Why is there a fight after every decent hit? You guys are killing hockey. If your guy gets hit, why don't you go hit one of their guys...instead of starting some lame fight. You bastards are killing momentum with each stupid fight. How about this...challenge and fight the guy at the next whistle if you want to. Bull**** ******* don't want bodychecking anymore? Wha wha!

Good hit. Zeiler wasn't a willing combatant. Easy win for O'Brien.

Zeiler obviously didn want to go. Another stupid move after clean hit. Isn't time to change the rules?

Zeiler actually tried to hide in O'Brien's jersey!!! The rarely used jersey-bottom grab, as opposed to the shoulder or elbow grab, rarely ends well. Who voted for Zeiler in this one??? Let me guess...brymaster1.

I can't say that I like the fights after a clean hit either but then again, I'm on this site because I like fights period. I just don't think guys should HAVE to fight just because they throw a good clean hit. In saying that, I think that O'brien challenged Zeiler because it was O'brien who gave Hordi that suicide pass that got him hammered in the first place. Easy win for O'brien. Pretty safe to say that Zeiler was overmatched. I think that Zeiler has the wrong jersey on. He should have one of those ugly Flaming C jerseys on, that the Calgirlsarehairy Flamers wear, since they can't win a fight either. Actually that's not entirely true, I heard that one of the Flamers might have earned a draw against a Swedish girls bantam house league team in the preseason.

Give Zeiler credit, challenged by the much bigger O'Brien. How long do the linesman have to stand on the side as O'B continued to reign punch after punch to Zeiler's backside? Thank God Zeiler went to the ice as O'B was have pummeled him.

Would have better if Zeiler wouldn't have pussed out!

Like a criminal win for OŽBrian, absolute domination. OŽBrian thankfully realize that also and stopped landing too heavy pounds. Referee were the slowest ones in this episode.

You guys gotta quit complaining about fights after hits, zeiler can skate there on his feet and get away he doesn't have to stay there and fight, Obrien wasnt going to jump him from behind, It was a good hit but if your gonna stand up for your star players you stand up for all your team. I love fights in hockey and would rather see these kind off fights then 2 useless heavyweights that cant even play on a regular shift go for no apparent reason, the nhl just needs to mandate that everybody has to play a minimum amount of time per game and that would eliminate the useless guys and keep good tough guys around like rypien and other decent fourth line players and then we will see fights for the right reason. I doubt hordi will even play again this year, he's so valuable to the team along with all other heavyweights that don't play come playff time.

What is going on in the NHL? If this crap keeps up, they will end up banning fighting and ruining the NHL (they're close now). That was a clean hit and plus it was on Whorechuck and we all know what he can do so there was no reason for Obeywan kanobey to jump in. If Hordi wanted to take care of that situation then he was ready as he popped right back up. Should've given Obey 2 for idiocy. He still gets the win as it looked like Daviv vs Goliath. Clean hit should not lead to a fight.

I see no problem with fights after hits especially near the end of the year...imo it builds the bond between players going into the playoffs which is good.

A "pro" of fights after hits would be: a player who only hits and often cheaphits, may think twice knowing he will have to answer for that style of check. ie. the Gauthiers, the Otts etc.

While I will agree that O'Brien jumped in to Hordichuk's aid it was actually Zeiler who dropped the gloves first. Ok it does look like Zeiler realized soon afterwards that he was in over his head but he could've skated away if he wanted to and sucked O'Brien into a penalty.

As far as I'm concerned both players honoured the code.

O'brien stuck up for his teammate and Zeiler dropped his gloves to defend his actions.

While that hit was clean, I think it was important that someone stepped in and let Zeiler know that he can't throw his weight around all night- otherwise we would have continued to create havoc on the Canucks and changed the momentum of the game.

If we're going to start to get picky on how fights start on a hockey fight webpage then I'd like to mention I'd rather see fights like this where players stick up for their teammates and/or need to send a message to the other team, over the scripted fights that start after the face-off.

Surprising that Zeiler threw the gloves off first, but then really wanted nothing to do with it. Edge to SOB, no question.

Kind of like when Iginla was cruising behind the "nucks net on Thursday looking to be tough, but when Rypien showed up, Iggy said "not me, no trouble here, can I go now?"
