...Finley did okay -- till Reaves started fighting-back,.......win Reaves,....

Posted by STL13 on January 21, 2012 at 10:12 PM

The announcers seemed like they were trying say Finley's shots were connecting when they weren't. Clearly a Reaves win....Finley almost turtled there at the end.

does anyone throw a punch harder than reaves??

Reaves did good. I'm not gonna call this guy a true heavy until he drops the gloves with John Scott.

Noobie's hurt!!! Boys doing there best to entertain. No genuine ill will........... mostly a C+ for entertainment value. Finley kid may be fighting with a broken hand he reinjured in the Martin fight a week ago? Takes some courage to answer the bell down a paw. ( #4 wasn't punching with a fist, but a forearm, hence the off balance "turtle". ) Couple of young bucks learning a trade, getting to know there dance patterns. Noobie's hurt. Too many nobbie's and you break a hand. Gotta admire and respect the boys for trying.

good scrap.gave it a 6...what a pity finley lost his balance.draw

Decent heavyweight bout. Finley with some early bombs and Reaves with some late bombs, however, neither seemed to land anything solid.

Posted by gdameo on January 21, 2012 at 11:09 PM

61% reaves? what the hell are y'all smoking?

Posted by novICE7 on January 22, 2012 at 12:14 AM

Two big fighters. Finley threw some haymakers early on but missed. Looks like they both landed some temple shots (Reaves at 0:28 and Finley at 0:31). Overall a good go. DRAW.

Reaves win

Posted by theSDauncey on January 22, 2012 at 05:39 AM

Reaves is what we call in australia, a 'dirty aboriginal'. but he won

Posted by EDDUBBS on January 21, 2012 at 10:23 PM

Finley waved on the beating and Reaves delivered.

Posted by Behn Wilson on January 22, 2012 at 08:23 PM

Reaves weathers the initial storm, and eventually makes Finley fall like a Klitchko. GreatMurray is on to something, in that this fight may have been much better, had it actually been fought ''skateless''.

Reaves for the win. The StL feed had a nice moment after a commercial break, , the bench stood up and tapped the boards for Reaves when he got back to the bench after serving his 5. Pretty cool.

Reaves comes back with the noogie shots at the end to claim the victory. With McNabb concussed it looks like the Sabres are test firing the Fin for his official debut against the Boston Bruins in a revenge match. Expect a Finley-Chara scrap though Thornton will jump first in line for a shot at the rookie. Mark your calendar for February 8th.

reaves gets the win.

Posted by jvwood1 on January 21, 2012 at 10:47 PM

Reaves win. I'd hate to see what happens if any of those hammers he throws really connects. Finley is huge, but Reaves was nimble to dodge the bombs...

Posted by shawn46 on January 22, 2012 at 07:53 PM

Reeves with a donkey punch for the win....

Posted by GreatMurray on January 22, 2012 at 03:59 PM

Had the makings of a good one but fizzled. Reaves wins a close one. Too bad the big clowns can't skate better...would make for some really good fights!

Posted by FightsOfHockey on January 21, 2012 at 11:32 PM

Heavyweights here we go. Huge height difference here. edge to Reaves.

Posted by DonnieSEAL1 on January 22, 2012 at 12:28 AM

Alright fight for both. Win for my favorite hockey play Reaves.. for landing 1-2 punches and having refs jump in.

Nice to see Finley get beaten. He has been a piece of crap since college. I heard they are trying to teach him to use silverwear.

Posted by bluesrule08 on January 22, 2012 at 12:39 PM

since i kinda know joe finley from covering amerks games i was hoping he wouldn't fight someone on the blues because i would have to root against him. but he fared well. i still gave the win to reaves.

Finley was actually looking good until he lost his balance throwing his last bomb there and Reaves took advantage.

Posted by Kenney21 on January 23, 2012 at 11:21 AM

Clear win for Reeves

Posted by st. bernard on January 22, 2012 at 12:58 PM

reaves wins, best part of fight is finley rubbing his head at the end.

Posted by Bluetiedown44 on January 22, 2012 at 12:05 AM

Not much connecting, Reaves looked beastly against an extremely large, overmatched Finley.

Posted by jim_mckenzie33 on January 21, 2012 at 11:04 PM

Very interesting matchup. Super heavyweights. Reaves takes it with the late takedown.

Posted by CupInSTL on January 23, 2012 at 09:29 PM

Pretty even fight. Edge Reaves. Go Blues!!

Posted by Double Nickels on January 29, 2012 at 01:54 AM

See, Joe, in the USHL, you can be 6'7 and you are a fighter. In the WHL, you gotta be able to go. Watch how Reaves uses the jersey to work his way inside (:29-:32). Domination.

Posted by Reggie Fleming on January 22, 2012 at 01:27 AM

Finley got his butt ox kicked. Always bet on black.

Posted by Stevens Lindros on January 21, 2012 at 10:12 PM

Reaves won

Posted by slavv on January 23, 2012 at 10:57 AM

Finley had no answer for Reaves....

Posted by pvdrummer2000 on March 12, 2015 at 03:13 AM

Finley tossed a few, then got pounded for his effort.

Posted by chad420 on January 23, 2012 at 12:13 PM

win Reaver

Posted by FHgrad99 on January 22, 2012 at 02:21 AM

Reaves with the strong finish gets the win here. Finley was swinging big early but he was missing over Reaves' head with some of his punches. Reaves was able to connect with his bigger shots.

Posted by kkdowning on January 22, 2012 at 08:32 AM

Edge to Reaves -- Finley tries to use his reach to his advantage and fails because Reaves was able to get a good jersey grip and throw bombs

Posted by chris72gross on February 05, 2012 at 12:04 PM

Finley lands a good one early, but Reaves capitalizes when Finley gets pulled down. Almost a really good fight, edge, Reaves.

Posted by Radiotalker on January 21, 2012 at 11:03 PM

Reaves has a lot of potential. Big win here taking down a much larger opponent.
