Ivanans runs a Senator along the boards and Chara is right in the vicinity. The play continues up ice, but the refs blow it down as Chara and Ivanans are circling, gloves still on. They continue like this and then nod their heads when the gloves finally come off. They continue to circle around and have a long square off and go at each other at the same time. Chara throws the first that lands, then they trade a few shots that do no more than graze. The two big men are now off-balance and fall to the ice, but as they are falling Chara lands a nice shot. When the linsemen get in there Chara stands up and gives Ivanans a shot while he's still on his knees. Ivanans was bleeding and had to head to the dressing room for repairs. Report is he lost some teeth and was cut under the eye. He didn't return to the game. Other Penalties: Chara received a cross checking; Ivanans a roughing.

Brashear throws a nice hit on Kimisarek and Komisarek pushes Brash and then drops his gloves. They grab on and Komisarek tries to throw a few rights, but nothing lands. Komisarek gets Brashear's helmet off and still can't land anything. Brashear tries to throw a few lefts, but nothing lands. As they wrestle, Komisarek goes to a knee and gets back up. Brashear tries to throw a few more lefts and nothing seems to land, then Komisarek wrestles him to the ice. Other Penalties: Komisarek received an instigator and misconduct.

Begin checks Wez Walz hard into the boards leaving Walz almost motionless on the ice. Henry goes right after Begin as they drop the gloves. Begin throws a couple of wild lefts before switching hands and throwing a right. Henry throws 4-5 rights as Begin returns fire with a couple of his own. Henry then wrestles Begin to the ice. Other Penalties: Begin received a boarding major and game misconduct.

Souray checks Clark along the boards as they push and shove a little. Souray gives Clark a shot as he skates away. Clark shoves Souray back before the sticks get up and the two drop the gloves. They grapple as Souray throws Clark to the ice and throws two right hands before Clark even has both of his gloves off. Souray tries to get a couple of short body shots in as the linesmen try to seperate the two. Other Penalties: Souray received a cross checking.

They drop the gloves near the blueline and square off. They grab on and Murray starts things off with four quick rights to the back of Janssen's head and then connects with two jersey-jabs. Janssen throws an uppercut and a right before the two exchange punches to the side of each other's helmets. Murray lands two rights as Janssen tries to shake off his elbow pad. Janssen throws two rights and Murray one before Murray switches hands and throws a few jersey-jabs. Janssen connects with a wild uppercut and then rips off Murray's helmet as Murray buries his head into Janssen's shoulder. Janssen lands two uppercuts and 5-6 rights to the back of Murray's head before Murray skates away himself.

McCarty hits Souray hard along the boards as Souray shoves McCarty in retaliation. They start talking as Craig Rivet skates over and gives McCarty a cross-check before skating away. Souray and McCarty then drop the gloves and square off. Souray grabs on and throws a right before McCarty returns fire with four lefts of his own with Souray landing a left during the exchange. McCarty switches hands and throws a right before Souray throws two rights. They go back and forth with punches: both trading lefts including Souray landing one that stuns McCarty for a short moment. McCarty misses with a right as Souray puts his head down. They wrestle around trying to get loose as blood streams down McCarty's face. They continue to grapple as Souray rips McCarty's helmet off before they each miss with a left. Souray throws two lefts with one landing before they wrestle up against the glass. McCarty lands three quick lefts as Souray misses with an overhand left before the linesmen come in and end the scrap. They talk for a little bit before going their seperate ways as both guys skate back to the dressing room: McCarty for repairs on a cut that has blood streaming down his face; Souray to clean his blood-stained helmet. Souray was wearing a brace on his wrist and was tossed out of the game for it. Other Penalties: Souray received an attempt to injure penalty.

Adams takes a run at Rivet along the boards and the two push and shove before dropping the gloves. Rivet throws four rights, landing two, while Adams is bent over. Rivet throws three more rights while trying to rip off Adams' helmet at the same time. Adams stands up straight and Rivet throws three more rights that graze the top of Adams' head. They each exchange a couple of right hands as Rivet lands a right to the back of Adams' head. They wrestle around, struggling to get loose as they each throw a short right. Rivet gets free and throws four rights as Adams tries to duck away from the punches. Rivet continues to throw rights as Adams returns fire with some lefts of his own. They wrestle around in close quarters until the linesmen come in and end the fight.

Nick Boynton gives Mike Ribeiro a stick in the midsection and then Ribeiro takes a shot at Boynton. At first Boynton skates away, but after a moment he goes after Ribeiro, drops the gloves and a huge scrum ensues. Rivet gets into the scrum trying to pull Boynton off of Ribeiro. Gill is pasted on Rivet's back trying to pull him out of the scrum. While Gill is trying to work Rivet free he slips and falls to the ice. Rivet ends up on top of Gill and they end up wrestling around on the ice and are eventually separated. Other Penalties: Nick Boynton received a double spearing and game misconduct; Mike Ribeiro a roughing.

The players pair off, and after 15 seconds of pushing and tugging on one another, Dandenault and Allison start throwing punches. Allison starts off with a right uppercut, following by two overhand rights. Dandenault answers with an uppercut and they tie up. After a pause, Allison throws three rights and Dandenault makes a few half-hearted attempts to answer before the linesmen move in. Other Penalties: Tie Domi received a double roughing and misconduct; Todd Simpson a roughing.

Tucker, bleeding badly from his forehead, gets up, seeks out Kovalev, drops his gloves, and jumps him. Tucker lands two hard rights before everyone jumps in and a large five on five scrum ensues. The pair never gets free enough to throw any more punches and they're eventually wrestled down to the ice and broken up by the linesmen. Other Penalties: Tucker reiceved an instigator and misconduct; Kovalev a major elbowing and game misconduct.

Souray then switches hands and throws some lefts to a turtled Malone before the linesmen come in.

Godard turns around to face Komisarek and Komisarek drops his gloves and grabs ahold of Godard while Godard keeps his gloves on and doesn't let go of his stick. They're over by the boards now and Komisarek feeds Godard about six rights while Godard covers up. The linesmen then move in to stop it. Other Penalties: Komisarek received an instigator, misconduct and game misconduct; Godard a roughing. Eric Godard did not receive a fighting major.

The two then exchange 4-5 lefts each to the back of each other's head before falling to the ice.

Simpson connects with a right that knocks LaCouture's helmet off and lands two short uppercuts while LaCouture goes down to a knee. LaCouture returns to his feet, only to fall down once again just as Simpson throws a right. The linesmen then intervene and end the fight.

They spin around and Murray lands another jab and throws two wild rights to the back of Wiemer's head while they grapple. They continue to wrestle around and attempt locked-out punches until the linesmen come in. Wiemer skates away with a welt around his left eye. Other Penalties: Aaron Downey received a misconduct.
