This is EXACTLY why you need fighting in hockey. 2 guys get fired up and if they aren't allowed to fight like that douche bag Millbury wants, they will slash and elbow each other and take cheap shots, instead, they drop the gloves and get it out of their system and all is right in the world. Win Oshie I guess, it was a sloppy fight but that's to be expected from these 2 guys.

I kept waiting for Reaves to beat the stuffing out of some Ranger and out of nowhere we get this fight. Good fight between to feisty non-fighters. Oshie showed that for a skilled guy he knows what to do here as well...attaboy!!! While Zuccarello lost the fight he is a tough, game little guy. I have no doubt that he would smoke pretty much anyone as small as he is. I also have no doubt that he'd have to go back to midgets to find anyone that small! Good stuff...fun to watch.

Congrats TJ, you beat Bilbo Baggins in a fight....

Midget wrestling, cool!

Posted by abadjoke88 on October 10, 2014 at 09:23 AM

Really? No shit Oshie dominated; question is what the hell is he doing fight the equivalent of an 8th grader? Don't feel bad for the Hobbit at all, that's what you get when you want to fight the 12th graders. Complete clowning.

Posted by Power29 on October 10, 2014 at 08:40 PM

UNFORTUNATELY - Oshie win...

Posted by mr. puttzo on October 09, 2014 at 10:55 PM

How can you have a fight with only one guy fighting. Rangers have a lot of talent and it's all soft except for Glass and Klein .

Posted by ghjkfdhgfd on October 09, 2014 at 11:30 PM

oshiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit

Posted by dserkin on November 17, 2014 at 12:52 PM

oshie all the way

Posted by rushfan3 on October 09, 2014 at 11:01 PM

I don't think I've ever seen Oshie fight too much, so Zuccarello must have ticked him off which I saw what happened.

Posted by darius on October 11, 2014 at 08:54 AM

This is the kind of fighting that is good for hockey. Just like the old days, anybody fights.

Posted by Derek_Sedita420 on October 11, 2014 at 05:28 AM

How dis anyone see zukerello win this fight ? He got his ass beat . Even though he was outweighed and outclassed.

Posted by slysi on October 10, 2014 at 09:16 PM

oshie only steps up when he see the topside of his opponents head ....kind of a .......

Posted by indian point 4 on October 09, 2014 at 10:41 PM

oshie with the win in this featherweight battle.

Posted by STL13 on October 10, 2014 at 12:39 AM

TJ Oshie with a lop-sided win.

Posted by travist on October 10, 2014 at 12:45 PM

oshie was pretty fired up during this one...good fight.

Posted by mocruzr on October 13, 2014 at 12:08 AM

Oshie took control right away, decent non heavyweight fight.

Posted by kkdowning on October 12, 2014 at 10:38 AM

LOL -- that was a beautiful thing to watch. Two skill players decide that the slashes and sticks between the legs went on long enough . . . Win Oshie (Oshie would not be be able to show his face again if lost to a bantam)

Posted by grrbronco81 on October 10, 2014 at 05:56 PM

Zuc didn't back down which is good but he was the Punching Bag.

Posted by wreckers77 on October 10, 2014 at 07:27 PM

A TJ Oshie win, easily. Zuccarello was just hanging on.He barely threw a punch

Posted by Radiotalker on October 10, 2014 at 10:41 AM

Who knew? He may not fight again all year, but that was a good showing by TJO

Posted by Amerkfan8 on October 09, 2014 at 11:01 PM

Zuc took a beating. It was fun to watch 2 guys like that throw em.

Posted by Pacific on October 09, 2014 at 10:50 PM

Wow! I never knew Oshie could fight. Total domination.

Posted by jason176964 on October 10, 2014 at 10:56 AM

Oshie hands down.

Posted by higbee646 on October 10, 2014 at 06:41 PM

Pretty lousy fight by two guys who shouldn't be fighting. I recognize that Oshie landed more punches but Zuuuucccc has the heart of a lion and Oshie did lose some blood in the deal (probably less than he would if he cut himself shaving).

Posted by EK65 on October 11, 2014 at 01:11 PM

Just like everybody had predicted Oshie vs Zuccarello (gonna be honest I thought my gamecenter was broken when i saw this) These 2 very unlikely pugilists... key word pug (due to their small stature) provide a high emotion pretty entertaining fight. Clear edge to Oshie.

Posted by hughtrain on October 10, 2014 at 02:35 PM

Inglewood Jack! Inglewood Jack!!! Was listening on the radio, so glad to see Osh didn't hurt his hands. He may have "endeared" himself to his teammates and the fans for sure, but Hitch certainly gave him a scolding. First game of the year and he risks injury to those scorers mitts..... Anyway, the little guy probably thought he could get a win against a skill player, and that turned out false. Win Oshie. File this one under "What were you thinking?"

Posted by Joe Rock on October 10, 2014 at 05:34 PM

Oshie domination

Posted by STL_Llamapirate on October 10, 2014 at 12:30 PM

Who would have thought Oshie would have the first fight of the season. GO BLUES!

Posted by jerry s on October 11, 2014 at 05:45 AM

good to see the heat of the moment scraps

Posted by corygeb on October 10, 2014 at 01:26 AM

Zodijackyl, the only reason Oshie was bleeding is because he got cut by his own helmet in the first period.

Posted by havanarat on October 12, 2014 at 07:40 PM

Oshie did his best impression of Reeves, LOL

Posted by HeroicDoses on October 10, 2014 at 08:39 AM

Not exactly the greatest fight, but Oshie clearly wins. Points to Zuc for stepping into the ring though. One tough little hobbit bastard.

Posted by jrh on October 10, 2014 at 09:29 AM

Easy win for Oshie.

Posted by DARCY T on October 31, 2014 at 04:27 PM

zuccarello's 1st nhl fight and oshie's 3rd but i think everybody expected oshie to win.zuccarello held his own 1st half of the fight but it was all oshie after the got up again

Posted by mpagano22 on October 10, 2014 at 09:51 AM

anyone that voted for Zuccarello is an idiot. Not even close

Posted by boldbilly on October 10, 2014 at 09:09 AM

This was better than I thought it would be ....lol a little one sided with oshie doing all the damage zzzzzzzzuccarelo paid for his ill advised bravado

Posted by JoMilla on January 13, 2015 at 05:07 PM

Oshie duh.

Posted by Seanyany on October 20, 2014 at 09:34 AM

2 skilled players have a disagreement and settle it by dropping the mits. Oshie with the win.

Posted by slavv on October 10, 2014 at 09:18 PM

Zuccarello was looking for an ass-kcking so Oshie gladly gave it to him....

Posted by Gillesthebeast on October 10, 2014 at 12:45 PM

Only a blind Ranger fan could give a vote to Zuccarello... tough little guy but shouldn't be dropping his gloves even with a guy like Oshie who doesn't fight...Zuc got hammered and was lucky not to get hurt

Posted by The Mad House on October 10, 2014 at 12:13 AM

Pretty good scrap between two lesser combatants Don't think I've ever seen Zuccarello scrap But he sure is a pain to play against.. Oshie has always been a tough kid He lands often here and dominates Against the smaller Norwegian

Posted by shawnrocks on October 09, 2014 at 10:57 PM

TJ gave that guy a beat down. just givin him the jackhammer

Posted by kyhammer on October 10, 2014 at 01:07 AM

Oshie easily.

Posted by hipcheckCHI on October 10, 2014 at 07:05 PM

Zuccarello upholding the longstanding tradition of fighting prowess by people named "Mats."

Didnt Think Oshie had it in him!

Posted by paulnutz on October 10, 2014 at 09:49 AM

Looked initially for be a bad fight overall then Oshie comes in and dominates him from the start. Clear, good win, Oshie.

Posted by mcbratz1187 on October 10, 2014 at 10:04 AM

Good momentum-swinging scrap from two non-fighters. Love the enthusiasm from Zucc, kid's got balls.

Posted by Baladoc on October 09, 2014 at 10:42 PM

Oshie all day long. Steady diet of right hooks and uppercuts.

Posted by rprice1981 on October 09, 2014 at 11:43 PM

Dude! Oshie whooped d'at ass! Guess he's still pissed he didn't make the cover of NHL 2015. Way to go for a guy who maybe drops the gloves one or twice in his career ď

Posted by doobi1 on October 10, 2014 at 02:17 PM

Don't look now, but Zuccarello got his butt whipped. Oshie by a landslide.

Posted by Attikdrum on October 14, 2014 at 10:05 AM

Best fight i've seen so far.. thanks guys.. Oshie monsters owned Zucc but it was a nice bout.

Posted by Stephenherman12 on October 10, 2014 at 01:23 PM

Killer

Posted by JoeBlue on October 13, 2014 at 12:22 AM

One of those fights where one guy tries to block all the punches with his helmet while saying "Hey, linesman. Anytime now."

Posted by skotyrea on October 10, 2014 at 09:30 AM

OOOOOSHEEEE-IIIITTTT!!!!

Posted by seago2491 on October 12, 2014 at 01:12 AM

Butt whooping by TJ!!

Posted by Douchelarousso on October 10, 2014 at 06:10 AM

Frodo gives up a ton of size to the ogre oshie for the win.

Posted by COLDCOCK WHISKY on October 09, 2014 at 10:52 PM

Great fight

Posted by skierleeub on February 06, 2015 at 11:21 AM

The non-fighter vs. the smallest guy in the league, and somehow this was entertaining as hell to watch. Kudos to Zucc for showing the heart, but next time he might want to match up with someone his own size....

Posted by jcholmes on October 20, 2014 at 04:50 AM

The smurf got beaten down. Man, those Rags go down quick.

Posted by Humper on October 10, 2014 at 08:59 AM

Zuccarello's first NHL bout (versus another non-fighter) and giving up 5 inches and 15 pounds, it's little wonder he comes out on the wrong side of this one. Good energy shown by both guys.

Posted by chad420 on October 10, 2014 at 12:15 PM

T.J. putting down some zuccini

Posted by pvdrummer2000 on October 11, 2014 at 05:45 PM

I love it when a non fighter gets pissed enough to drop them. Great intensity by Oshie... wish he did this more often.

Posted by ironbar44 on October 10, 2014 at 08:45 AM

if you never watched a RANGER game he gets away with more cheap crap because he's a muchkin guys don't want to hurt him .he got some this time .

Posted by pfflyers on October 10, 2014 at 08:32 AM

Zucc gives up six inches and 50 pounds yet bloodies TJ.

Posted by bigmike53 on October 10, 2014 at 12:44 AM

Zuc is in over his head literally in this one. Oshie with the uppercuts and the win in this scrap.

Posted by Massive Coiler on October 09, 2014 at 10:44 PM

I was pleasantly surprised in this one. Not a great fight, but it was a lot better than most star player fights turn out. Edge Oshie, he was the only one throwing them, and he was throwing a lot of them.

Posted by King of Goons on October 12, 2014 at 12:00 AM

Zuccarello looked like a little Chihuahua dog getting mauled by a Terrier. That was funny.

Posted by Z.Zalapski on October 10, 2014 at 09:46 AM

Zuccarello is the man. If his body was about 6 times larger he would be an absolutely dominant physical force. Guy has the heart of a lion. Oshie fighting with the visor on. Huge minus.

Posted by Behn Wilson on October 11, 2014 at 02:45 PM

Win Oshie I guess but the overall sloppiness of these under qualified fighters will take some getting used to Sigh...

Posted by bhamill on October 09, 2014 at 11:53 PM

Well, Oshie threw a lot of punches that didn't seem to land against possibly the smallest player in the league who has never had a fight of any kind before in his life and who I'm pretty sure didn't throw an actual punch in this... hahaha, so I'll give TJ the win. It wasn't a good fight, but kudos to both of them for caring enough to try.

Posted by Kordic64 on October 10, 2014 at 10:06 AM

5.7????? C'mon people. If Zuccs didn't hit his head on the post, he came awfully close. Greatest sound in hockey occurs at the .09 mark. T.J. using his height advantage in the tilt.

Posted by mudman55 on October 10, 2014 at 07:37 AM

That was entertaining in the same way that a 4-year-old walking in 8 inches of snow is entertaining. Zuccarello probably had to apply ice to his upper back from the slaps Oshie was putting on him.

Posted by FHgrad99 on October 10, 2014 at 12:13 PM

This was TJ Oshie's first fight since February 2013. He made a pretty good accounting of himself here. He landed a lot more than Zuccarello and got the win.

Posted by Zodijackyl on October 09, 2014 at 11:17 PM

Zucc took a lot of punches to the back, but only landed one. Oshie was bleeding in the penalty box from that one.
