An open letter to Le Grand Stache: Call it a career. Surely you've put enough money away in your 401-(k) to live a comfortable rest of your life. Get out now while you can still remember your name.

KO Boulton. Have much respect for Parros, he's been a warrior, but it might be time to hang them up and call it a day.

Eric with the KO, good win for Boulton

Posted by bajo39 on December 15, 2013 at 11:45 AM

KO Boulton, obviously. Point I would like to make is that a lot of you are not giving enough credit to Boulton - he's outweighed in this bout by at least 25 lbs, which makes him more of a MW than a HW. It's a credit too him that he goes with guys like Parros and Orr. Real shame he doesn't get credit from the fans or his coach - he should be in the lineup every night, without question.

Posted by sedinfan on December 15, 2013 at 01:48 PM

I loved watching you over the years George, but time to hang em up. That was a good punch, not a great punch. If that punch does that much damage, a real punch may put you in a home.

Posted by mjdf13 on December 14, 2013 at 11:45 PM

Good tilt! Didn't give Boulton much of a chance, but gets the W.

Posted by shawnrocks on December 14, 2013 at 11:43 PM

right on the button KO

Boulton is a seriously underrated HW in the league. I would have him in the spoked B anyday of the week. Can seriously chuck em and had close to FOTY with Orr last yr. scores the odd goal too. I'm a massive fan and the isles should dress him every game. Fight was a draw until the stache gassed and caught a doozy he didn't even see coming. TKO city.

Posted by francoisleroux on December 15, 2013 at 02:13 AM

Most underrated heavyweight in the league... Boulton can take a punch, and man can he really throw!

unfortunately this could be the end to a classy fighter .too many concussions. watching BOULTONS fights .he is by far a better fighter than some give him credit for. he waits and then explodes usually late in fights .the guy is well schooled and fights them all.

Posted by nait on December 14, 2013 at 11:52 PM

was gonna call it a draw until the last

Posted by Jack Meoff on December 15, 2013 at 09:00 AM

Parros controls the fight, but gets turned around and Boulton lands the decisive blow. Kind of reminds me of the Scott-Orr fight, where Scott controlled but was hit with the defining shot. Win reluctantly to Boulton.

Posted by Behn Wilson on December 15, 2013 at 07:52 AM

Magnum uses his size to dominate for most of the fight at least until his legendary balance issues kicked in allowing Boulton to score a last second TKO by virtue of a wild Hail Mary right George... we love you but I'm starting to worry

Posted by canamrugby on December 20, 2013 at 12:21 AM

Not sure I'm a big fan of Boulton throwing that last hook, Parros looked like he was done and wanted out. Still give the W to Boulton.

Posted by IMPEACH on December 15, 2013 at 04:54 PM

Parros needs to take some time off. Boulton with the KO over the big guy.

Don't like seeing people so vulnerable. Parros paid for it after seeming in control.

Posted by adambomb13 on December 15, 2013 at 11:08 PM

After the stories of Gino Odjick came out, I hope Parros will consider his future and quality of life. George, you fought the good fight. Tons of respect to you.

Posted by shawn46 on December 16, 2013 at 01:05 PM

Parros was doing fine... until..... time to hang it up....

Posted by slavv on December 17, 2013 at 07:08 PM

Parros KO'd on an unexpected shot.....

Posted by fernben8 on December 15, 2013 at 06:10 AM

Parros and his ol' balance issue... He over throws a hard right and finds himself in a helpless situation. TKO. I hope he's OK, his career can't afford another concussion.

Posted by DICKJOHNSON on December 15, 2013 at 12:12 AM

Big George had control but that one big shot on the jaw gives Boulton the win. Hate seeing it but Parros should retire, his health and quality of life is more important

Posted by EK65 on December 15, 2013 at 12:36 AM

Boulton catches Parros in a tricky spot... classy head catch and let up by Boulton! Win and KO Boulton

Posted by mukmoe on December 17, 2013 at 05:53 PM

To bad Parros was winning until a great shot by Boulton. Time for George to hang up the gloves before he get's cooked hard.

Posted by iain991 on December 15, 2013 at 02:52 PM

The fight wasn't that spectacular...the KO at the end was the only deciding factor. Parros seems to have a glass chin this year. Hasn't been the same since the ice-inflicted KO earlier this year vs Toronto.

Posted by CheapSeats on December 16, 2013 at 07:55 PM

Maybe they shouldn't look at fighting itself as much as those who keep Ti

Posted by DARCY T on December 15, 2013 at 04:56 AM

good close fight.parros looked exhausted at the end but boulton kept going and caught parros with stinging boulton

Posted by von_swine on December 15, 2013 at 05:18 AM

Parros cant wait for 2013 to be over.... hope 2014 is better for Mr.Satche as Boulton folds him up w/that late right and puts his head back into the 'goldfish bowl'... no question, even though it was close the whole way, #36 flips the light switch and KO's big George..

Posted by omorales on December 14, 2013 at 11:58 PM

All EB, Parros is probably done.

Posted by tpr1960 on December 15, 2013 at 09:35 AM

Hahahahahahahahahaha, another Canadien loss, when the he!! are they gonna stop! They got pushed around by Philly the other nite now this! Really? Parros with the glass jaw this year. They'll never survive the playoffs.

Posted by srehm1 on December 22, 2013 at 12:03 PM

Boulton with a nice right to drop Parros. TKO win, Boults.

Posted by hughcares on December 15, 2013 at 09:31 AM

The great savior for Montreal gets sent to the quiet room for the second time this year. I think Princeton may be calling Parros and asking for their degree back. I believe you have to maintain a minimum IQ to stay in good standing with the school and Parros has certainly dropped a few points this year.

Posted by bruins34 on December 16, 2013 at 12:46 PM

Pound for pound, Boulton might be the hardest puncher in the league--even at this late stage in his career. He reminds me of THIS era's Joey Kocur: not the biggest guy, but, man, does he throw with some bad intentions. 'Stache might not be long for this line of work. He's willing and skilled at the fight game, but he seems to be at that point when concussions are a lot easier to come by. Before "the shot", I thought Parros was ahead on points, but that's academic at this point. @Habskick59: I think about 99% of the guys on here had good things to say about Parros. If anything, most worried that he might want to think about retiring before he damages his brain on a permanent basis from repeated traumas. I am a Bruins fan and hate the Canadians, but I don't want to see a guy's life cut short just because he wears a certain team's jersey. That's crazy

Posted by bigjcc526 on December 15, 2013 at 08:51 AM

Why do the Habs only get washed up enforcers who can't skate(Parros,BGL)and get rid of younger ones(Staubitz) or don't pluck them off the waiver wire(Maclaren,Gadzic). Win Boulton onthe strength of the TKO. Parros shouldn't fight anymore and retire. What a damn shame

Posted by rocky 1 on December 15, 2013 at 07:02 PM

George seems to have this fight in the bag and then he loses his balance and gets caught by Boton.Botons punch sends him to his knees for the TKO.

Posted by ghjkfdhgfd on December 15, 2013 at 01:39 AM

Bolts just knocked Parros into possible abyss

Posted by gorman0 on December 16, 2013 at 09:52 AM

Grandpa gets his ass kicked again. Boulton with the win

Posted by Mark1967 on December 15, 2013 at 10:00 PM

Boulton with the win.Parros left himself open for the big punch.

Posted by Habskick59 on December 15, 2013 at 10:11 AM

Why I can not believe some people making fun of of Parros. It's almost always the same peoples that take a pleasure to pound on the Habs player when he lose a fight. but when it's their player's team. Oh! they have of sort of excuse for example when it comes to Thorton of the bruins for what he did to Orpik. Have you seem the last two fights between those two ( Parros vs Boulton ) ? I don't think so Boulton has done much against Parros but this time, Parros got unbalanced by throwing a punch to miss bya inch and Boulton took advantage of it. That's it nothing else to say. Win for Boulton but if Parros is still with the habs in April10, 2013, he can take his vengeance. However, let's agree that Parros did led the fight until he got unbalanced @ the end. So for those who gave Boulton the full advantage shall get a very good pair of glasses.

Posted by Great Murray on December 15, 2013 at 10:25 AM

A great fight. It was even until Boulton caught Parros with a roundhouse right and ended it. Big George may need to go to work on Wall Street with his Ivy League degree...before his brain gets too scrambled to spell 'financial advisor'.

Posted by kevinrouleau on December 15, 2013 at 09:50 AM

KKKK.OOOOOOO.!!!!! Parros is out of the game!!!

Posted by dustyknuckles on December 15, 2013 at 11:21 PM

Well hate to say it but i think Parros needs to call it..... To many shots has taken its effect his brain is scrambled and weak. He takes a shot and he at this point has no choice but to fall im sure the whole rink spins like he is drunk..... He needs to hang them up before the lights go out and don't come back on.... We know who won

Posted by English_Bruin on December 15, 2013 at 06:11 AM

Boulton uses his brain and then brings Parros down to his size and puts his lights out.

I've had about 7 concussions in my life, mostly as a kid. I KNOW it's fudged me up. I think I'm only a year older than him and Parros has had as many in the last three years. I look forward to his post-enforcer career. He's a warrior. His career has been storied, and his words will have meaning now, and in the words of my buddy to his toddler son, "use your words, George." I bet there's a great book there. I pray he outlives the Boogy Man.

Win for Boulton, haven't seen Parros win too many decisions this year.

Posted by CairnsNYI33 on December 15, 2013 at 10:41 AM

Parros stops fighting and defending himself. Actually turns away from Boulton. Easy TKO for Boulton, but what is Parros thinking? That was strange.

Posted by boldbilly on December 15, 2013 at 06:48 AM

Parros was actually winning here and then got tagged with the big one...lets hope he is okay.....full credit to Boulton ........he never seems to get the full credit he richly deserves....tko win to Boulton........ever since the cowardly Orr bull dogged George to the ice, he hasn't been the same.........stay away for a while and get better George, before attempting a comeback.

Posted by sulley71 on December 16, 2013 at 12:39 AM

Agree with a lot of people that Parros should think about hanging up the skates. He'd be great in the booth, radio or whatever!

Posted by LouCat40 on December 15, 2013 at 06:31 PM

Parros had control of the fight until he missed badly and Boulton countered him. Tough break for a guy who has now been concussed badly twice in three months.

Posted by Slingshot1 on December 15, 2013 at 09:58 AM

Why is Parros still playing? It really isn't worth the risk for him at this point.

Posted by vanmanmonti on December 21, 2013 at 12:36 PM

Parros appeared on his way to a victory via points. Then Boulton went BOOM and out went the lights.

Posted by Biggus on December 15, 2013 at 12:50 PM

Wow. Parros has been a lot better this year, but Boulton gets him twisted and then lands that right ot the chin. Makes me wonder if Parros is 100% yet after his injury on the Orr fight. Behn Wilson sums it up.

Posted by buzzgun2000 on December 15, 2013 at 07:25 PM

It would be a shame to see such a smart, entertaining and generous guy suffer permanent brain damage from staying in the game too long. First Probert and then Boogaard. It's just not worth it.

Might be time to put the stache on the shelf. Tough dude, but I think he's seen his better days.

Posted by Lupac on December 15, 2013 at 06:55 PM

TKO win here for the long time scrapper Eric Boulton. I hate to say it, But Mister George may have to consider hanging it up after this season. The stache just isn't enough anymore. Nothing else to be said here. The fight says it all, and I still have a big penis. Good day gentlemen.

Posted by Canto34 on December 15, 2013 at 02:12 PM

Pretty even up til the chin shot. Edge to Parros before that, and I am Isles fan. Hope Parros is ok. Very impressed with Boulton since he's become an Islander. Only he and Tavares have done their jobs this year (maybe add Okposo, too). Hope they keep him in the lineup the rest of the season, cause we suck and need something to be proud of.

Posted by bigmike53 on December 15, 2013 at 12:16 AM

Bolton and parros in a spirited fight. Big George gets caught and it is a tko for boulton.

Posted by tyrone on December 16, 2013 at 02:17 PM

Parros was ahead clearly, but got tired and like many other fighters, forgot what to do when tired, and that is hang on. He is 2-1 against Boulton, and should not fight the rest of the year. Back in my day, I suffered the "C-word" and that forced me to retire. You're never the same.

Posted by EGodard49 on December 16, 2013 at 12:25 PM

Might be time to hang them up George. You have entertained us for many many years, you will go down as one of the best personalities in the game and just a class act. One of the best heavyweights of the past decade... Dont wait until it's too late...

Posted by zigphil on December 15, 2013 at 03:55 PM

hockey fighting today is what gladiator fighting was 2000 years ago. However entertaining it may be, it should be and will be outlawed. The deaths of 3 hockey fighters in the last 2 years, and the repeated Parros concussions (see last one vs. Boulton) should wake us up to this need. Lets drip the addiction and find something more healthy to do. human life is more important that a little thrill for bored guys hungry for ways to let some steam out.

Posted by TheHunn on December 15, 2013 at 04:03 PM

Classic win for Boulton. He is a long-haul fighter, tends to come on late when most guys tire. An underappreciated player as well. Has an NHL hat-trick among his career stats. I hope Parros is OK. You have to assume he's OK to go if he's out on the ice. Why else would he be out there? TKO Boulton.

Posted by johnnyrock555 on April 02, 2014 at 02:39 AM

I cringe when I see George get hit like that.

Posted by Reggie Fleming on December 18, 2013 at 11:37 PM

Call me crazy, but I think Boulton won.

Posted by GreatDane on December 16, 2013 at 02:08 PM

Parros all the way until he took one on the chin. I thought Boulton was gonna get hurt the way George was swinging. That was a good punch Boulton threw, George had his bell rung and I hope he takes time to think about his career for a bit. Hate to see any of them get hurt..... ok, maybe Charra

Posted by Ronnie82 on December 15, 2013 at 08:55 PM

Oh hot damn!!! What a nice KO win for the underdog I think Orr and the Bell centre ice have ruined Parros's chin for good. I expect more KO losses coming his way in the future. He needs to hang em up if this trend of getting KTFO continues.

Posted by enzoskis on December 14, 2013 at 11:53 PM

Boulton may be the second coming of Stan Jonathan as Parros may never be the same after this whooping.

Posted by endor on December 15, 2013 at 09:59 AM

Big George early until the Boulton bomb leveled him to end the fight.

Posted by BruinsAllDaySon on December 17, 2013 at 01:51 PM

I am at this point concerned with Parros' long term mental health. Concussions are so much worse than 95% of people seem to think they are. Think about hanging them up big guy, you've had a great run.

Posted by King of Goons on December 19, 2013 at 11:21 PM

Who are the dimwits who voted for Parros? His parents? Boulton is a killer. Best fighter in the league on any given day. He's KO'd Parros and TKO'd Orr this year. Who's next?

Posted by Love_the_Isles on April 06, 2014 at 10:58 AM

Boulton is a bad man. Good at outlasting other fighters and really connected twice at the end after Parros tired.

Posted by The Bee on December 16, 2013 at 01:27 PM

I used to watch Boulton play for the Charlotte Checkers back in the early 90's. The guy is a warrior with a huge heart. Parros is a class act. I hope George can continue in the future.

Posted by jcholmes on December 15, 2013 at 11:09 AM

Boulton: gets better with age, very underrated. Parros: might have been his last fight. Been laying on the ice too often, probably thinks he's a Ranger. Isles: 2 KOs in the past 2 years.

Posted by snowave on December 16, 2013 at 01:46 PM

as others have noted, Parros had the edge until that lucky connect. No disrespect to Boulton, however. I don't think Parros is washed up as a fighter... he's just had a couple real unlucky incidents here lately. That being said, I'd not be the least be unhappy if he retires and saves his noggin.

Posted by Kana on December 15, 2013 at 10:59 AM

The end of this fight seemed odd. Parros seemed to withdraw before Boulton finished him off…as if Parros hurt his hand or something. Anyway, kudos to Boulton for a good scrap vs a bigger opponent.

Posted by brownie21 on December 16, 2013 at 02:38 PM

A great example of a well placed shot to the jaw. Boulton with the win, of course, in a really good bout. It was pretty even until the end, though.

Posted by 29th_Candidate on December 15, 2013 at 12:45 AM

Wow. Boulton unloads a flush bomb right on the Stache's chin and put him on the ice. Big George looked like he didn't know where he was for a few seconds. At least a TKO, possibly a KO win - Boulton

Posted by FHgrad99 on December 16, 2013 at 02:51 AM

Parros seemed to have the edge for a good portion of the fight but Boulton caught him with some good ones late which rung Parros' bell pretty good.

Posted by Amerkfan8 on December 15, 2013 at 12:03 AM

Not a KO but Parros looked shaken up there at first by that wild swing. He looked ok skating off but after the injury earlier this year you have to wonder about the impact. Hope he's ok.

Posted by kkdowning on December 15, 2013 at 09:42 AM

Parros wins 90 percent of the fight, but lost the last 10% that counted. It might be time for Parros to call it a career before he suffers lasting damage.

Posted by SouthPaw017 on December 16, 2013 at 04:37 PM

It was only a matter of time before that sweater sucked all of Curious George's fighting ability and toughness right out of him...... Good scrap regardless, Boulton got lucky with the one to the chin, but sometimes, that's all you need.... one lucky shot....

Posted by 5minmajor420 on December 15, 2013 at 12:30 PM

For all of you haters on Boston's least he doesn't suck as bad as this joke of an announcer. Isn't there a golf game he could be covering or something?? No excitement whatsoever...but then again he DOES have to watch the Islanders play every night, that could rob anyone of the joy of hockey. Decent fight until Parros' stache met Boulton's fist.

Posted by DuaneSutter on December 16, 2013 at 05:24 PM

Parros had the reach and size advantage, but sometimes it only takes one punch. A good haymaker in this case. Too bad he got concussed as a result.

Posted by probie4life on December 15, 2013 at 02:51 AM

Ok fight clear win for Boulton. That announcer for MSG is an idiot. He says "This was a staged fight, the fans like them and the players don't seem to mind but these are the fights that people around the league bla bla bla" SHUT UP! The fans and players like the fights ENOUGH SAID! After all those 2 sets of people are the only reason that you and people around the league have jobs!

Posted by TERMINATOR on December 15, 2013 at 03:11 AM

Parrots should shut it down for the season....don't think he has quite recovered since the douchebag Orr pulled his face into the ice. Boulton KO

Posted by 87CROSBY87 on December 15, 2013 at 12:28 AM

Huge smile on my face after this one. TY Eric Boulton Awaits the "Logo de Toilet Seat Brigade" to try to convince us all that Parros actually WON this fight Somebody call the montreal police...

Posted by jimmat on December 15, 2013 at 12:05 AM

Boulton is a very strong dude. In this instance it was a pretty good, even scrap until Parros gets a little turned around and catches a sneaky right. Like the announcer said, Boulton outlasted Parros and throws the last punch of this fight. 7 and a KO. Don't get carried away with the Parros is done talk. He falls and hits the ice against Orr, and in this one gets caught in a position where he couldn't defend that right. He'll be back.

Posted by Kärppä on December 15, 2013 at 02:39 AM

Posted by BeastMode78 on December 15, 2013 at 12:02 AM

Posted by Madhouse27 on December 15, 2013 at 11:54 AM

The view was somewhat obscured, but it looked like Boulton caught him with a good one early on along the glass. That last punch was right on the kisser. I agree that Parros might want to take a breather for a while. He seems like a smart, entertaining guy that will certainly do good stuff after his playing days are over if he gets out with all his faculties intact.
