slshbleed .... WTF? I feel it was a draw, think the best shot was the one Rinaldo landed as he was going down. Could have went with Tropp but... Rinaldo needs a better base, he's all askew when he throws them. Good fight..6.

Posted by flashstorm on December 07, 2011 at 09:49 PM

Heavy hitters. Good control on both counts they respected each other enough to lay down their equipment before hand. Rinaldo was throwing rights and Tropp left. Rinaldo went down first but he got off balance not because he was knocked out DRAW

Posted by ObmaBlowz on December 08, 2011 at 06:18 PM

Slight edge to Tropp, good tilt not much landing though

Posted by Willy WILL on December 10, 2011 at 09:32 AM

Draw... Wanted to give the slight edge to Rinaldo but if its to close to call its a draw. I think Rinaldo landed more shots but slips at the end and it appears as if Tropp knocks him down. Appears! It does not actually happen. He slips. Draw

Posted by Edit17 on December 08, 2011 at 09:24 AM

Looks like Tropp told all the Michigan State Alum to vote here. Draw.

Good fight- Draw

Posted by staceyb on December 08, 2011 at 05:44 AM

Rinaldo takes the loss but the scrap ignited the comatose Flyers who came back from three down to win on the road.

Posted by BallzInZipper on December 07, 2011 at 08:42 PM

Rinaldo is quite lucky none of those really connected. Tropp wins on the wind-ups and the takedown.

Nice fight ...edge to Tropp

Posted by hkhk on December 07, 2011 at 11:35 PM

the kid is a gamer but i guess its the nhl jody sits . this kid isnt a middleweight even dress jody miss the old nhl..

Posted by nait on December 07, 2011 at 09:09 PM

tropp gets the win in my book due to more hits landed and in the end of the fight he was on top otherwise close to a draw

Posted by Behn Wilson on December 07, 2011 at 10:27 PM

Huge props for the lid toss opening, and the ensuing, ''no defence'', smack-fest... but Tropp, eventually takes it... with a better chin, and an edge in shots landed.

Posted by DARCY T on December 08, 2011 at 03:51 PM

wow,i didnt know tropp can scrap like this.this is first time i saw him fighting and im impressed.tropp aimed his left haymakers and landed.win tropp and 6

Posted by Jflah53 on December 08, 2011 at 11:31 AM

Nice fight but better showing by TROPP. Clear winner here BUT this kid rinaldo keeps taking on the big boys. Everyone on this site knows he is on "BORROWED TIME" if he keeps this up !!!!!! Where is Jody Shelly ???????????????

Posted by fernben8 on December 08, 2011 at 02:21 PM

At first I thought I was watching synchronized swimming with the lid toss... Then bombs started flying left and right ( literally). Just wondering if Tropp is a natural lefty ? Because if not, some of the boys better take note...

Posted by Veleno45 on December 08, 2011 at 08:14 AM

Both participants game at drop, Tropp with an overwhelming win.

Posted by gbone182 on December 07, 2011 at 08:43 PM

Not a bad one to end the 1st period. Good scrap for both of them, but I give the nod to Tropp for punches landed. Also, Rinaldo's making a name for himself in the NHL this year, whereas Tropp is fairly unknown outside of the Buffalo-Rochester markets. But very good one all in all!

Posted by slshbleed on December 08, 2011 at 12:33 PM

Which is better? You're the Tropp! You're the Coliseum. You're the Tropp! You're the Louver Museum. or Cause a pressure Tropp, oh pressure Oh yeah pressure Tropp a drop on you I say a pressure Tropp, oh pressure Oh yeah pressure Tropp a drop on you I say when it Tropps, oh you gonna feel it Know that you were doing wrong, wrong, wrong

Who voted for Rinaldo?

Posted by von_swine on December 07, 2011 at 10:29 PM

Troppicana FTW,...Rinaldo is doin his best to hang in there and trade w/anybody which is great, but might lead to some KO time in the near future if he aint careful who he opens the floodgates on. good bout, wonder how sabrehatred is gonna spin this one.....oops, sorry I missed that he already did, my bad.

Posted by hok1n on December 07, 2011 at 11:21 PM

TKO night night

Posted by BooSanta on December 08, 2011 at 01:54 AM

We all got the m.o. on the Smack-a-Zac. Lose every fight because every guy in this league is bigger than you, and always make it worth everyone's while. Trooper scored a beauty left to the Zac's jaw/neck which decided this one. Both pugilists threw wild ones and followed code to the T, making this an entertaining quickie.

Posted by Joceron on December 07, 2011 at 10:00 PM

Wow, not thats a hockey fight. No defense but the full extension on each punch makes for a thriller. Tropp and a 7

Posted by bruins rule on December 14, 2011 at 08:00 AM

tropp gets the win in this fight.

Posted by kimo_coyote on December 07, 2011 at 10:18 PM

Tropp with win.

Posted by orr4president on December 08, 2011 at 10:54 AM

Rinaldo loses again, and he can't even use a size disadvantage this time as an excuse, will he win a fight this season?

Posted by Double Nickels on December 10, 2011 at 04:54 AM

The lefty loosens and the righty tightens up.

Posted by GreatMurray on December 08, 2011 at 08:59 AM

NICE!!! 2 point Knock Down for Tropp. Good 1 sided fight...fun stuff!

Posted by gongermuskegon on December 07, 2011 at 11:30 PM

Their lids were stifling and only narrowed their vision. The mutual hand to hand combat would've made Gerard Butler proud. Rinaldo found the adversary to provide him with a true spartan death Try to Tropp that and a 7

Posted by FightsOfHockey on December 07, 2011 at 11:12 PM

good fight Tropp wins

Posted by theSDauncey on December 08, 2011 at 05:05 AM

Tropp win... I didnt think rinaldo had the fighting ability in the beginning of the season to be very good but it is his first season i rekon he will get better in years to come

Posted by daveyj on December 07, 2011 at 09:13 PM

Tropp with the win in this bout.

Posted by starang1da24 on December 08, 2011 at 01:34 PM

tropp destroys rinaldo..suck it philly

Posted by hochey08 on December 08, 2011 at 01:37 AM

great fight, lovin rinaldo this year even if he loses way more than he wins

Posted by Clark75 on December 08, 2011 at 11:30 AM

TKO! Tropp put a serious beating on a right handed Rinaldo.

Posted by wallysy1 on December 08, 2011 at 01:04 AM

tropp well fought

Posted by arrows80 on December 07, 2011 at 10:32 PM

The former Spartan wins!

Posted by paddyd on December 08, 2011 at 02:20 PM

Someone forgot to tell Zac that Tropp was a lefty as he ate a good diet of them. Zac's time in the NHL will be short lived at this pace and I'm not sure he will be able to survive in the AHL.

Posted by BennyD on December 09, 2011 at 10:35 PM

Tropp easily. Love when they both just haul off and start chuckin'. Rinaldo snuck in the first right after he took off his helmet, but Tropp finished him off.

Posted by lb1631 on December 09, 2011 at 03:19 PM

Good for Tropp beating that cheap jerk Rinaldo. Typical flyers idiot. Nice ass kicking.Troop kicked his ass in juniors too.

Posted by GO16 on December 09, 2011 at 10:02 AM

The morons who voted for Rinaldo as the winner or even a draw should be banned from this site !! Tropp beat him in the AHL as well, I guess he hasn't learned his lesson !!

Posted by capsfloors on December 08, 2011 at 12:28 PM

another Flyer gets his azz kicked... Oh and tpr1960 sucks!

Posted by Big Little Tank on December 10, 2011 at 12:20 AM

Awesome to see that little cheater get his clock rung. Tropp trumped him so bad. To say the cheater's name, is like saying the Harry Potter Bad Guy's name.

Posted by Killer Bezz on December 15, 2011 at 09:07 AM

Huge hay makers wow. Good to see a Flyers get his ass kicked.

Posted by Your Mom on December 09, 2011 at 11:12 PM

Tropp schooled him!

Posted by jnk07899 on December 08, 2011 at 11:55 AM

Newcomer Corey Tropp showing his stuff! Great fight. Loved the intensity. The Sabres have really struggled in the "tough" department since getting rid of Andrew Peters and Adam Mair and now we are finally seeing some of this great stuff again. As a Sabres fan, I really hope this kind of physical play keeps up with them.

Posted by JBar595 on December 08, 2011 at 01:41 PM

It appears Ronaldo's family had the only votes for him.

Posted by mb1679 on December 07, 2011 at 09:51 PM

Corey Tropp drops the bucket and destroys rinaldo!

Posted by koolpunch on December 10, 2011 at 02:01 AM

That's what you call high-stakes, swingin' for the fence. Corey Tropps him.

Posted by Rbphoto1 on December 08, 2011 at 01:36 AM

Good job Tropp wow

Posted by hoofhearted2 on December 07, 2011 at 10:23 PM

Good for Tropp! He's a hockey player, Rinaldo's just a goon.

Posted by Brownsky859 on December 09, 2011 at 01:27 PM

These guys have fought while in the AHL. Tropp owns Rinaldo. Zac can't fight Southpaws!!!

Posted by diplomats356 on November 13, 2014 at 06:46 PM

Tropp absolutely pummells Rinaldo with haymakers from the start to the finish

Posted by FinnMcCool on December 08, 2011 at 08:45 AM

Great Fight! Anyone know why it started? Maybe the so called run on Ennis earlier in the period, which I thought Finley already straightened out.

Posted by knuckleballs on December 08, 2011 at 09:02 AM

Now thats a fight!!!!!! Gotta love Tropp... a guy that can play the game and unload with lefts. Unfortunately the sabres have a pecking order which is related to salary. Tropp will be in Rochester when everyone is healthy. How unfortunate.

Posted by hazenum76 on December 07, 2011 at 08:42 PM

The respect between the players was amazing. They both dropped gloves, grabbed sweater, and then removed there helmets before swinging... however, the edge goes to Tropp for throwing hay makers throughout. Great fight.

Posted by Bosoxshute on December 08, 2011 at 12:25 PM

Great angry fight.

Posted by zrykse on January 12, 2012 at 11:53 PM

fantastic!

Posted by Reggie Fleming on December 08, 2011 at 02:31 AM

Anyone who think Zac won, should be banned to Philadelphia (Chester), a real arm pit.

Posted by morganhorse6 on December 08, 2011 at 10:40 PM

Love Tropp taking care of that jerk and showing what Sabres can do!!!

Posted by sjci on December 07, 2011 at 11:26 PM

Great bout. Much respect for tossing the lids. Notice after that, Rinaldo throws the first blow but then its really all Tropp. Nothing huge landed but for my money, I'd say fight of the year so far. I'd love to see these kind of fights than the "lets throw one punch then stick my arm out as far as i can and hide away" or the ones were they're just tugging on jersey's dancing around the ice. 10/10

Posted by mcb798 on December 07, 2011 at 11:21 PM

rinaldo wins this scrap.

Posted by bostonrs555 on December 07, 2011 at 10:35 PM

Tropp hits him so much that there isn't a Bruise, Mark or Blood. Looks like a lot of missing to me. Jeers to Snoka for the lamest put down we haven't heard since Junior High School!

Posted by concrete447 on December 07, 2011 at 09:41 PM

Just watched the replay, Tropp losing the punch in the face contest until Rinaldo switches to southpaw. No damage to Rinaldo but its been all Flyers since then Advantage Rinaldo

Posted by IMPEACH on December 09, 2011 at 08:42 PM

I have to be honest, I think Rinaldo landed the better punches here. Tropp was wild and made more noise, but Rinaldo seemed to be much accurate. No?

Posted by heyitscool on December 07, 2011 at 09:21 PM

Tropp was throwing powerfully. Rinaldo was really lucky that he didn't catch one to the nose, because it would be gone. Great fight from Tropp

Posted by tiburon4 on December 08, 2011 at 11:04 PM

Fast and furious, too tough to call.

Posted by Rags4Life on December 08, 2011 at 10:09 AM

Great scrap. Rinaldo does better than he has in his previous bouts, but gets the worst of it in this one. I don't think he landed a single punch while Tropp was swinging for the fences and connecting.

Posted by rudyk on December 08, 2011 at 11:34 PM

have the flyers EVER had anyone who could fight???

Posted by Dijo on December 07, 2011 at 09:18 PM

Good fight. Win Corey Tropp. Tropp had a full shield on. I don't know this guy. Is he coming back from an injury? This fight is a perfect example why fighters need to keep their helmets on. At the end Rinaldo went down. He didn't hit his head on the ice, but he could have. This is why all fighters should keep their helmets on and keep the visors off. After seeing Orr smack his head on the ice hard we all know it can happen. One guy dies in an NHL fight and all fighting is history.

Posted by Big_Fat_Dan on December 08, 2011 at 02:09 PM

Great bout. Tropp with the upper hand.

Posted by chad420 on December 10, 2011 at 11:35 AM

Wow Tropp can go...win CT

Posted by dorian on December 08, 2011 at 07:09 AM

Tropp seems to take this one.

Posted by muskokadangler on December 07, 2011 at 11:22 PM

Those boys were throwing with murderous intentions...Michigan state!!!??? Theres no fighting there....Ha well he learned it somewhere cause he gets the big W

Posted by mike hartman on December 08, 2011 at 09:42 AM

nice win for tropp.

Posted by Nesquik on December 08, 2011 at 04:13 PM

After getting off to a great start in his career, Rinaldo continues his disappointing losing streak.

Posted by Snoka on December 07, 2011 at 09:34 PM

Rinaldo went down faster than sabrehatred's mom does nightly on the neighborhood guys

Posted by FHgrad99 on December 08, 2011 at 03:12 AM

Both guys were throwing but Tropp was landing and landing big. Tropp with a decisive win in a good, spirited bout.

Posted by kkdowning on December 08, 2011 at 09:07 AM

Tropp must be a lefty because that was a strong showing

Posted by JeanLaValette on December 07, 2011 at 11:26 PM

great fight, both fighters meaning business...edge to Tropp

Posted by LEAF2000 on December 07, 2011 at 08:40 PM

I can count on one hand how many fights I've rated, but had to put something here. Easily in the top 10 so far this year. Awesome respect taking off the lids and both guys swinging for the fences. Had the not held on to the jersey's so much I'd say we would've seen an updated Ray/Domi slugfest! No crappy jersey jabs or tug of war's here. Good stuff boys!

Posted by TrueBlue26 on December 08, 2011 at 03:19 PM

not a fan of buff and i absolutely hate philly but the sabers are in desperate need of a resident tough guy tropp seems to be a decent middle weight which can handle all of the middleweights but they need a heavyweight.

Posted by CloweStaubi on December 07, 2011 at 09:17 PM

tropp... this guy should've fought lucic

Posted by Langway on December 08, 2011 at 12:27 AM

Well done, Tropp. Definite and dominant win.

Posted by hockinj on December 08, 2011 at 12:27 PM

love the no defense strategy. thats how all fights should be
