Eakin goes charging in
"a la Rousell"...
(the obvious difference being
that he has the class
and the wherewith-all
to de-lid first)

...and proceeds to alternate between
being tied up and swinging wildly...

...while Iginla calmly uses his experience
to eventually win on points

Iginla will always be a bad dude. Easy win.

J3fff - not sure who you're referring to but it's pretty obvious that he won the fight. I'd fear homerism if this site were riddled with votes for Eakin. Personally I have no dog in this fight at all; I'm a Sabres fan (don't all attack at once) who looks at each fight as objectively as I can. I would hope everyone else would do that too.

All Iggy, who was trying to rally his team, but as Kelly Chase said on NHL Network "Cody Eakin will be pointing to the scar on his forehead and telling his grandchildren, 'I got this from fighting the Hall-of-Famer Jarome Iginla.'"

He's got a point.

Good on Eakin for (1) going with Iginla and (2) dropping the visor. Of course, Opie got spanked by Iginla -- but it was worth it for him

Looks like Eakin is one of the new young players that needs a good old fashioned ass kicking before he stops the cheap shots. I imagine he'll get his one of these days.

Anyone saying Iginla was in any way cheap or over the top in this fight has issues with Iginla overall and is blinded by that. If you want to cry about him hitting the rook while he was going down can look at the mid point in the fight when Iginla slipped to a knee and the rook gave him a pop to the chops. I see Iggy with his right fist cocked when yhe kid is on the ice but not throwing, maybe I need to watch again. Btw...looks like Eakin got his first NHL broken nose in a fight lol.

No way that Iginla won. That was a clear draw. You guys counting punches need to count Iginla's also. Looked like 2 - 2.

Aside from trade rumours, this is the first mention of Iginla I have heard all season.
