Good fight Simmons the winner

Posted by Orig6 on December 12, 2013 at 11:28 AM

If anyone does not understand why the Hawks are the best team in the league, take a look at another example of their superior hockey IQ. Hawks come out flat in 1st pd after coming home off big road win in Dallas. Last line defenseman Brookbank responds to clean hit on Keith and takes off one of Philly's better players for 5 mins. Well done, Sheldon.

draw draw draw!

Going with a draw in this even tilt, no real damage. I'd like to see the fight from the onset.

Posted by fernben8 on December 11, 2013 at 11:18 PM

Decent fight....going with a Draw. Looks like the both of them are natural right handers but can throw their left as well.

Posted by DJR63 on December 12, 2013 at 11:29 PM

Clean hit before the start of the fight. Slight edge to Simmonds and I really don't like him.

Posted by bigtigga200 on December 12, 2013 at 12:34 AM

Pretty even fight. But why does Brookbank think he has to fight after a good clean hit by Simmonds? I hope Brookbank got an extra two minutes here for instigating the fight.

Good bout…too close to call

Entertaining fight where each fighter got in a few shots and tied each other up pretty good. Got to go with a draw.

Posted by CheapSeats on December 13, 2013 at 03:30 PM

Simmons has a huge reach... wow. Brookbank stood in there just fine...

Posted by DARCY T on December 14, 2013 at 05:34 AM

good job by brookbank and he showed great balance in this fight...draw

Posted by Tex55 on December 12, 2013 at 06:53 AM

Pretty good scrap -- called it a draw.

I wish the networks hired better hockey directors, they have no taste for where the action is, and those ridiculous close-ups of the goalies. They wear masks, exactly what is the point. Take a wide view so the people at home can see what's going on.

Posted by Great Murray on December 12, 2013 at 10:32 AM

Good Fight...Draw. Good trade for Chicago...Brookbank wasn't missed for 5 minutes. Simmons is the 2nd best player on the Flyers with LeCavalier out.

Posted by KingNothing on December 12, 2013 at 09:29 PM

While I appreciate fighting, this every check gets you in a fight crap... is well crap. Draw

Posted by Oldpirate on December 12, 2013 at 09:39 AM

Good recovery by Brookbank at start. Both pretty good technically. Endurance test. Score it a draw.

Posted by srehm1 on December 14, 2013 at 09:51 AM

Nice fight. Both land a few. Draw.

Posted by sedinfan on December 11, 2013 at 10:23 PM

I agree with yankees67, no one is aloud to lay a clean body check without having to fight anymore. Makes it tough for the non fighters that hit.

Posted by stinglaw on December 11, 2013 at 11:23 PM

Simmonds throws bombs. If he connects you will wake up thinking you're Ethel Merman.

Sheldon cleaned his clock

Posted by pvdrummer2000 on December 14, 2013 at 01:44 AM

Two fighters that I really like duking it out. I give the edge to Simmonds for landing a couple better bombs.

Posted by ScarbroSaint on December 12, 2013 at 05:37 PM

WORST slow mo replay ever Wayne looked like a SAPO tree frog that shit fucks u up any way good hit lucky keith head not hurt DRAW

Posted by pepsigenerate on December 11, 2013 at 09:00 PM

simmonds with the win for effective swings,

Posted by riffraff on December 11, 2013 at 11:13 PM

Keith is a bitch.

Posted by scorp1on on December 12, 2013 at 11:58 PM

Stop babbling about the score. It was 0-0 when this fight happened. Simmonds gets a W as punishment for stupid comments. Nah.. it was a draw

Posted by Sweeney2112 on December 11, 2013 at 08:51 PM

Decent scrap

Posted by double d on December 12, 2013 at 07:57 PM

slight edge to Simmonds. brookbank is a great teammate. he always shows up. the highly skilled hawks need him in the lineup, with bollig starting to think hes the next gretzky brooky is left to enforce.

Posted by Tampa Fan on December 14, 2013 at 09:32 AM

Clean check. Had the player not gone airborne before he hit the ice I don't think a fight would have occurred. Clean check + flying body = perceived boarding... Perceived boarding = fight. Too much?

Posted by BooSanta on December 12, 2013 at 08:04 PM

The Bank comes in to avenge the brilliant check and survives the slip to get early scoring with short sharp ones, but M'il Wayne with that zany reach gives him the technical victory with rangy scores throughout. Chi-town gets the moral victory by avenging the fight with a scoring barrage later.

Posted by staceyb on December 12, 2013 at 06:31 AM

Simmonds rides Keith hard into the boards which is a no-no on Chicago home ice. He takes the bout over Brookbank but the fight woke up the B-hawks who skated pirouettes around the flatfooted Flyers in the second and third periods.

Posted by fentonhardy on December 14, 2013 at 12:14 PM

Slight edge to Simmonds. He gets in the better shots and lands more of them.

Posted by theSDauncey on December 12, 2013 at 04:49 AM

simmonds means business when he fights

Posted by bigsul513 on December 11, 2013 at 11:00 PM

Simmonds grinds out the W here. I also have no problem with Brookbank offering, getting hit clean or not doesn't feel good, and Brookbank offers to stick up for Keith and Simmonds accepts, and away they go. Great Hockey!!

Posted by EDDUBBS on December 12, 2013 at 05:47 PM

Simmonds better and harder shots. Brookbank acquits himself ok, but can't best Simmonds

Posted by lynchmob450 on December 11, 2013 at 08:58 PM

Simmer brings it every fight. Win.

Posted by Behn Wilson on December 12, 2013 at 01:07 AM

Brookbank avenges a clean albeit dramatic hit and comes up swinging from an early fall He then goes on to hang in surprisingly well against Mr Freakish Reach... but a couple of good jersey grips eliminate any chance of some serious toe to toe Simmonds on points [email protected]

Posted by hkhk on December 11, 2013 at 09:37 PM

solid fight simmonds get the win on points like brookbank standing up for teammate

Posted by tpr1960 on December 12, 2013 at 08:51 AM

Simmonds had a bigger reach, slight edge

Posted by Mark1967 on December 11, 2013 at 11:36 PM

Win to Simmonds! 6.0

Posted by curleyqlink78 on December 12, 2013 at 08:36 PM

brookbank takes exception to a clean hit . there was no attempt wake up his team by simmonds. this fight took place @ 1:47 of the first period. there was no score. they were not loosing by 5 as mentioned by billybuzzbomb

Posted by EK65 on December 12, 2013 at 02:03 AM

Highly energetic tilt.. Simmonds should really do this more.. gave him the slight edge due to personal bias although probably more of a draw.. On a side note I saw bollig/morin/rosehill/coburn get 10s for basically only looking at each other funny... refs are giving those out like hotcakes this year.. speaking of hotcakes mcdonalds breakfast starts serving in 4 and a half hours.. mmmm

Posted by borishorda88 on December 11, 2013 at 10:08 PM

Close. Edge Simmonds

Posted by Lupac on December 12, 2013 at 03:02 PM

Simmonds with the edge. Is there anyone with more heart on the Flyers then Simmer??? Flyers are playing like doodle right now, but simmer is always stepping up to try and make things happen. Were just not responding, and I have a big penis

Posted by 066987488 on December 11, 2013 at 08:48 PM

Edge Simmonds, Brookbank can't scrap like he use to

Posted by CBoom on December 13, 2013 at 07:51 PM

Simmons landed many more punches. Havent seen a Simmonds fight last that long. I guess he is game after all.

Posted by dropem99 on December 12, 2013 at 08:18 AM

Brookbank sticking up for a teammate after a clean hit becomes a victim of superior firepower and Simmons long range arsenal.

Posted by Orr Fourever on December 12, 2013 at 07:21 AM

Simmonds with the win. Love Simmonds game. Orpik take note. That's how it's done.

Posted by Derek Dink on December 12, 2013 at 10:54 AM

This reminds me of that game I used to play in 5th grade with my best friends where we would take turns punching each other in the shoulder till one of us gave up. Draw.

Posted by kkdowning on December 13, 2013 at 09:04 AM

Very close, maybe edge Simmonds. Surprised Brookbank did as well as he did. Simmonds is definetly the sort of guy you want on your team.

Posted by Mounty in NC on December 12, 2013 at 09:47 PM

Flyers get destroyed on the scoreboard so they do what they do shots. Simmonds with a late cheap check and Brookbank comes to the defense of his teammate. Decent fight but I give it a draw!

Posted by brownie21 on December 13, 2013 at 06:11 PM

Good scrap, about as even as a good fight can be.

Posted by chad420 on December 12, 2013 at 10:24 AM

decent draw

Posted by Humper on December 11, 2013 at 10:15 PM

Pretty even fight, but the slightest of edges to Simmonds. Lots of exertion but unfortunately not much else.

Posted by yankees67 on December 11, 2013 at 09:49 PM

Not bad. Simmons with a win. Is anyone allowed to check anymore without having to fight after?

Posted by Bear72 on December 12, 2013 at 09:04 AM

Sheldon with the victory only because i do not like Simmons

Posted by BillyBuzzBomb on December 12, 2013 at 08:51 AM

Another misguided attempt by the Flyers to wake up their team.....losing by 5 goals. This was a legitimate way to play in the 70's because a bulk of the teams they played regularly played the same way......alas maybe the Flyers will get the memo that brawling will not win them any divisions, conferences or cups.
