Now that's a hockey fight!

Huge, awkward, yet clean hit,
brings the Staubitz cavalry to town,
straight off of the bench...
as two of the league's better pugilists,
dig in for an all out war.

Edge Reaves, but I'm now, officially, a Staubitz fan.

At first I thought Staubitz was done for but he rallied at the end. But Reaves rolled up enough smacks early on and at the midpoint to claim the win.

There is nothing i enjoy less than seeing someone have to fight after a clean hit in today's NHL. There is nothing I enjoy more than seeing the person who made the hit beat the hell out of the challenger. Well done Mr. Reaves.

Reaves with the win, in an exciting tilt, the excitement of the Little Turtle announcing was legitimate. The hit was little late that started this, if it was a star who got hit by Reaves people (instead of some guy from Minnesota) would be up in arms

I actually thought the hit was a tad late after the pass,
Good fight...Reaves got a few in early and Staubitz did make a litle come back but alll in all, Reaves landed the better punches for the Win.
Kudos to both lads...

BTW, I saw some tape on Staubitz's hand,
Anyone know what the latest NHL rule on this ?

Before the "fight after clean hit (FACH) trend started guys did it in the old days After the hit, you can see Reaves skating back up ice with his head up because he expects someone to come after him. I think at some point I saw him mouthing the words "FACH you, FACH you".
Staubitz can handle himself well, but Reaves has really dinged some people. I am not a big fan of the FACH, but when its a guy that fights a lot and he is drifting back up ice waiting for a fight , then it's ok. If you give Staubitz and Reaves enough time on ice at the same time, they are going fight at some point anyhow.

DROP THE MITTS AND GO........Staubitz was very tentitive at Reaves cause that boy is a bruiser......But man that was a fight instead of hitting the ice or doing the Avery and finding away to stop the throwing, Staubitz who I hate but to his credit he stayed in there and threw

He landed a couple but earned respect and koodoos for a hard fought loss!!!! A day after I complained about tame fights we have a beaut.....Thanks fella's !!!!!
I might have overrated it with a 9 but I,m needy :)

That is a good night for Reaves, laying someone out and then giving the home crowd one of the best fights of the year. I don't like the obligatory fight after a hit either, but I still like Staubitz. He is one tough cat taking those licks from Reaves and still being able to throw. But a definite win for Reaves here, and an 8.

That's more like it. Good bout, reaves with the upper hand but Staubitz got some ok shots in.

I guess you can't make big clean hits in the NHL anymore without fighting afterwards. Fuking lame.

This is why we're here. A beauty! A game Staubitz put up a pretty good fight but Reaves just too tough and poweful.
