draw.actually i was gonna give it to gausted but i changed my mind with westgarths last punch

Posted by anklebreak75 on November 22, 2010 at 12:03 AM

Can not believe you guys see anything but a draw. That last punch gave no damage only a slip. Hate both these teams, so I have no bias. Whats up with the upper-cuts.

Posted by blazers76 on November 20, 2010 at 10:25 PM

Did Westgarth actually give the ole "belt " salute? What a chump.

Posted by Sasky001 on November 20, 2010 at 05:17 PM

Get a haircut you skid.

Posted by done on November 20, 2010 at 05:07 PM

pretty good scrap! slight edge to westgarth for the shot that ended the fight. Fabio's brother actually won a fight for the L.A. QUEENS ( shocking). Westgarth is still a nut sack and a sh** hockey player. Waste of hockey gear and salary. Actually think he's a joke and would take an A** beating from a real enforcer.

Posted by bruins rule on November 20, 2010 at 07:47 AM

decent fight between these 2 guys. gaustad hit him with a few nice uppercuts and westgarth ended the fight with a big right hand knockdown punch.

Posted by slavv on November 21, 2010 at 12:15 PM

Good scrap. Both did well. Called it a draw...

Posted by orr4president on November 21, 2010 at 10:29 AM

Gaustad early, Westgarth late, draw

Posted by fernben8 on November 21, 2010 at 03:38 PM

Weird fight... Never seen so many attempts on uppercuts. From hugfest, to body blows, to uppercuts and a self induced knock down. Tthe uppercuts by Gaustad were more potent than the overhand by Westgarth ( Gaustad didn't help his cause by leaning back on his heels). Westgarth looked out of place attempting the return uppercuts after tasting a few himself....not to mention the hair flip as he skated off. Win Gaustad.

Posted by lingenfelterc6 on April 14, 2011 at 09:47 AM

So….. Since when does bitc#ing out from a fight and pulling your opponent down to the ground count as a win because that’s the only thing that Kevin did… yet he won… weird???

Posted by pinney29 on November 20, 2010 at 12:21 PM

Gaustad with the win, gaustad was falling when westgarth's last punch connected, not enough to give him the win...more of a draw but i gave the edge to Gaustad

Posted by moneybags on November 20, 2010 at 11:23 AM

Gaustad with more punches..Kevy got one in that made gaus lose his balance...Kevys, you really should call in sick today....you got Thornton, lucic, chara, and stuart to deal with tonight!

Posted by hal29 on December 04, 2010 at 03:08 PM

I gave this to Gaustad as he was the only one really throwing and sorry to say it that last punch was a loss of balance and not a solid shot. staceyb a fool as always and doesn't actually see the fight for what it actually is. No knock down, not a solid shot and no win for westgarth

Posted by branted1 on November 21, 2010 at 05:06 AM

gaustad! dont think that last punch was enough to give westgarth a win

Posted by j sto on November 20, 2010 at 01:33 PM

Goose with the win in this one. He is an under rated scrapper probably because he doesnt do it often, but he can go.

Posted by MansGame on November 20, 2010 at 11:37 AM

Goose finally does what Sabres need him to do and comes to the aide of the fat hobbit (Gerbe). He gets the win for the sweet upper cuts early on.

Posted by letsdance24 on November 20, 2010 at 01:20 PM

Gaustad connected with 3 or 4 good uppercuts. No KO for Westgarth as Gaustad slipped and was going down anyway..

Posted by RegalsFTW on November 23, 2010 at 02:12 PM

Gaustad is usually an awful fighter but he looked pretty strong in this one. Slight edge to the Goose...

Posted by slshbleed on November 20, 2010 at 10:47 AM

I think the last punch was good punch but not a knock down punch. Gaustad's skates were leading him down prior to the punch. It wasn't a pillow punch by any means. I think Gaustad landed way more quality shots with a string of upper cuts. He seemed un-phased when he got up. I give it to G.

Posted by boxerlavean5 on November 20, 2010 at 12:10 PM

Gaustad won with all those uppercuts..Westgarth's last and only punch that landed wasn't much of a shot..Gaustad fell because he slipped.

Posted by jtl6713 on November 21, 2010 at 12:24 AM

Gausted landed every punch. That last punch from Westgarth barely nicked him. Gasted hands down...

Posted by ThrowdownSJ408 on November 20, 2010 at 02:47 PM

draw/edge gaustad. that punch didnt hurt at all at the end

Posted by Leafs2006 on November 21, 2010 at 06:25 AM

Gaustad did not win this fight, i cannot fathom why he got so many votes......

Posted by Behn Wilson on November 21, 2010 at 08:03 PM

Despite giving Gaustad his due credit for coming to the aid of a team-mate... that last punch broke, what was previously, a very ''Jim Peplinski-Hanson-brother-looking'' draw

Posted by Mikkel H. on November 20, 2010 at 01:33 PM

Westgarth drops Gaustad

Posted by LicoriceBiscuit on November 20, 2010 at 12:41 PM

what in the hell are you talking about??? His skates were leading him down? WTF are you smoking? What lead him down was that shot to the side of the head!!! Frigin homer talk giving the fight to Gaustad because one of those uppercuts landed. He got knocked off his feet by a punch that ended the fight! Winner is Westgarth seen clearly thru non-homer goggles.

Posted by Spug on November 20, 2010 at 06:39 PM

You cant give a guy the win when he falls down after the first decent punch by his opponent. If he throws 100 punches then goes down after 1 punch, he still loses. Call it a slip, call it whatever you want. He went down after a hard shot, that's a loss. Win Westgarth.

Posted by staceyb on November 21, 2010 at 07:06 AM

The Goose got cooked with that final right from Westy. Until that point it was even.

Posted by bruiser11 on November 20, 2010 at 10:57 PM

Very good Gaustad was against a non-established heavy. Nothing big.

Posted by no123one on November 23, 2010 at 05:30 PM

I like how that Buffalo announcer ignores the KO punch at the end from Westgarth... "down on the ice they go". LOL. If it was reversed, he would have been SCREAMING about the hit.

Posted by kronvallizer78 on November 20, 2010 at 07:17 PM

At first glance i thought Gaustad had the edge in this tilt that however was until Westgarth upended him with the right bomb that send him to the ice. Westgarth with the win

Posted by willy29 on November 23, 2010 at 03:06 PM

Winner is Westgarth for the punch that sent Gaustad to the ice.

Posted by LA KING FANATIC on November 22, 2010 at 06:24 PM

Gosh, the Sabre announcers always sound like they are going to wet their pants at any activity..hard to stomach. Westgarth dropped him, tko Westgarth.

Posted by HerbRaglan on November 20, 2010 at 02:41 PM

I definitely think that was a knock down punch by westgarth. Gaustad was standing up straight and not falling prior to getting clocked. Before the punch Gaustad was winning but that punch makes me say Westgarth won.

Posted by Juha82 on November 20, 2010 at 02:16 PM

Both looked good here but not man love haha lol. EDGE Westgarth who had that good moment in the end, no clean tko/kd punch but he partly putted down Gaustad actually. Good fight. I also understand that draw-call.

Posted by tattooedkingpin on November 21, 2010 at 12:31 PM

Damn, Westgarth nailed him at the end. W Westgarth

Posted by hughcares on November 20, 2010 at 05:39 PM

A slip, whats wrong with you morons, Gaustad got laid out. Win Westgarth. Didn't know this many morons owned computers in Buffalo.

Posted by gnitterhouse on November 20, 2010 at 07:34 PM

Gaustad got dropped, enough said.

Posted by rocky 1 on November 20, 2010 at 11:34 AM

What the hell are you people watching and voting on it must be a completely different fight than i,m looking at.Clearly the last punch by Westgarth lands and knocks Gaustad to the ice.In boxing we call that a K.O.Fight Fans.Sick of you homers voting for your own players when they clearly are beaten!Gaustad started OK but clearly lost in the end!

Posted by Mcgyvr on November 21, 2010 at 04:11 PM

Almost want to give that a "KO"... it wasn't but looked like it. Nice finish and W for Westgarth.

Posted by Bluetiedown44 on November 20, 2010 at 11:28 PM

Gaustad does well but when they come off the boards Westgarth has this under control.

Posted by chad420 on November 21, 2010 at 06:07 PM

draw....definately not a 5.5 by any means

Posted by piney on November 22, 2010 at 04:36 PM

homer announcer

Posted by perezj on November 21, 2010 at 09:47 AM

Gaustad landed more.

Posted by kari takko on November 21, 2010 at 05:12 PM

gaustad with the better shots.

Posted by hok1n on November 22, 2010 at 09:38 AM

Gaustad hit Westgarth with three good ones. And they where the only punches that landed. Then Westgarth lands on top when he wrestles Gaustad down. How can any of you fools vote for Westgarth. I just don't get it.

Posted by samtheman on November 22, 2010 at 01:05 AM

It seems liked Gaustad landed a few uppercuts. The only reason I can figure so many votes for Westgarth is they thought that last punch landed clean for a knockdown. I watched it twice and don't think it landed so I'm going clear with for Gaustad.

Posted by mike hartman on November 22, 2010 at 10:55 AM

Westgartth gets the win as he landed the big one at the end. Goose had him early but failed to connect, and Westgarth made him pay. But Gaustad was the first star of the game, and thats what really matters in a hockey game. Good fight though.

Posted by Flyers20Fan on November 22, 2010 at 04:34 PM

alright scrap, gaustad witha few earlier and then the big one late by westgarth

Posted by tim daddy on November 20, 2010 at 12:33 PM

that turned into a pretty good scrap, edge to gausted, just barely

Posted by mpw on November 20, 2010 at 11:42 AM

Final blow connects, watch Gaustad's head snap.

Posted by kitcarnut on November 22, 2010 at 02:32 PM

One hitter quitter

Posted by gmr133 on November 20, 2010 at 02:15 PM

Westgarth with the edge, based on that last punch. He should be more dominant than this. He was a monster in the minors.

Posted by jcstokes on November 20, 2010 at 10:22 AM

Gotta give it to Westgarth. That last blow ends the fight.

Posted by Big_Fat_Dan on November 21, 2010 at 10:01 AM

Guastad had the advantage until Westgarth dropped him at the end.

Posted by pvdrummer2000 on March 09, 2015 at 02:29 PM

Gaustad started well, but Westgarth delivered the coup de gras
