Most of the damage was inflicted on the back of Ballard's uniform.

Where was the instigator penalty, jammed out with a cross check call. Clean hit as well. I don't give wins to any loser that can't take a clean hit. Draw.

There was a time in hockey when yo can throw a low hip check and nobody would think twice about it ...
Different now days, the hit was a little late and a little too close to the knees.
I would have done the same as Carlo in this situation.

Ballard wasn't expecting the fight because it was a clean hit that Colaiacovo over-reacted to!

I dont see it....it wasn't a low hit, he caught him in thigh. How else are you supposed throw a hip check? NHL is going down the same path as NFL where you can't even sneeze without getting fined or suspended. "Ballard has been talked to from the league"
