Apr 24, 2004 Calgary Flames Jarome Iginla
3pd 19:36 Detroit Red Wings Derian Hatcher
Iginla slashes Hatcher and they both agree to go. As they drop the gloves Commodore tries to come in but is grabbed by McCarty and they scrap as well. Iginla still has his visor on, and lands a few on Hatcher who is a little off-balance. Hatcher gets Iginla's shield off, and through a lot of grappling they both get a few shots in with each hand. Hatcher tries to use his reach, but Iginla does a good job of getting inside. Iginla gets one more punch in and throws Hatcher down, then throws another punch on the ice. Other Penalties: Hatcher received a high sticking.

In my mind Iggy did bit better but not enough for the win.
A good bout without doubt as both shows their strenght plus heart.
Iggy took a couple more by Hatcher but not sure still.
But Iggy fights smartly taking over well in the end getting Derian to the ice.
A DRAW.

Draw, but Iginla throwing that punch at Hatcher after the take down angered me, although it is the kind of thing I now expect out of a player like him.

Look Hatcher may have of won the fight, but you got to give Iginla the draw for picking that fight with his team down and trying to fire up the troops. Hatcher should of dominated and he didn't.

Jerome fights with a visor on and still throwing a punch when Hatcher is on his back. Let's hope Jerome has learned the rules to NHL fighting since then. Bush League Jerome, Bush League.

Jerome loved to leave the helmet and visor on even back then.

When he fights a tough player, he leaves it on.

He's way tougher than that, and should man up. Take the helmet off and go.

Oh, and Jerome, after your opponent goes down, don't cheap shot him. Real tough guys have more respect for the game and players, and real fans appreciate it.

Hatcher wins close one.... minus two points for visor

Iggy is TOUGH! He definitely won that fight...especially considering the size difference. Iginla landed the majority of the punches, threw hatcher to the ice, and punched him in the process (nothing wrong with that, to the victor go the spoils),and the refs had to save Hatcher.

The fact that Iginla had a visor has nothing to do with the fact he kicked Hatcher's ass... and oh yes, after Iginla's helmet was removed, Hatcher didn't fair any better, in fact, he probably got beat a bit worse.
