The fight breakdown
This one seems to come from Michael Haley and Patrick Maroon agreeing to things ahead of time. The Rangers got handled by the Bruins in a the previous game so Haley goes out to do his job. The two lock up as Maroon comes into the Rangers zone off the bench and we have a fight.
Maroon grabs a hold of the back of Haley's jersey and the two grapple for control of the fight and Maroon's size advantage plays a role here. Haley swings and catch Maroon with a forearm shot that knocks him down.
Patrick Maroon Notes -
For Maroon, this was his first fight of the season. His last fight came during the preseason on September 21st, 2019 against Austin Watson of the Nashville Predators.
It was his second career fight against Michael Haley and his third career fight against someone from the New York Rangers.
This was the 52th fight for Maroon in the NHL
Michael Haley Notes -
For Haley, this is his first fight of the season. His last fight came during the preseason on September 28th, 2019 against Ross Johnston of the New York Islanders.
It was his second career fight against Patrick Maroon and his fourth career fight against someone on the Tampa Bay Lightning
This was the 70th fight for Haley in the NHL.
Nice job by Haley! It’s not the size of the dog in the fight, it’s the fight inside the dog. Haley is a true warrior.
A couple of seasoned pugilists square off. The fight begins as an awkward exchange of weirdly gripped jersey jabs. Unfortunatley for Maroon, Kinetic energy mixed with gravity caused Haley to break free and land a fight ending shot. Hopefully Maroon is doing okay, but, Haley win & 5.
Gotta love Haley's fearless ferocity. Maroon, with a 4 inches /20 pounds advantage and a much longer wingspan, and Haley still gets the better of him. Knockdown win - Haley
you call that a fight? Havent seen a good fight in ages. Stripes are always to quick to jump in. Haley delivered a missed punch that delivered a shove with the forearm, throwing them off balance. Idiot Ranger fans thought he ko'd him...boring
Haley is so short he just gets handled all the time until he lands one.
Haley not only dropped Maroon with a punch, it ended Maroon's night and eliminated him from the game. Maroon missed the game the following night in New Jersey too. Don't know how anyone can say Maroon won the fight or call it a draw. Clear knockout by Haley. Rangers win 4-1.
Really not much to see here. Yea Haley got the takedown so slight edge.
Ok fight but boring as hell
Hate the linesmen hanging around so close ready to break up fights too early. Haley wins due to the drop shot at the end.
Haley's punch missed and they fell. Maroon was in control before that wild prayer was thrown
The Refs \"Let them go\". So that\'s a good thing. I\'m with Mounty and score it a draw...
Whoever runs this site is lazy. New format SUCKS. I could do a much better job. Haley slapped him up side the head, knocked Maroon flat. All I need to know
maroon really isn't a good fighter just acts tough because of his size haley hung in and landed the forearm to knock maroon down
Haley lands that forearm shiver to get the win.
Moron got Smoked by Tiny Tim...
Yawn.......... Momentum shifted two minutes into game?
Maroon landed the only punches...The forearm to the back of the helmet doesn't net points. I'll give Haley half a point for getting Maroon off his skates...but Haley still lost the fight. Come on New York...keep voting like that and you will have to hire Jack Edwards to be your play by play guy.
At least it went to decision...linesman trying hard to interferet but it went on. Haley FTW on a knockdown
It was a good long fight they fought well good job boys I had to give it to Haley for sticken with it and the finale blow is what did it for me.
Maroon was controlling things for about 99% of the fight. Haley landed that one shot at the end that changed things a little but I don't even think it was much of a punch. Looked more like a swinging close line that connected with the forearm.
No way Haley won fight..lol..lol.No contest for Maroon...Haley manage to spin and turn and Maroon fell at end...Not a good fight as Haley had to be careful with much bigger stronger Maroon..Maroon landed most punches and missed with some... Winner Maroon.....Any one saying Maroon never won please watch again...
Maroon seemed to be handling Haley for most of the dance but Haley skated away at the end and Maroon laid on the ice. Gotta give this to Haley.
Anyone who is a fighter needs to remove shielded helmet.
Pretty close not really much happening, but I always go with the guy who is so much smaller and still able to hold his own and them some against the bigger Maroon.
I give it a 3 and a draw.... nothing really landed from either guys. That last punch by Haley wasn't even a punch. I could see Maroon getting the win also as he actually threw a few punches that somewhat landed
I guess kocur also “knocked down” Jim kyte
Nothing really landed by either combatant. Haley was non-existent until the very end, of the so-called fight, when he hit Maroon on the side of his helmet with his forearm. This resulted in Maroon to lose his balance and fall to the ice. Scored it a four and a slight edge to Maroon.
No knockout just a knockdown as someone else said.
Knock down not a knockout
Fairly boring fight with a surprise right to finish it.
