Comments: Lapointe crunched Gleason into the boards from behind and Gleason wasn't happy. He didn't have a stick, but tried to shove Marty a little. Lapointe dropped 'em and started to throw. He and Gleason went down quick, but it didn't even look like Gleason got his gloves off. Didn't deserve majors. Other Penalties: Lapointe received a boarding.

Comments: Off the start Lappy already has his elbow pad off. They squareoff with Lappy telling Boynton to come on. He does with a good left. Boynton controls the begining of the fight as Laperriere is trying to get Boynton's lid off. He does and they start trading, Boyton must have landed a good one as it popped of Lappy's hat. Laperriere turns the tables and lands a few of his own. He gets Boyton off-balance.

Comments: They each get two for roughing and decide to go right after they get out of the box. Lots of grappling as Lapperriere was trying to get his elbow pad off. He gets free, lands some shots, mostly to the back of the head, some to the face and he also landed a body shot. Fitzpatrick was tied up most of the time and couldn't get in much.

Comments: Murray and Ruff put the tough guys out there right after the Lappy-Fitzpatrick scrap. They aren't on the same sides of the ice, but drop them and throw off the helmets. They squareoff around center ice for a good period of time. They come in and Brennan pops Peters with a shot and Peters comes back. They get in close and throw some serious haymakers. Lots of punches thrown and landed by both. Peters put Brennan down to a knee twice during the fight and Brennan was bloody afterwards. He had cut next to his right eye that needed four stitches.

Comments: Brennan hits Vandy in the corner, no call. They skate a little and then drop them. They grapple, get loose again, and both get some good shots in. Brennan has the upper hand, throws some soft uppercuts. They exchange good shots, Vandy might have clipped Brennan with a shot and gets the takedown.

Comments: Johnson lays out a late hit on Lappy. Avery sees this and immediately skates towards Johnson and throws off his gloves. Johnson didn't see Avery coming. Avery threw about two shots, maybe one landing, before Johnson covered up and went down. Then Langkow comes in and a small scrum ensues. Other Penalties: Johnson received an interference, Daymond Langkow a game misconduct; Avery an instigator, misconduct and game misconduct. Mike Johnson did not receive a fighting major.

Comments: They decide to throw down in front of the Leaf bench. Laperriere is throwing early and connecting with a few downward shots to Roberts' head as he is having trouble standing up straight. Roberts recovers and tries to get the pistons firing, missing on most. He manages to land one before they start to wrestle. Roberts then shoves Lappy into the boards, along the bench, and Kaberle opens the door to the bench allowing Lapperiere to fall.

Comments: Avery lands one or two rights, getting McCabe to his knees. Avery hits the bigger man twice while he is down. McCabe gets back up, and they both throw some punches which appear to miss. But Avery still seems to have the upper hand, until McCabe tackles him to the ice -- and then gives him a shot to the back as the linesmen come in. Other Penalties: Alexei Ponikarovsky received an obstruction hooking.

Comments: Avery is taking the puck and Morris stands him up at Colorado's blue line. They chat for a while and Avery drops his gloves and Morris drops em as he realizes Avery is not trying to draw a penalty. A nice short squareoff and they both dive in. Morris throws one that hits nothing but helmet. Morris has a tight hold on Avery and Avery throws one that misses. Morris seemed like he wanted to hug for a while, as Avery was trying to get free. They get in close and Avery throws one more that slightly lands to the right side of Morris' face. Then Morris has Avery in a hold and has an arm free and throws about eight with the first couple landing decent and the others were missing or hitting his back.

Comments: Morrow tries to get his team pumped up and lighlty bumps Avery against the boards. They both look at each other and drop the gloves immediately. They dive in after an extremely short squareoff. Avery throws two left punches, the second one landing right on the money. Avery's head is now under Morrow's arm and Avery tries throwing one more, catching helmet and air. Avery gets his head out from under Morrow's arm and each of them throw one, with Morrow's landing better. Avery tries to throw one more, as does Morrow, and they both come up short and both fall. Afterwards you can see that Morrow was bleeding in the box, looked like it was from Avery's second punch.

Comments: As John Erskine was roughing up Avery it seemed like Ott and Avery were having words. They seemed determined to go as Avery skated away from Erskine and Ott threw off his gloves and Avery followed. They had a long squareoff that went end to end. When they finally got a hold of each other, they both threw some with Avery throwing more and landing more. Ott threw about three punches with all of them coming up short to Avery's five, with a couple of them landing. Then Ott buries his helmet-less head in Avery's chest area and Avery throws about eight punches, some uppercuts and most of them landing. Other Penalties: John Erskine received a cross checking.

Comments: Avery had a good hold of Hinote, threw about three punches, none really landed. The third right glanced off Hinote and he proceeded to pull Avery to the ice with him.

Comments: Cummins throws a gloved punch at the back of Avery's head. Brennan comes right in and drops the gloves, Cummins turns to face Brennan who is throwing right hands. Cummins never gets a punch off and Brennan tags him with three good right hands, the last one knocks Cummins to a knee, but he gets up quickly as the linesman move in. Cummins looked a bit dazed and had a cut above his left eye. Other Penalties: Brennan received an instigator and misconduct.

Comments: Off of the faceoff thesse two drop the gloves again. Brennan landed more and some better rights than Cummins did, but Cummins also landed a few this time. It looked as though Brennan put Cummins to the ice with a right this time too.

Comments: Cummins just went after Brennan again, but Brennan ducked and held on to his gloves. When the cameras got there Cummins was throwing punches at Brennan who was ducking and trying not to get hit. Other Penalties: Cummins received an instigator, misconduct and double game misconduct. Kip Brennan did not receive a fighting major.

Comments: Both guys squareoff and as Avery lunges in he gets tagged with a good right hand by Smith to the cheek area. Smith throws a couple more while Avery recovers from the first punch, with nothing much connecting. Avery mounts a comeback landing a good haymaker to the head of Smith. Smith responds with another big right that knocks Avery to a knee. Avery gets up and attempts to throw more rights, but Smith throws a barrage of punches and Avery falls off-balance and the linesmen break it up.

Comments: Avery early, Smith late. Avery seemed to land the best punch of the fight, but Smith had one punch that could have stunned Sean. Avery's jersey came up over his head a bit and Smith took advantage and landed some good shots. The linesmen then stepped in.

Comments: Off the draw, the gloves fly. LaCouture wants a squareoff, but Tripp just skates right to him and lands a solid right. LaCouture comes back with a left and they exchange a few each. They wrestle, try to get each other's helmets off, but fail, and Tripp pulls around LaCouture's jersey. Finally, they go down, Tripp with the takedown, but they both hit the ice, rather than Tripp falling on top of Dan.

Comments: They came out from behind the Kings' net and Avery had a one arm choke hold on Sillinger. Avery then threw him down to the ice. Sillinger turtled with his head down to the ice while Avery was standing over him waiting for him to stand up or turn around. When Sillinger didn't budge, Avery punched him 4-5 times in the back of the head. Everyone came together, but nothing came out of it. Other Penalties: Avery received a roughing, instigator, misconduct and game misconduct. Mike Sillinger did not receive a fighting major.

Comments: It starts with Norton checking Savage from behind into the boards. Gratton is about five feet away and immedietley comes to Savage's aid. Gratton's gloves are off first, but Norton doesn't hesitate to shed his either. Gratton he was then holding on in this one. Gratton had Norton tied up pretty well and neither fighter landed anything of significance. Maybe one or two shots from each fighter, but nothing big. Other Penalties: Norton received a checking from behind and game misconduct; Savage received a roughing, high sticking and misconduct.

Comments: Play occured to the right of the LA goal. Chartrand was a bit miffed about a hit by Sloan earlier. The two locked up on the boards, and had to struggle to even get their gloves off. When they did, the action was negligible. No real blows landed, mostly a wrsetling match.

Comments: A crowd gathered when the fight started on the other side. Ott was jawing, Norton threw a gloved punch that caught Ott, just not flush. They grappled and hit the ice with a couple of punches thrown. Other Penalties: Each player received a game misconduct.

Comments: They shed the gloves along the boards in front of the benches. Norton has Big Mac tied up pretty well. McKenzie finally gets his right free and throws three to four short punches with one landing decently to Norton's forehead. Norton bends over and McKenzie throws a couple of more, with one landing again to Norton's forehead. Norton gets McKenzie tied up again and Jim wrestles Norton to the ice.

Comments: These two were talking it up for a good 15 seconds, then finally go along the boards after the whistle is blown. Avery throws a couple of rights, with one landing to the side of Sydor's head. They get in tight and Sydor throws a right that misses and they continue to grapple. Sydor gets off a couple of more ineffective rights followed by more grappling. Avery then lands a nice uppercut followed by a couple of rights that miss. They spin around and Avery knocks Sydor off-balance and he goes down, Avery lands a right on the way down.

Comments: Aitken and Tripp squareoff in front of the Blackhawk's goal and trade two or three glancing blows each. Tripp with the right and Aitken with left. Aitken's holding off, waiting to throw a right and then bang! Aitken gets the opening and nails Tripp flush with a haymaker. Tripp drops to the ice straight away and Aitken skates striaght off to the box as Tripp needs some assistance to get up. He sits up and is bloodied and looking very groggy and is helped off the ice for repairs.

Comments: Moreau drills Visnovsky headfirst into the boards and on his next shift Laperriere challenges him and they go. Laperriere is trying to get his elbow pad off and there's one to two weak shots throwing by both and then they're broken up.

Comments: They chatted before the puck dropped and shed the gloves as soon as the puck hit the ice. Chartrand grabbed on as they tugged on each other's arms for position. Green threw a right and Chartrand threw one underneath that landed. A lot more grappling and some more nothing punches from both until Green went down off-balance. No damage done.

Comments: They dropped the gloves off the faceoff and grabbed on. Donovan threw two nothing rights to the back of Avery's head as Avery threw a right overtop that didn't connect, but sent Donovan off-balance to the ice. Avery threw in one more while they were on the ice for good measure.

Comments: They get matching minors and when they come out, Norton drills Conroy to the ice with a nice check. The whistle is blown and Oliwa and Norton bump. They shed the gloves, grab on, and start throwing. Norton connected with a right, then Oliwa threw a right overtop that connected and then one underneath that dropped Norton. Norton went to the box shaking his right hand like it was hurt.

Comments: Luke Richardson hits Sean Avery from behind and shortly after there's a scrum. On the next faceoff Tripp and Ling drop the gloves the moment the puck is dropped. Ling dives in and throws a few lefts as Tripp tries to get off some rights. Ling's first left lands nicely, and the next couple don't quite make the mark. Tripp's shots miss. Ling's moving forward and gets one hand high, one low, and then takes down Tripp bodyslam-style.

Comments: They drop em' off the draw and Brennan throws a big right sending Burnett's helmet flying and he follows it up with another big right to Burnett's forehead putting him to the ice and drawing blood. Burnett gets up and throws a couple of weak rights which miss before Brennan tosses him back to the ice.

Comments: Avery crushes Ward after the whistle and Severson issues the challenge. They quickly drop the gloves and grab on, but Ward tried to jump in too. They break free of him and Avery throws multiple rights to Severson who slips to the ice and the linesmen come in. Other Penalties: Samuel Pahlsson received a slashing.

Comments: This started as the Avery-Severson fight was going on. Ward wanted no part of this as he tried his best not to throw a punch and to keep Norton from throwing any either. Norton attempted two rights over top that hit helmet and then when he slung Ward to the ice, he punched him on top of his head for good measure.

Comments: A few seconds off the first faceoff, they decide to drop the gloves. They square off for a bit, grab on and Veilleux throws lands a couple of rights. Avery then comes back with a right and gets Veilleux's helmet off while they start to grapple. They wrestle for a bit and Avery's jersey comes up. He's able to pull himself out and then throws a right body shot and they exchange shots that each hit back of shoulder. They're in a slow spin and Avery throws a few more rights that hit shoulder. Veilleux's off-balance and Avery throws a shot that helps them go down, Avery on top.

Comments: This fight started when Cowan finished a check in the Ducks zone with the game already in hand. Ward skated after him and asked him to go and they drop the gloves. Ward throws some rights, nothing looked to land, and Cowan starts throwing lefts, with one connecting on Ward, so Ward holds on and Cowan throws a few more lefts to end the fight.

Comments: Derek Armstrong runs over Cujo and Jamie Rivers gets into his face after the whistle. They grab on, Rivers throws a few short rights, seems to be in control, then Armstrong throws a big bomb that looked to connect. Rivers pauses a second to shake it off, then throws a big bomb of his own that seemed to stun or discourage Armstrong. It finished with them each wrestling the other to the ice. Other Penalties: Rivers received a high sticking; Armstrong a goalie interference.

Comments: May is running around crushing Kings. Cowan responds and takes a run at Canuck rookie Ryan Kesler. May comes right after Cowan and they sqaure off behind the play. They come together and start chucking em. Cowan lands a good one early, May misses with some haymakers, and Cowan throws a few of his own. May comes on and lands some big time haymakers at the end, it looked like one good shot helped Cowan go off-balance.

Comments: It starts with Ferguson giving Cowan a slash. Cowan turns around and jaws at Ferguson. Ferguson waits no time is shedding the gloves. Ferguson starts with rights and Cowan with lefts. Cowan seems to be landing and Ferguson are missing high. Cowan then seems to right him self and lands a couple of nice lefts knocking Ferguson off-balance and taking him down.

Comments: By the time the camera gets there, Gelinas is on his knees and Avery feeds him a few right uppercuts. He switches to the left and throws a few more, and the linsemen jump in.

Comments: They meet by the benches as Simon steps in for a teammate. Simon pulls the helmet off right at the beginning. Cowan tries a left, but Simon grazes a left along the back of his head. Another attempt falls short. Cowan is hunched over now and Simon lands five lefts to the back of the head and Cowan looked like he threw a few as well. Simon tries an uppercut. Cowan straightens up and throws a left. Simon lands two decent lefts. Cowan misses a left, loses his balance, and falls over. Other Penalties: Cowan received a charging.
