It was draw! Stortini landed a couple so did Hordichuk! :D

Posted by johncar04 on March 16, 2010 at 12:48 PM

Hordichuk is a punk, he never squares up and drops the gloves at the same time, he just jumps in to get as many shots in as he can while the other guy stil has his stick and gloves in his hands. Cheap and weak.

i watched it a few times and think it was close....they both landed a two nice punches.....Hordi didn't land with the right but i believe a nice short left was the punch that landed on Stortint's button and opened him up....Zack also landed on his 2nd and 4th punches (he threw 5) his best was his 4th punch that landed at the 13 second mark...it was tough to see but a short quick punch that connected nicely as Hordi straitened up that appeared to land on the chin and swing the fight this was pretty close bout both boys got in a couple of good punches

Posted by Santokh_Gill on October 27, 2009 at 02:15 PM

Close fight , but ..you have take a punch as well as give one to call your self a fighter , so i'dd give stortini the edge on this one for that one.

Posted by rugby on October 26, 2009 at 09:33 AM

Called it a draw. As Dave Brown commented, I too have been very unimpressed with Hordi since his arrival in Vancouver. Granted he usually is giving up a few inches, but always seems to be manhandled and never controls the fight (even this one a bit). For comparison Thornton in Bos is pretty much the same size and fares much better. As for woosh - since when is a guy 6' 4" and over 220 considered a middleweight? Yeah there is a couple of monsters out there , but Stortini is a heavyweight, just not very good at it. Kind of makes what Domi used to do all the more impressive considering he was only around 5'9".

Was Stortini actually throwing punches? I like it.

Posted by huskie on October 26, 2009 at 09:03 AM

almost gave it toHordi for the damage

Posted by piney on October 27, 2009 at 06:48 PM

To win you gotta stay on your skates. no such thing as the blood factor. didn't seem to slow Stortini down. draw

Posted by Bear72 on October 27, 2009 at 09:35 AM

LOSS Cowan.....excuse me i mean Snortini...give kudos to both though untill they fell

Posted by Poop Jack Pappy on October 26, 2009 at 06:41 PM

At least Stortini was trying to throw some punches.

Posted by thebigbea55 on October 26, 2009 at 07:13 PM

hard to say who win.. if rypien can take on stortini that means canucks won't need hordichuk then..

Posted by Jellyczar on October 31, 2009 at 06:24 PM

who cares ....two idiots

Posted by SABREHATRED on October 26, 2009 at 12:31 PM

Stortini is still paying his dues, in liquid form!!!!

Posted by lovejoy on October 26, 2009 at 03:50 AM

Hordi's fights are always entertaining but his style is uneffective. he often falls. if he kept his ballance against Stortini he could win easy. but still edge to him . you're bleeding = you've lost.

Posted by Ripper20 on October 27, 2009 at 02:36 PM

I'm not sure, but I'm guessing the first bomb Hordy threw did the damage. Not too many punches landing flush. Slight edge to Darcy.

Posted by SCSBB5 on October 26, 2009 at 01:27 AM

Stortini leaking everywhere

Posted by Dave Brown HOF on October 26, 2009 at 02:12 AM

Was I watching the same fight as some of you? Win Stortini? What? I think the fact that mcb789 with his tired act, saying that Stortini won, is enough to tell the rest of the normal population that Hordichuk won that fight. He was the only guy that landed any significant punches at all, and Stortini had to go to the room for repairs. He didn't start bleeding from falling to the ice! Give me a break. How in the hell does that happen when he fell on top of Hordichuk after Hordi lost his balance...again? And there was already blood on the ice by that time. I'm a huge Canuck fan but I also call em like I see em and I've been disappointed in Hordi since we signed him but I guess he's better than what we had before when that idiot Nonis was the GM. Maybe I was expecting too much but he swings wildly, loses his balance quite often and doesn't seem to have the wheels that a smaller guy should have. On the other hand, he's a great teamate and it takes huge balls to be as small as he is and still stand in there with the leagues heavyweights when you're constantly giving up 3-6 inches and 20-50 pounds. Rumour has it that the Canucks are interested in acquiring a legit HW and if that happens and if Rypien can get/stay healthy, it could be the end of Hordi's days in Vancouver.

Posted by dr00r00 on October 26, 2009 at 11:24 PM

Hordy got this one. Not a highlight reel from either guy but Hordy drew blood with the 1st 2 he threw.

Posted by shuckthefarks on October 26, 2009 at 03:32 PM

Looked pretty even but I will give it to Hordi on nothing more than the blood factor. Hordi used to clearly dominate Stortini and Shelley when he was with the Preds. Not so any more. Like I said before, his opponents are probably legitimately mad when he fights now with a thug (O'Brien) and chump (Burrows) team like the Canucks.

Posted by woodape on October 26, 2009 at 11:02 PM

Good scrap. Stortini took one on the beak. Hordichuk was throwing bombs. Stortini will never be short on dance partners because he has been beaten so many times.

Posted by GrrrHockey.com on October 28, 2009 at 09:42 AM

Darcy needed this one badly and baby was he aggressive exploding with the first bombs and also "broke" the nose on Stortini... Stortini did survive though and took over the fight in the end and did well. Still win for Hordi!

Posted by bobbylou64 on October 26, 2009 at 02:00 AM

Stortini bleeding everywhere. Definitely a win for Hordichuk.

Posted by kryon24 on October 26, 2009 at 09:55 PM

Wow Storweenie was chucking them. Nice job even though Darc was throwing them with murderous intentions. It was close but Darcy landed the better shots even though he ended up on the bottom. Nice job guys.

Haven't seen a Greaser get busted up that bad since Ponyboy got dropped in the movie Outsiders!!!!! WEEEE'VE GOT RUSTY PIPES

Posted by ScappyScot33 on November 29, 2009 at 12:03 PM

Slight edge to Hordichuk. Looks like he nailed Storts on the nose on the first one. Tough to fight when your eyes are watering. Both landed a couple.

Posted by jbaktai on October 26, 2009 at 01:16 PM

Not a bad fight, i agree with that guy with the comment about stortini throwin punches, about damn time.

Posted by millerdvr on October 26, 2009 at 12:42 AM

Stortini with another stellar performance !! I liked him better when he was called AARON VOROS !!!! My wifes pads are less bloody that storpeeny !

Posted by DARCY T on November 11, 2009 at 01:21 PM

win stortini

Easy win for Stortini

Posted by Sukoshi84 on October 27, 2009 at 05:29 PM

"you bleed= you lost" is hands down the most idiotic statement on THIS fight vote...... you Sir a fuking poon nugget

Posted by Big Little Tank on November 06, 2009 at 01:09 PM

Hordichuk the winner? Those voters must have been KO'd by Knuckles Nilan or Joey Kocur. Try the hammer fist KO by Stortini. Man, the internet must be damaging the vision of it's recipiants. It's not always about the amount of punches, but also who is tougher. If this was the case, you might as well discredit Domi, Probie and McSorely. They took as much as they gave, but rarely lost fights. Sometimes it's all about the knockdown.

Posted by Truk on October 26, 2009 at 01:19 PM

Edge Stortini. Both tough dudes with Hordi usually on top. At one time OHL's most feared vs. WHL's toughest could go either way guys. Canucks fans talking trash about their boy just because Storts had a good fight against him is weak. Hordichuk would hand that Rypien a beating and can bang with the big boys all day long. Let's see what Ripper can do against a McGrattan, parros, or the like?! Didn't think so.

Posted by mcb789 on October 25, 2009 at 10:55 PM

stortini wins yet another fight. stortini connected with alot of great punches to hordichuk face.

what is up with Huggy Bear, he is becoming like a real hockey player... Win Huggy

Posted by Juha82 on October 26, 2009 at 01:48 PM

edge Stortini

Posted by woosh on October 26, 2009 at 01:13 AM

Stortini wins another and once again he's willing to throw the punches, for the not so intelligent or so-called experts, even when Stortini was dubbed Huggy Bear, if you look at who he was at least attempting to stand up to and consider the weight difference in most of those fights, he at least did what few other middle wieghts would do against the heavy wieghts which is at least would never not turtle

Posted by bruins rule on October 26, 2009 at 07:58 AM

decent fight between these 2 guys.

Posted by laclipper12 on October 28, 2009 at 03:41 PM

Blood doesn't always equal win just like first guy to fall doesn't always equal loss. Both guys landed a couple. Draw

Posted by mashya on October 26, 2009 at 09:28 PM

i watched this 4 times and think hordi only, maybe landed the very first punch so how does hordi get votes for a win? really whos voting for him? i could maybe see a draw, but a win?? stortinis bloody cause he smacked his face on the ice on his last punch, which he shouldn't have thrown edge stortini for definitely landing some punches

Posted by gongshowallday on November 24, 2009 at 03:40 PM

Storts keeps throwing even though he is minus one nose. Gotta give him marks for courage. And he gets the take down. Did Hordichuk have his eyes closed? Lots of bombs thrown... one landed... kinda lucky if you ask me. BTW... the jersey jab at 12 sec is the one that opened him up. Ironically, this was his only technical punch.

Posted by staceyb on October 26, 2009 at 01:24 PM

I give it to Stortini because I've never given it to Stortini. I'm liberated!

good fight

Posted by balravens13 on October 27, 2009 at 10:48 PM

The best Stortini fight i've seen. Which leads me to believe that Hordichuk is losing it. So all in all it was a good fight.

Posted by chad420 on October 28, 2009 at 11:39 PM

draw.................theres no way hordi won that..2nd post...do not be bias

Posted by Rex from MN on October 27, 2009 at 02:37 PM

I saw Hordi attack, which is how to beat a bigger man, and classic Hordi, but he gave his best, which Stortini withstood, and when Storts got going, Hordi went down. Draw, because Hordi fell before he very well might have lost. He used to be better. Didn't we all...

Posted by muskokadangler on October 26, 2009 at 03:32 PM

Stop with the bleeding you lost horse shit!!!! Only a pantie waste wimp thinks and says that crap!!! Go beat your pet cause you don't no squat about fightin!!!!

Posted by Oil Can Henry on October 26, 2009 at 02:07 PM

This was lame, but I gave it to Hordichuk.

Posted by BritishRedWing on October 29, 2009 at 08:52 PM

Edge to Hordichuk. The camera work was awful, hard to really see.

Posted by Rick16 on October 26, 2009 at 09:44 PM

hordichuk landed a couple of early ones which the camera didnt do a great job of capturing and i think thats when stortini got bloodied up a bit... edge to hordichuk

Posted by canuckmike on December 11, 2009 at 11:17 AM

Decision for drawing blood :P

Posted by Richterfan on October 26, 2009 at 10:23 PM

Both of these guys were throwing to hurt thier opponent. Hordichuk has looked bad this year and wanted a good show. Stortini is starting to show signs that he can punch and not just grapple. Win Hordichuk by the slightest of margins.

Posted by claire alexande on October 26, 2009 at 06:48 PM

darcy the douche loses yet another one, failing to land even a single blow. How the mighty have fallen. How the hell do you lose to Stortini and consider yourself anything but a poser and a joke? Enjoy the job and the paycheque while it lasts (not for long, for Horridpuke's sake) because you are done Nuck Nightingale.

Posted by tomales2 on October 26, 2009 at 09:06 AM

"YOU'RE BLEEDING=YOU'VE LOST" Absurd. Have you, or any other poster that makes that remark, ever been in a fight? Blood does not necessarily equate to a win. Draw

Posted by marinermoose38 on October 25, 2009 at 11:06 PM

Stortini with the surprising win over Hordi in this one. Punch count 3-0 in favour of Zack. And FYI, Stortini gets cut as he falls hard to the ice because Hordi didn't land a single punch.
