Ott early, Abdelkader late...nothing more and nothing less that a DRAW.

Posted by Big_Goon on December 20, 2010 at 10:35 AM

Boring draw.

Posted by jmk430 on December 19, 2010 at 09:50 PM

Hug-fest. Abdelkaber looks like a sissy for pulling Ott's jersey over his eyes. If he really wanted to go Ott would've gladly obliged him. Draw for the inactivity.

1 - watch fight 2 - pause at 0:57 3 - place pants around ankles 4 - ugghhhh

Posted by DARCY T on December 28, 2010 at 05:24 AM

i dont understand why abdelkader dropped the gloves.he didnt want no part of it but ott wasnt able to capitalize on that.he out muscled him and was tossing abdelkader around like baby but i call it draw

Posted by b.t.wilson on December 19, 2010 at 10:10 PM

i might have blushed a little bit watching that. nice to see the red wing land one nice shot there after ott tried to bend him over. full marks to the red wings girls. not sure if abdelkader had much time to lose the bucket, seemed like they were dropping the gloves and ott was throwing. draw and a 4.

Posted by bawhite on December 20, 2010 at 03:18 PM

As a wings fan glad to see Abdelkader didn't get beat again. I'll give the kid an E for effort however he don't get the win. I'm not an Ott fan but he should have beat Abdelkader outright. Ott looks for it, Abdelkader does well enough to not get another loss to his record. I give it a draw and a 4. Brad May might have smiled at his effort on this one.

Posted by fernben8 on December 20, 2010 at 12:44 PM

Looks like Ott went looking for it and picked his spot by going after Justin. Abdelkader gets leverage on Ott at the end but more impresively, shows us how good his balance is on skates. Ott frustarated as he didn't get the result he was looking for... Going with a Draw.

Posted by mike563 on December 22, 2010 at 12:57 AM

ott actully looked good in this draw

Posted by sporr on December 22, 2010 at 06:12 PM

Apparently all Detroit fans don't know what a fight is and when one of the Red Wings gets in one, it's an automatic win. This wrestling match is clearly a draw although props to "kator for hanging in there agaisnt a more experienced fighter.

Posted by staceyb on December 19, 2010 at 10:26 PM

The fight doctor Mickey Redmond pronounced two tired fighters then whoops it cranks up again. Pretty even contest as I see it. Dallas wins in OT.

Decent Fight. i call it a draw.

Win Ott

Posted by bilbobaggins on December 22, 2010 at 06:37 AM

Like a junior high school fight, they spent most of the fight pulling and tugging and then giving each other headlocks. Ott had early shots and more consistents. Little Justin tried to get it going towards the end but more wrestling than punching. Red Wings continue to be wimps.

Posted by Aldous on December 19, 2010 at 11:06 PM

One good hit at the end after dancing and trying to play bookaboo with a jersey doesn't get a W. I vote Ott. P.S. - stop the Ott hating.

Posted by Bluetiedown44 on December 19, 2010 at 10:57 PM

A Redwing fight, what an aberration. Ott worked Abdel-Kedar over most of the fight until the uppercut and jersey over the eyes. Was the visor on and jersey pull part of those celebrated boxing lessons in East Lansing? I don't care for Ott but he fights.

Posted by slavv on December 20, 2010 at 10:35 PM

Ott is a punk bitch...

Posted by MrMagooo on December 20, 2010 at 09:53 PM

Ott lost

Posted by slap shut-it on December 20, 2010 at 11:25 AM

Ott is a useless piece of crap, same school as the Neal's, Clutterbuck's, Tootoo's of the league...jump off the bench, skate around their own net, down to the other end of the rink and run someone over with a high hit...what happened to the charging call? At least Clutterbuck can play some. Then the douche fights anyone on Detroit, can anyone on Detroit be called a fighter under any circumstance? Come on. Take on someone who can handle them self. W- Abdewhatever for the one punch that landed.

Posted by Riomouse911 on December 20, 2010 at 03:42 PM

If there were ever two guys I want to see throw haymakers and knock each other out at the same time it's these two. But since it didn't happen, JA with a 10-9 decision over SO.

Posted by tattooedkingpin on December 19, 2010 at 10:45 PM

Diehard Wings fan, but C'Mon Man! Spring for a real fucking enforcer already. W Abby anyway for that uppercut. P.S. Ott is garbage

Posted by ghjkfdhgfd on December 20, 2010 at 01:12 AM

Abby wins

Posted by Behn Wilson on December 20, 2010 at 02:36 AM

Either I'm having an acid flashback, or a Wing actually just won a fight... Therefore, since the walls don't appear to be melting... the moment, at least... win ''applicator''.

Posted by 3-26-97 on December 19, 2010 at 10:36 PM

I only saw the highlight but it looked like both of these guys were pretty low on energy, mighta been at the end of their shifts. Abdelkader's uppercut appeared to be the only decent connection throughout so I'm giving him the W but props to both dudes for droppin' em.

Posted by bruins rule on December 20, 2010 at 07:45 AM

gave justin the edge in this fight.

Posted by Slapshot007 on December 19, 2010 at 10:14 PM

Ott started it and Abdelkader finished it...Win Abdelkader with the uppercut.

Posted by nbecc1 on December 22, 2010 at 02:06 PM

Ott is the biggest trim having bitch in the game today. He is a punk and abby punked him. I would like to see Bert and Big E take up for there teammates much more and why Bert never fights anymore is beyond me. I don't see enough guys pulling together to stick up for each other on the WINGS, Zetty and PD have been targeted to much and guys need to start whipping some butts if guys keep going after the EURO TWINS COME ON BERT AND BIG E

Posted by QUIGGS22 on December 20, 2010 at 05:08 PM

Ott should be ashamed of himself Abdelkader

Posted by LA KING FANATIC on December 22, 2010 at 12:41 PM

Abdelkader wins...why? 3 reasons: #1- I hate Steve Ott #2- A vicious uppercut was the only solid punch landed #3- I hate Steve Ott ok, two reasons

Posted by acmocaco on December 20, 2010 at 09:41 AM

This was like watching two fights. In the first Steve Ott pounded Abdelkader. But Ott couldn't finish the job. Funny too since Ott had a massive advantage in size and experience. Abdelkader chaulks up the 'W' in this one. PS Steve Ott is and always will be a bitch

Posted by moneybags on December 20, 2010 at 03:12 AM

wish ab. beat him more severely

Posted by bighernz on December 19, 2010 at 10:45 PM

Living in Detroit it is a relief to see one player drop the gloves. And these "boxing" lessons I hear about every time Abdelkader fights are getting annoying. Edge Abdelkader for landing a solid uppercut

Posted by Detroit_Caps on December 19, 2010 at 10:27 PM

Ott early Abdelkiller late. . .this kid just keeps getting better and better. . . another year (and some more boxing lessons) he;s going to be a beast

Posted by Juha82 on December 20, 2010 at 06:41 AM

Good fight in my book. Abdelkader with the EGDE/NARROW WIN because of great uppercut!!! Hands down, this is edge/narrow win Abdelkader

Posted by cigaros on December 20, 2010 at 08:37 AM

I smirkled when I saw Ott's face when he skated away, as if to say, "A Red Wings isn't supposed to fight back." and "How dare you pull my jersey up and punch me in the face." My hunch is Ott went back to the dressing room and got ribbed a bit for looking weak against a Red WIng in a fight.

Posted by E_S_A_D on December 20, 2010 at 08:33 AM

Nice Upper cut by Abbs. Boxing lessons paying off.

Posted by keeffan42 on May 04, 2011 at 01:33 AM

abdelkader is as tough as they come

Eat it Otter

Posted by Raoul Duke 708 on December 20, 2010 at 07:00 PM

Abdel wearing a damn riot shield, weak. Otto held on the whole time. Garbage fight.

Posted by Oil Can Henry on December 20, 2010 at 01:41 AM

This is garbage - no winner

Posted by xilef on January 19, 2011 at 06:44 PM

Anyone who saw a winner is looking through his "homer" glasses. Draw.

Posted by Viper207 on December 20, 2010 at 05:22 PM

Why is this voted so high? It's just an ugly, ugly draw.

Posted by piney on December 21, 2010 at 09:36 AM

not much of a fight. draw

Posted by BritishRedWing on December 19, 2010 at 09:35 PM

Oh my goodness. I can only vote draw on this one, and still "show my face" around here. My main problem is that every fight I have seen w/Abdelkader, he has kept his lid on. I know at least someone on the Wings is fighting, but come on. This was embarrasing. Justin actually had the bollocks to try and take off OTT's bloody helmet! WTF?

Posted by Zarley Z on December 22, 2010 at 11:45 PM

A Red Wing took boxing lessons??? Why? For the 5 fights they will get in all season? For Ott supposedly being a tough guy/enforcer/agitator, he is not a very good fighter.

Posted by chad420 on December 20, 2010 at 10:07 AM

win Applicator

Posted by hockeyherman on December 20, 2010 at 09:51 AM

Typical Ott fighting a non-fighter but then we will see his true colours when Dallas plays the Ducks/Blues/Kings when he will turn tail and run from Parros/Crombeen/Westgarth! And not only that but he lost this fight!

Posted by tim daddy on December 20, 2010 at 09:49 AM

the mighty steve ott seeks out another titanic opponent, and loses

Posted by ajadams024 on December 20, 2010 at 05:30 PM

Pretty close bout till abdelkader got that upper cut in. good to see abdelkader land his first punch of the year after all his fights so far

Posted by hncreature on December 19, 2010 at 10:18 PM

One square uppercut wins over three noogies to the back of the head

Posted by redwingwalleye6 on February 05, 2011 at 05:59 PM

1 punch difference.

Posted by dropthemitts11 on December 19, 2010 at 11:17 PM

Say what you want about Abdelkader but I give him props for coming out of the NCAA and at least trying to fight. He's getting better, he didnt have 4 years in the whl like most guys to learn how to fight great. Gets a w over an experienced solid middle weight. And you guys are really chirping him for pulling the jersey up like that? getting jerseyed happens in a lot of fights its pretty common
