McQuaid got the better hits in but Hendricks got the take down

Posted by Clark75 on February 05, 2012 at 03:47 PM

Draw. I see all the Bruins homers are on here voting for McQuaid. Also keep in mind, he was the first one to go down.

Improbable as it may seem, I think, that I may have just agreed with Pierre Maquire's analysis of a hockey fight??? Then again, I have a cold, and it's possible that this cough syrop is well past it's expiry date.

Posted by EdNo on February 06, 2012 at 05:01 PM

I agree with the peeps that call this bout a draw... six punches connect, and none were damaging

Posted by Double Nickels on February 10, 2012 at 03:32 AM

Glad to see McQuaid fight more, but this one does not go long enough.

Posted by ISYSpanther on February 07, 2012 at 07:43 PM

Draw at best. Hendricks threw McQuaid to the ground. Not that hard to do when both are on skates. Just because you threw more punches doesn't mean all of them hit or any of them did anything.

Posted by dontpokeTheBear on February 08, 2012 at 09:23 PM

draw but, this fight would have been bad news for MH in open ice.

Posted by fenians79 on February 06, 2012 at 07:07 AM

I don't see how Hendricks wins a fight he throws 1 punch in! The take down is the only thing that keeps it a draw for him as he was just holding on until they hit the ice.

Posted by cmich20 on March 01, 2012 at 01:20 AM

Draw. McQuaid with throwing the better punches but Hendricks with the take down

Posted by DARCY T on February 06, 2012 at 11:06 AM

draw.so hendricks was lucky i guess...4

Posted by bruiser11 on February 06, 2012 at 03:46 PM

Draw.

Posted by fernben8 on February 07, 2012 at 02:36 PM

Not much here, I saw it McQuaid early...Hendricks with a stronger finish. Draw.

Posted by kinga101 on February 07, 2012 at 11:37 PM

Sad to say Hendricks is the Caps enforcer. Hendricks with a short right to start then McQuaid with a flurry of right hand misses then Hendricks with a right/shove to knock McQuaid down. Very similar to their previous fight. This was a draw. McQuaid has yet to fight a legit heavyweight in his NHL career making it a little tough to assess how good he really is. Asham was probably the best fighter he has faced and that resulted in a decisive loss for McQuaid. I just can't understand why Rechlicz was sent down before this game or not dressing Erskine. You had Thornton challenging Brouwer for no apparent reason near the start of the game. It will be interesting to see if Buffalo shows any balls Wed. because they still haven't redeemed themselves for the cheap hit on Miller by Lucic. BigEdPVD - I don't think you would find anyone on this site that considers Konopka a true legit heavyweight or real good fighter. I'm talking about guys like McGrattan, Parros, Carkner, Orr, Kassian etc. and by the way, McQuaid has fought Konopka 3 times and has not exactly owned him with 2 close wins and a loss.

Posted by GreatMurray on February 05, 2012 at 03:05 PM

Good job by Hendricks, keeping McQuaid away from a skill guy. Tied up McQuaid no punches landed...I know Edward's will say McQuaid knocked him out but it was a draw.

Posted by mudman55 on February 06, 2012 at 07:58 AM

Draw -nobody landed anything. And McQ wasn't gonna "take Laich off the ice". Just holding him off after the tie-up, nothing more than that. Until Hendricks decided to play "Mr. Helper".

Posted by m4rine77 on February 06, 2012 at 08:46 PM

well first things first. mcquaid with the majority of the punches that don't land. and then hendricks with the solid takedown. i call it a draw. and where the hell did they get a roughing call from? he skated over there talked some sh*t and they both dropped the gloves...i see no roughing.

Posted by lbx28 on February 06, 2012 at 08:14 PM

draw and quader still rules

Posted by norm6269 on February 07, 2012 at 06:49 PM

Draw. Its amazing how some posters discredit Hendricks or any player willing to stand up. Half the dorks on here couldn't stand on skates let alone throw a punch on skates. Show a little respect to all the players we watch no matter what team.

Posted by smashem on February 05, 2012 at 03:53 PM

Pretty blah fight, Lucky for Hendricks he pushed Mickey down to be honest, but it is what it is.

Posted by Hatebgred on February 09, 2012 at 06:54 AM

Mcquaid is the only one that tossed a punch as the other guy held on for his life

Posted by BBB248 on February 05, 2012 at 03:09 PM

Hard to say it looks like McQuaid landed some of those punches in that flurry but that was about it

Posted by Bakes923 on February 05, 2012 at 04:30 PM

Not much of a fight, give the edge to McQuaid tho, just a slip at the end tho!!

Posted by Slayer89 on February 05, 2012 at 04:14 PM

Not a great fight by any means. As McQuaid was goin for the KO, Hendricks just wanted the takedown and to get the hell outta there. I think he left the stadium after that fight when he skated off that fast lol

Posted by hal29 on February 05, 2012 at 05:14 PM

Edge to quaida. He wanted to trade and do some damage and hendricks just wanted to hold on. Quiad slipped. King just so you know when a guy falls or slips doesn't mean the other guy wins and for those to say quaid doesn't fight anyone tough are a bunch of morons. Oh and how is the cup tainted? They won by physical play and hard work. The way a real team should win. Kind of like the old wings.

I dont give points for takedowns in hockey fights.

Posted by FightsOfHockey on February 07, 2012 at 06:35 AM

Edge to McQ

Posted by beretta804 on February 08, 2012 at 11:48 PM

Most punches by McQuaid. Take-down by Hendricks

Posted by The DZA on February 06, 2012 at 07:18 AM

Looks like the camera man was drinking Saturday night and couldnt handle the early afternoon assignment.

Posted by Jellyczar on February 06, 2012 at 08:09 AM

McQ wins over Mr. Helper Hendricks ...... not a lot of activity and Hendricks should have been tossed

Posted by bruins rule on February 05, 2012 at 02:30 PM

mcquaid gets the win in this fight.

Posted by 777Big on February 05, 2012 at 08:58 PM

McQuaid a heavyweight? He's listed at 190....Hendricks outweighs him. That's all the Caps have for an "enforcer"?

Posted by Hockey Man4 on February 05, 2012 at 03:54 PM

Nice win McQuaid.

Posted by BigEdPVD on February 05, 2012 at 04:17 PM

Kinga101...did you forget his win against Zenon Konopka earlier this week?

Posted by jnk07899 on February 06, 2012 at 10:40 AM

Why do you pathetic Bruin fans vote for your boys when they don't win?

Posted by staceyb on February 05, 2012 at 06:39 PM

Hendricks took him.

Posted by Tsujimoto on February 05, 2012 at 03:51 PM

Not a single punch landed so Hendricks gets the win via takedown

Posted by BrettB on February 06, 2012 at 02:35 PM

Looked to me that Hendricks got the only clean hits in. McQuaid swung violently and repetitively but seemed to miss. Close win to Hendricks.

Posted by Custombreaks on February 05, 2012 at 05:01 PM

Quirky Campbells Suck Hole Refs give Hendricks 2 for roughing. Are all the refs trying to blow Quirky so they can work the playoffs. Baby sitting the Bruins seems to be a familiar theme...its how they won their 2011 Tainted Cup

Posted by boldbilly on February 06, 2012 at 05:26 PM

Only Boston fans see Mcquaid as the winner here as usual they only see black/gold. MCQUAID LOSES TO A MUCH SMALLER MAN.........EMBARASSING........ BOSTON SUPPORTERS LIKE TO RE-CREATE AND MAKE THEIR OWN HISTORY.....TRULY LAUGHABLE.

Posted by original61957 on February 05, 2012 at 03:16 PM

Another Boston massacre , Hendricks taken off on stretcher and taken by ambulance to nearest hospital because of repeated " jackhammers" to his face, lucky to be alive. Oh,wait. I'm not from Boston.... draw!

Posted by robilook on February 07, 2012 at 03:40 PM

u can be a boston fan ..but seriously , if MCQUAID win here ..... is cuz i dont know what a fight is all about ! .... MCQUAID is truly a heart fighter and i like him , but here ..i would say avantage to ...hendricks

Posted by bigbadboy98 on March 02, 2012 at 01:01 PM

easy win for hendricks...everytime adam mcquaid fight a good fighter he loose..

Posted by kari takko on February 06, 2012 at 11:56 PM

Giving the win to Hendricks in what should be a draw to offset the delirium of Bruins fans seeing mirages of a major battle.

Posted by Willie Trognitz on February 05, 2012 at 03:52 PM

Total draw. Replay from high on-glass angle shows nothing landed. Homers spend a lot of time on this site pumping up their guys. Weak.

Posted by Big_Fat_Dan on February 07, 2012 at 02:00 AM

Draw all day long.

Posted by Langway on February 06, 2012 at 10:42 AM

How can anyone pick a winner in this? Bunch of homers. This is a clear draw. None of McQuaids or Hendricks punches really landed.

Posted by SouthPaw017 on February 06, 2012 at 01:04 AM

Draw... Nothing appeared to land. For those of you scoring takedowns.. Takedowns are done for several reasons -- one combatant is scared and proceeds to wrestle for a take down to save his a%#, one combatant is too tired to go on, one combatant loses his balance (hopefully not on purpose), or both combatants can't fight for sh%$ and simply choose to wrestle until they fall... Last time I checked this was HockeyFights, with fists, upright, on skates.... not wrestling or MMA. Therefore simpletons, no points for takedowns.

Posted by theorange on February 05, 2012 at 07:40 PM

draw, edge mcquaid. he actually landed something, not alot, but something.

Posted by Bruinsfan31 on February 07, 2012 at 07:49 PM

Smart man to take McQuaid down after eating several punches. Winner McQuiad

...Hendricks comes-out on top,....

Posted by kkdowning on February 05, 2012 at 05:37 PM

How do people have McQuaid winning that? Draw at best for McQuaid (he should have won the fight on paper, but Hendricks held his own)
