Amazed at how many people are mad at Martin for not fighting Dorsett or Burrows. I think some of you forgot they were both ejected for going after "non-fighters" earlier in the game. This is Martin sending a message. I declare the winner of the fight to be Ryan Miller. Two game misconducts? Two thumbs up!

Posted by joedog on November 06, 2016 at 06:13 PM

No body jumped anyone here....lots of crap went on during the game..Vancouvers donkey Dorset and Burrows both took liberties(fights) on non fighter leafs. after several questionable hits ...at the end of the game this scrum..and just a scrum it was was Martin...sending a message back to the Nucks. pretend tough guys who would fight during the game....All he did was rough up this Van. D-man....sending the message back......it worked as 5 Vancouver players started playing scrum/ tough with him...big deal... Watching Nuck post game interviews ....Is there something in the water out there?...the Twins/Millar/the rookie all with the same Tennessee hills were all related look...someone on here said it best about Millars Stunned look...Face facts here nothing happened..Martin sent a message LOUD and Clear....and This was Millars only way to get out of the net after dismal performance

Posted by lucic17 on November 05, 2016 at 11:39 PM

Both teams took turns being douchebags in the third. Love to see Miller get involved and the "line brawl" was more like "line roughing". Doesn't take much to get the announcers excited in today's pathetically passive game.

Posted by EK65 on November 05, 2016 at 11:13 PM

Martin goes after the rookie, Miller sticks up for him. Everybody jumps on Martin and not much else happens. Interesting rematch brewing (although with the two soft teams nothing will happen) Fun game though.

All the butthurt Vancouver fans logged in tonight to make sure their team wins atleast something in the near future lol. What a joke.

Posted by Westcoast_Goon on November 05, 2016 at 10:39 PM

Matt Martin...what were you thinking? Yikes.

Posted by Jellyczar on November 07, 2016 at 07:37 AM

Would have loved to see an old school donnybrook ... but this is the NHL in 2016. agree with Lucic17 and Behn Wilson.

Posted by boldbilly on November 06, 2016 at 06:58 AM

Good grief what are you people voting on ? a few errant punches thrown all over the place.....no real damage I called this a draw and scored it at a 3 Andersen comes all the way down the ice for what? He gets thrown out for nothing, he at least could have hit someone for his big dramatic skate. You already know what happens once you cross that red line at centre. At this point in the game it was stupid of the leafs to start this crap, the game was already decided, if it was a divisional rival I could better understand it, but this sends only one message, that the leafs are dumb. Vancouver on an incredible losing streak were frustrated and embarrassed here once again, what was the purpose by Martin to rub their noses in it, dumb move from a guy that I like and would still want on my team oh by the way.

Posted by Behn Wilson on November 06, 2016 at 09:22 AM

Much ado about nothing or as Lucic17 so accurately puts it.., Line roughing

Posted by Great Murray on November 06, 2016 at 01:28 PM

Martin was working on a payment plan for Kadri's shenanigans when he was rudely interrupted by the goalie.

Posted by bigmike53 on November 07, 2016 at 12:37 AM

Message sending 101 by Martin and I like it. Remember when this kind of thing was common? This league lacks emotion and we need more players like Dorsett and Martin. Nice job by Miller to save Stecher a beatdown.

Not a Martin fan but the little prick attempts to hit Martin on the numbers and even the clown announcer can't even get it right. The little prick should have been punched out.

Posted by hughcares on November 06, 2016 at 09:00 AM

too bad Martin didn't get Millers mask off and pound his constant stunned look off his face. Great to be a Canucks fan - team sucks led by the twin sisters and full of p^ssies

Posted by DARCY T on November 08, 2016 at 02:29 PM

i would like to type that im not surprised by martin's actions but...

Posted by Hackadart on January 02, 2018 at 02:25 AM

This right itself wasn't worth a 5 rating but the insuing madness sure was fun to watch

Posted by first 6 on November 06, 2016 at 05:47 PM

Martin is a damn bull! He.s willing to go with anyone.

Posted by Tenzin on November 06, 2016 at 08:13 AM

Martin roughs up Stecher behind the play, presumably in retalation for Dorsett and Burrows fighting non-fighters (as per usual). Miller jumps in quickly to help out the rookie, and everyone gathers for some hugs. No real punches thrown here - Martin could have really messed up Stecher if he'd wanted to. Kudos to Miller for not letting this get out of hand.

Posted by FaxCap on November 06, 2016 at 11:23 AM

Why does hockeyfights even list this as a fight???? Miller/Martin ya I can see that listed but Martin just caught Stecher off balance and pushed him down.

Posted by jcstokes on November 06, 2016 at 01:01 PM

Martin can hit, but not fight. Never a true scrapper, just a physical player. Picks on a kid here and while nothing happens, a scrum ensues. Will be a fun rematch with Gubrandson looking for him.

Posted by rocky 1 on November 06, 2016 at 02:46 PM

No fight here as Martin picks on a none fighter. Ryan Miilar jumps in on Martin which brought back visions of old time Hockey. Great line brawl. Hockey needs more of this.

Posted by Ecce72 on November 07, 2016 at 05:46 AM

2 chicken shit teams.....expect nothing less from these teams other than weak fights and players picking fights with weaker opponents.

Posted by IMPEACH on November 06, 2016 at 07:20 PM

I have no dog in this fight, I don't care about either team, but the Leafs need to be careful if they want to pull this cheap stuff. There's a lot of young fancy kids on their bench that could get knuckled up.

Posted by Mounty in NC on November 07, 2016 at 08:33 AM

I refuse to give Martin the win as he jumps a rookie...Martin is about 4" taller and out weighs him by 30lbs. I give it a draw and a 1 just for Martin being a punk. He could have at least beat up DD.

Posted by kari takko on November 06, 2016 at 01:10 AM

This fight can't be rated. Too much going on to even try to score it. So many muggings I'll just rate it a night in the Bronx

Posted by komet71 on November 06, 2016 at 10:28 AM

What a mess. Not sure how you can score this.

Posted by wannago_letsgo on November 06, 2016 at 07:38 PM

Martin seemed to land one punch to the lumbar region of Stecher's back. Love how Miller jumped in there with no hesitation. God I hate the Canucks.

Posted by Humper on November 06, 2016 at 12:45 PM

Not much of anything happened, but what manner of idiots voted for Stecher? Oh that's right, Canuck fans.

Posted by claire alexande on November 06, 2016 at 01:59 AM

Andersen is the clear victor in this heavyweight brawl for the ages. Too bad Sutter had to sully the family name.

Posted by bobafett5468 on November 08, 2016 at 02:44 PM

Remember the days when everyone dropped their gloves and went at it. Lot of wrestling and jawing

Posted by Jesticle on November 07, 2016 at 02:42 PM

Stecher gets attacked by a goon twice his size, and Miller cracks a bottle of Old Milwaukee over Martin's head to rescue his pint-sized defender-mate. Martin made damn sure #44 wasn't on the ice. Hell, even the giant Russian Tryamkin would have been a better choice than Stecher. I guess Martin doesn't want to be eating his lunch through a straw... But Dec. 3rd isn't that far away... "Matt Martin's dead. Everyone can hear that now. He's effing dead" -Erik Gudbransen Poke the bear, he did.

Posted by OlKoot on November 05, 2016 at 11:47 PM

I'm giving the win to Miller. Total douchebag move by Martin..

Posted by djh700 on November 06, 2016 at 12:52 AM

Martin what a D-Bag. Guddy will tune him up in December

Posted by CG3 on November 05, 2016 at 11:28 PM

Martin was the same guy who blind-sided Talbots with a sucker punch to set off the Islanders-Penguins fiasco years ago. Dirty player with no honor. Wish Laramie, Brashear, Orr, Godard, or another enforcer was still around to beat some class into him.

Posted by hockeyrules999 on November 05, 2016 at 10:28 PM

Martin trying to justify his ridiculous contract making the Leafs look stupid once more.

Posted by BruinsAllDaySon on November 05, 2016 at 11:42 PM

This could have been a beautiful thing. But it wasn't. And for that reason, I'm out.

Posted by Day4nite2 on November 06, 2016 at 04:20 AM

Martin likes to talk tough from the protection of the bench. Wont even fight a average middle weight in Dorsett. Pure Fucking P U S S Y

Posted by slambo on November 05, 2016 at 11:00 PM

With all the penalty minutes in this game, and still not a single good fight. Pretty fucking sad boys, or should I say girls?? Maybe if Trump gets elected this country can take their balls out of their wives' purses. Too many pansies running around this country...draw on this crappy fight, actually Miller won the fight if anyone did, and he wasn't even in it...lol

Posted by nuckles88 on November 06, 2016 at 06:17 PM

Martin u absolute sack of sh't! Go after a 22 year old kid who is 5'9" 175lbs at best! Why are u even in this league??? Can't wait to watch Gudbransen tear you a new one in December. Love the ref cam showing Miller just drop em and dive right in hahaha that was epic! Win Stecher for having the stones not to back down to that friggin monkey

Posted by tpr1960 on November 06, 2016 at 08:15 AM

Okay, idiot matt martin starts a fight with a 3 goal lead, idiot. And I say Ryan Miller gets the nod. Matt got kinda pummeled.

Posted by Bloodbank on November 05, 2016 at 10:48 PM

Clown move for jumping the little rookie from behind. No option for Miller to win the fight? See you December 3rd.

Posted by arabhata on November 06, 2016 at 07:03 AM

What a difference in Martin tonight than the Martin in Boston. Don't remember him being so eager to go with Chara.....Kinda lost a little respect for him

Posted by gsp on November 06, 2016 at 10:05 AM

Martin runs soft skill players and won't fight, telling the Leafs sign him to define the identity of their toughness - this game is a case in point. Not sure what led to blind side hits by Reilly and Kadri, but each should get 10 games as both were clearly done with intent to injure and whatever badge of cowardess that comes with. I hope nobody concusses Marner or Matthews, but this kind of play is challenging everyone to do so
