009 at 07:51 PM

Send Henry back to the minors (oh, they just did!). Different jersey, same result, another LOSS for Henry.

Posted by Canadiens100 on February 04, 2009 at 01:53 PM

godard with the W. godard is one of the top 3 heavies IMO. he is a classy and respected player.it was a descent fight. henry seems to punch in slow motion or something with nothinh substantial connecting. godard landed the hardy more accurate punches.

Posted by Hendo67 on February 04, 2009 at 12:26 AM

Godard with the W, here. I've noticed Henry calling the refs in during this fight and the one against Shawn Thornton.

Posted by MatchPenalty on February 04, 2009 at 06:17 PM

Part of the learning curve for Henry, he knows as well as anybody that he's likely to lose his first handful; he's taking on tough guys at least. Habs fans should be thankful to have him in the lineup because Kostopolous and Komisarek aren't getting it done, mainly becuase they're wet and soft (like a certain part of the female anatomy); and your trump card BGL doesn't appear to be coming back any time soon.

Posted by MajorGroove on February 04, 2009 at 10:54 PM

I watched this one with high hopes......it was a low carb strawberry beer....just "ok". Godard gets a slight edge for landing the only good shots of the fight. Glad to see the Habs not wearing those horrible throwbacks from Sunday.

Posted by lefthook25 on February 06, 2009 at 05:35 PM

Montreals record in fights is about 2-50. Add another L to montreals team fight record this year.

Posted by tyler1 on February 04, 2009 at 06:44 AM

Godard won the fight w the haymakers at the very end. Until that point, the fight could have cured insomnia.

Posted by JMiller29 on February 04, 2009 at 07:29 AM

2 big guys locking out looking for the big bomb, while avoiding the same. As Henry disgraces the 24, Lyle Odelein is turning over in his grave...or at least shifting uneasily in his Barcalounger.

Posted by The Gaffer on February 04, 2009 at 09:48 PM

Win to Godard for the only clean blows landed and there not too many of them, Henry did not seem to want to trade whereas Godard is more than happy to go toe to toe. Credit to Henry though he stuck in there and did not flop like a seal like some of the 'so called heavyweights' seem to do to easily for my liking (see Parros). So we know Henry can wrestle, now he just needs to learn how to punch and he may do ok.

Posted by Tweeks on February 04, 2009 at 05:19 PM

Henry should give passing, skating, and shooting one more try before he drops the gloves again.

Posted by GSP09 on February 04, 2009 at 07:50 PM

Edge to Godard but not as much as the announcer sounds .

Posted by Clark75 on February 04, 2009 at 06:18 PM

Alex Henry is Laraques replacement while he's off blogging? What a joke this guy is. He's not Montreal's answer for a tough guy that's for sure.

Posted by kevinstevens on February 04, 2009 at 07:16 PM

Godzilla with a decent win in the tussle. He's been good as of late.

Posted by pmarz1 on February 04, 2009 at 09:46 AM

Gotta give the kid credit, he's game but Thorton and now Godard? Sorry son, you are out of your league at the moment. Godard showed good patience, wasted no energy, and landed several good punches as a result. Godard with the wn. p.s.-cant wait to hear mcb's take on this one.

Posted by Juha82 on February 05, 2009 at 02:36 AM

EDGE Godard, landing couple of good punches.

Posted by powerball on February 11, 2009 at 07:28 AM

goddard in a win. i think henry was just along for the ride. he is a big one. props to goddard, the nhl best.

Posted by b.t.wilson on February 04, 2009 at 09:33 AM

Not the most exciting Godard fight, but he seemed to have a smart fight with Henry, kept him at bay while landing a few, and gets the win.

Posted by MNBonecrusher on February 05, 2009 at 07:41 PM

Nice fight, edge to Godard

Posted by tonydomi1 on February 07, 2009 at 01:38 PM

Henry is out of his league going after these heavies. Godard has to be in the top three in the heavyweight class. Love the switch to lefty by Godard as he tagged with two hard shots. Godard should go on a roll now after exorcising the demon of Colton Orr.

Posted by adambomb13 on February 04, 2009 at 06:34 AM

Eric landed a couple of his stinger missiles , Henry hung on until the end when the beat down was imminent.. Eric you da man !

Posted by prorobo on February 04, 2009 at 03:05 PM

Godard with the win. Henry has proven to be utterly useless so far. I think his 15 minutes of fame in the show are up.

Posted by digitalroc on February 11, 2009 at 09:50 PM

Another W by Godard. Tough to fight the tall guys with the extended reach.

Posted by Towmater on February 04, 2009 at 01:53 PM

Godard is a beast, someone explain to me why the Flames let him go.

Posted by kilroy123 on February 04, 2009 at 07:16 AM

win goddard

Posted by 71PensAllDay28 on February 16, 2009 at 08:58 PM

Henry had 1 or 2 good punches but Godard ducks and waits for the perfect time to let one loose, a few loose for this matter. Godard won no doubt.

Posted by kmd19 on February 06, 2009 at 09:06 AM

I give Godard the win for landing the more effective shots. Looks like Henry is 0-2 in his return to the bigs.

Posted by J.R. Abel on February 04, 2009 at 08:25 PM

Godard with the W. Used his left well and landed well enough to get the win. Henry had a big black swollen eye shrtly after this bout.

Posted by Muscles on February 05, 2009 at 07:15 PM

All Godard; he knows how to handle the big guys.

Posted by Lister100 on February 04, 2009 at 09:39 AM

Edge Godard Great fight by Henry. Keep in mind that he's filling some big shoes right now. Most fighters that come out of the AHL would be on their @ss fighting this guy. He might be 6-5 or 6-6, but he's not 250 lbs like Parros or Ivanans. He did what he had to do well enough that the players responded resulting in the win. Apparently Laraque trained him in the last practice. I remember Domi did the same thing for Belak. Hope they try to make something out of this guy. Good show.

Posted by mburnett on February 06, 2009 at 06:26 PM

When your 6'6" stand and throw stop holding

Posted by Pittsburgh Dan on February 04, 2009 at 11:15 PM

Posted by joeye4 on February 05, 2009 at 06:35 AM

Posted by boxerlavean5 on February 04, 2009 at 12:11 AM

Win Godard

Posted by Jellyczar on February 05, 2009 at 09:35 PM

Godard is one tough cookie. and made easy work of Henry with only lefts...

Posted by mikebflorida on February 04, 2009 at 09:47 AM

Godard schools Henry in this fight. This really shows why Henry has been in the AHL for so long. He's ballsy and will fight anyone but he just isn't at the top heavyweight level despite having the size. Voting shows 25% draw?? WTF? Are some of you that incredibly blind or just stupid? I'll go with the latter.

Posted by BattleAxe13 on February 04, 2009 at 07:31 AM

I like this Alex Henry, he's taking on some of the best in the league. Unfortunetly he is not yet in the same class as Godard and Godard gets the win in this one. Still a good fight for Henry.

Posted by Hell of a TILT on February 04, 2009 at 09:23 AM

Henry is a big dude, but he had better learn how to defend the "left's" if he wants to be a heavyweight in the show........That's 2 straight loses for the kid by the left hand.......They must throw all "rights" in the minors.......Win for Godard!

Posted by BAAAAANNERMAAAN on February 04, 2009 at 10:31 AM

no production from henry as Godard controlled this fight.....

Posted by kimocoyote on February 04, 2009 at 12:38 AM

Win Godard. Henry 2 loses in a row.

Posted by bruiseyoureye on February 04, 2009 at 01:04 PM

godard with total domination in this one.........godard just pummeled this man....godard the godzilla....by the way....why do so many of you call henry a rookie?....he has a total of 36 fights in the nhl....with edmonton, washington, minnesota and montreal.........unless you call a guy with 36 nhl fights a rookie?......???

Posted by Belak_Norris on February 04, 2009 at 11:26 AM

Goddard with the win against another guy bigger than him! Booggard, Fritz, Macantyre, now Henry, list goes on!

Posted by ghoke2 on February 04, 2009 at 10:34 AM

How can anyone watch this fight and call it a draw,or even give Henry the win,He had his a$$ handed to him Ten seconds after the fight started Henry was looking for some help from the refs.call the fight the way it was WIN GODARD

Posted by blackandgold4 on February 04, 2009 at 08:38 AM

i know the habs suck right now, but that cant even win a fight! this guys not even a good goon

Posted by fishquad on February 17, 2009 at 03:14 AM

nice job godard

Posted by Bruins29 on February 04, 2009 at 10:09 AM

Godard is defintely one of the best in the business. He schooled Henry here...switching hands and throwing the big rookie off his game.

Posted by crashandbang on February 04, 2009 at 01:35 PM

Win Godard. Eric easily out classes Alex in this tussle. Eric will soon be recognized as the heavyweight champ. Way better enforcer for the Pens than BGL was.

Posted by dogace on February 04, 2009 at 10:33 AM

pens fan,,give henry credit..jeeez..but anyway.my man god another win over a monster..i think you could give consideration for the best fighter in the league

Posted by Big Little Tank on February 08, 2009 at 09:19 PM

Good Fight. Haven't seen this in a while. Henry is pretty tough. Took some hard shots by Godard. Give Godard the Decision, BUT it was pretty close.

Posted by blackgoldfan on February 05, 2009 at 07:51 PM

alex henery is tryin his hands against some good fighters and does ok against one of the best here. but its not enuff as goddard gets a clear w.

Posted by sjmckenz1 on February 05, 2009 at 04:42 PM

clear win for the much smaller guy !

Godard with the edge in this one

Posted by lhayes1390 on February 04, 2009 at 11:15 AM

Great fight, over a minute of solid hits. Give the win to Goddard but it was close. Would have been better if the refs didn't step in, they ruined it.

Posted by datafortress on February 04, 2009 at 07:26 AM

nice fight win godard

Posted by azjim on February 04, 2009 at 05:48 AM

good lefts thrown by Godard (not the jersey jabs).

Posted by gmr133 on February 04, 2009 at 12:44 PM

One or two good punches by Godard halfway through, one or two more toward the end. Ok win for Godard.

Posted by habssuck on February 05, 2009 at 10:18 AM

Henry: 2 games, 2 fights, 0 punches landed In bout with Thornton, Henry raised his hand for refs to stop fight and "homer" MCD789 (worse than Jack Edwards) gives Henry the win! MCD789 Sucks! Habs are a bunch of pansies!

Posted by hockeyherman on February 04, 2009 at 06:07 PM

Henry's got the will and size to be a top fighter in the league he just needs to learn to fight. Godard handles him easily.

Posted by marinermoose38 on February 04, 2009 at 03:07 PM

Henry hung in there pretty good.. it wasn't dominating, but it was still a win for Godard. I give Henry credit, but Godard's a clear top-3 heavy in this league, he should have won this fight, and he did.

Posted by heyohmama on February 04, 2009 at 01:06 AM

Godard from start to finish. Only a few from Henry kept this from total domination. Go STARS!!
