Phaneuf lays out one of the Sedin boys with a big, clean open-ice hit in the Calgary zone.

As Bernier sees this go down, he immediately goes over and challenges Phaneuf and they drop the mitts.

Phaneuf looks like he's got the edge at the beginning, but as the fight continues, Bernier gets some shots in.

I'll call it a draw.

Nice Stevens style hit to start things off, and, however misguided the effort, props to Bernier for responding, despite it being a clean hit. Gotta love those old-new Vancouver uniforms. The original 'Dale Tallon'' colour scheme was a winner the first time out.

With all of the tough guys Vancouver now has, it was to bad Bernier had to be the one to step in... wish he did that more last year with Buffalo. Good hit by Dion... Draw

Too much hugging. I thought I was watching "dancing with the stars"...but give Bernier credit for coming after him. Crowd was chanting his name which was cool.

Nice of Bernier to stick up for his teammate. Too much holding.

finally the Sedin twins have a stand up guy that even can challenge guys like Phaneuf, although not much of a fight but still Bernier showed what happens if you mess with the twins this season, great hit by Phaneuf by the way :D

Nice hit by Phaneuf.

Bernier impresses me by standing up for his teammate, especially since he's not a fighter. However, they both wear visors and there wasn't much going on, so it's hard to call it much of a fight at all.

Phaneuf got a few uppercuts. For the most part, looked like they were dancing.
