Karmic forces are at work,
offering up a one-sided, justified, angry beat-down,
following a blind-sided, unjustified, late hit.

Bernier having a bonding moment with his new teammates as he was getting his butt kicked by Hamonic and they all showed concern. Good thing he had his back turned to Hamonic for much of the bout.

I don't understand why this warranted a fight. Bernier "bumped" the d-man- he clearly let up and didn't unload. Tramonica deserved the instigator, but the visor rule is a joke.

It would be so much more fun if his name was Harmonic. You could say " A 440 tunes up Bernier" , or " he used his pitch bender to flatten that guy" and so forth.

Going against the grain on this one...if you start a fight while wearing a visor, I have NO problem with the instigator call. I don't like that there was no call against Bernier for the hit, but since he didn't fight either, I guess the fighting major covered that.
As far as the refereeing goes, the problem is that refsare too damn inconsistent with the hits along the boards or to the head, so the players police it themselves, then the refs go overboard trying to regain "control" of the game. Just be f'n consistent with the whistle and none of this other crap will happen.

beazzy..the unsportsmanlike conduct penalty is for being an Islander-trust me-we deal with it every game for the last few years. For example before 2nd period started the refs informed islander coach jack capuano that hamonic was going to get an extra penalty for wearing his visor while fighting. Basically Colon Campbell telephoned the refs during intermission and told them to add this penalty. If they would have wanted to call it on their own wouldnt they have right after the fight happened?

Hamonic puts a whippin' on Bernier. Bernier let up on the check, Hamonic probably didn't need to smoke him, but Karma and a big right hand catches the pesky Bernier. The extra penalties must be continuing fall-out raining down from Toronto HQ for the Isles-Pens game. The rules in the NHL are so arbitrary some nights.

The check was late, the check was from behind, how Hamona-Hamona-Hamonic (Honeymooners fans anyone?) gets an instigator and misconduct just PROVES how the instigator rule is ridiculous, arbitrary and how it looks like the NHL is deliberately singling out the Islanders since and even during the Penguins game. Hamonic got a misconduct against Buffalo for tapping a guy after the whistle, Haley got a misconduct against Boston when he bumped a guy after the whistle, I believe Tavares got a slashing after getting kneed and then slashed after the penalty was called in the Penguins game. The officiating in this league is a joke.

Hamonic missed most of his punches and was quick at going for the takedown. However, Bernier did nothing but hold on and never threw a punch, so there is no doubt Hamonic won this fight.
