Win Lucic!.. Lucic should grow a set of balls and fight someone tough like Godard! Results would be different!

easy beat down for the bigger lucic

Posted by Munchezuma on December 31, 2008 at 11:44 AM

Nice work by Lucic, and props to Wallace for going for it and making it a good go.

Posted by upyours on December 31, 2008 at 09:38 AM

Lucic is such a punk. I am so sick hearing excuses from the "Looch" lovers about how good or tough he is. He is the biggest "picker" in the league. he will only fight guys he knows he should beat and only when he wants too. Eric Godard didn't dress due to injury, so Lucic goes after a guy 25 lbs lighter than him at the end of a game while up by three goals. Wallace has a grand total of 2 PIMs with the Pens and 12 PIMs in the minors, yet he still bloodied Lucic. He doesn't pull this crap with Godadrd around ,though he would NEVER drop 'em wit EG. let's hear from his followers and explain him picking a fight here but not fighting BGL because a) coach said not to b) Bruins were ahead so no right time c) Bruins were behind so not right time d) too early in game e)too late in game...and on and on Punk. Plain and simple

Posted by donkeymonk178 on December 31, 2008 at 03:33 PM

nothing but respect for wallace taking on a bigger man like that. called it a draw because of the way lucic started the whole thing and for being a punk starting a fight with a smaller guy.

Posted by RoboSmash on December 31, 2008 at 04:44 AM

Actually Lucic has has taken his licks just like every other usually dominant fighter. Just youTube John Erskine breaking his nose and literally beating him into submission or Tim Gleason judo throwing him into center-ice. No one can win them all. Also, Luc started it by swating Wallace in the head. Funny how he's so much more eager to get it started with guys 20 lbs lighter than established heavy weights.

Posted by tiburon4 on December 31, 2008 at 07:40 PM

Good scrap: draw.

Posted by dogace on December 31, 2008 at 10:29 AM

i like lucic, but if he does not drop them with godard or bissonette thursday then his reputation is going to get real bad! wallace bumped him but lucic punched him in the head and challenged him, godard would easily beat him..i'd like to see thornton and godard. pens better get tough..good job wallace

Posted by bruiseyoureye on December 30, 2008 at 11:27 PM

wallace got pummeled.....but wallace has heart...ill give him that.....too bad godard is hurt....godard would have given that boy lucic a big time ass whoopin

Posted by rangerblueblood on December 31, 2008 at 01:14 AM

We should all be grateful that we didn't get the Bruins announcers calling this fight

Posted by no123one on November 20, 2009 at 02:06 AM

Lucic seems to fight a lot of Americans, and beats them all up like sissies.

Posted by Bigmurf8758 on January 01, 2009 at 05:20 PM

obvious win for Lucic, but he dropped a little in my books trying to pick a fight with a guy a lot smaller than him with less experience on that note Tim Wallace has risen in mine, the pens jus keep finding players like this, last year TK now Tim Wallace. I dont see where some of these people are saying Wallace picked the fight, i saw Lucic push Wallace a couple of times, then give a jab in the face

Posted by nsbruins on January 01, 2009 at 12:58 PM

sounds like there are still a few mad habs fans here.

Posted by 93FF on December 31, 2008 at 07:47 AM

Avoiding the heavyweights, is this a pattern ????? Lucic is good however he refuses to go with the big boys

Posted by Rantavahti on December 31, 2014 at 04:17 AM

Lucic wins clearly but I feel sorry for the guy. Clearly he doesn't believe in himself even though he has potential. Fear of losing taking advantage of a guy, who picks his spots this much. Somebody should show him old tapes of players like Wendell Clark who backed down from nobody and even challenged the big boys from time to time...

Posted by paddyd on December 31, 2008 at 10:26 AM

That was a good effort by Wallace. He is definately out of Lucic league but aquitted himself VERY well. The W to Lucic.

Posted by Gunslinger on December 31, 2008 at 07:53 AM

Wallace shows well but not well enough as Lucic takes another one. Can't wait for the Habs fans to start whining about BGL again. Yep, I hear them now. And for the last time, Lucic is not an enforcer, so why should he fight heavies? He is a power forward! Get over it people!

Posted by brazos on December 31, 2008 at 04:51 PM

Win to Lucic. One comment about the reviewers of the fights posted on this site. It has turned in to less of a review of the fights into a "I hate so-in-so" and the vocabulary of most is somewhat lacking. IN short too many of the people making comments want to complain about what someone else posted and rarely give a decent review. If you want to complain, find another forum, if you want to review a fight do so with an open mind and don't be a hater or a homer.

Posted by nycbob on January 01, 2009 at 01:01 PM

once again lucic fighting a noboby. biggest coward in the league.

Posted by powerball on December 31, 2008 at 08:01 PM

i guess lucic figured that goddard was out with an injury. payback will be tomorrow. at least one penguin has heart.,

Posted by swirvin on December 30, 2008 at 11:28 PM

hey hal29, if you've got to type up THAT much of a responce to defend lucic, even you must know that he spot-picked another LOL

Posted by adambomb13 on December 31, 2008 at 10:33 AM

Luchick once again finding someone not in the legitimate tuff guys category. Until he takes on BGL, Orr, Fritz, Godard or someone of equal badness, I have to rate him as a total beeyotch !

Posted by boldbilly on December 31, 2008 at 01:19 PM

Dear Bruin fans, are you all dilusional ? People are not Bruin bashing, we are cowardly, pick your dance partner bashing! I guess you have to be a Bruin fan to not recognize this. Lucic is a good hockey player so why is he allowed to fight ONLY people he can beat , but not anybody of significance? You can just as easy sprain a shoulder fighting a little guy. 1) He beat Komisarek that way, hard to fight properly when your shoulder is done. But he was a so called hero there! 2 ) He is getting a reputation as a spot picker around the league and you will see ( Bruin Fans ) some one will call him out and calm him down. 3) Last year he had more fights than Thornton so what exactly is he than if not . ALSO THORNTON DUCKS NOBODY .......LUCIC.... see B G L verdict................PU$$Y

Posted by ghjkfdhgfd on December 30, 2008 at 11:33 PM

props to wallace

Posted by berto99 on December 31, 2008 at 08:22 AM

* I really dont understand what you are talking about?! what heavyweight what weight difference?! if you click on the names of both guys here on this site they both have same weight...205 pounds. So saying that it was heavyweight on middle weight fight is really stupid. I am not Bruins fan and definately not Lucic's fan,but when I see subjective opinions really far from reality I just have feling to say that... 205 is middleweight for me -heavyweight starts somewhere at 220... if you want Lucic fight guys like Brashear who weights according official nhl.com site 234 pounds which is almost 30 pounds more than Lucic's weight you are far from being objective...

Posted by mindphaser on December 31, 2008 at 10:43 AM

1. Lucic is 220 lbs., meaning HE IS A HEAVYWEIGHT........Wallace on the other hand is about 200. 2. To call Milan Lucic an exceptional hockey player is funny, he's an average, at best. 3. Knowing his background, I'm not suprised he's bullying smaller players and avoiding ones his size. 4. In my book. all props go to Wallace......while no match for a serbian thug, he didn't even think about backing off.

Posted by Big_Goon on December 31, 2008 at 12:37 PM

Lucic dominated as he should have given the size difference. I have to say I agree with Cid. With the salary cap the days of the pure goons are over for teams competing for the Cup. Having a full line up of competent hockey players is now more important than hired gunslingers. Lucic is a well rounded, large player who is more important to his team on the ice rather than in the penalty box. I'm tired of the <insert player> is afraid of <insert player> BS talk . They say the same thing about Brashear who has fought everyone, defeated them all (including BGL) and suddenly has no heart. Players have to pick their spots and not put their team down a man.

Posted by magnas on December 31, 2008 at 04:30 AM

Last years Lucic was tko by Gleason and pummeled by Ivanans he' s a good player for sure and godd fighter too But i ll like to see versus big man

Posted by Dell on December 31, 2008 at 04:33 PM

Wallace was never in it....homer announcers again!

Posted by Helmut on January 01, 2009 at 11:09 AM

Lucic fight Goddard or Laraque or whatever goon? Have any of you ever played hockey? Or are you just haters? No I wouldn't want Lucic fighting them goons. Until last week he was on the first line you morons. The B's should find some steroid fueled monster in the minors to entertain other teams no talent goons.

Posted by Dave Brown was the Baddest on December 31, 2008 at 01:17 AM

Yo BattleAss, your boy got sh*itkicked. Anything to say? I know, you'll probably just bust on Philly. That's all you know how to do......

Posted by dwcca on December 31, 2008 at 06:54 AM

another example of lucic avoiding the big guys goin after a fair bit smaller guy and with out watching this game i am sure eric godard gave lucic a chance to go with him am i sure just like every other time anyone his size or a guy who can really chuck knuckles lucic probably headed to the bench.

Posted by gershy101 on December 31, 2008 at 08:01 AM

Good fight. Good sportsmanship. Lucic with the win but gotta give it up for Wallace who gave all he could muster.

Posted by JETTA KNIGHT on December 31, 2008 at 12:23 PM

major props for dumping the lid and taking the challenge. Lucic kinda worked him, but Wallace held on the whole time. good bout.

Posted by tattooedkingpin on December 31, 2008 at 12:44 PM

Good fight by wallace, but Lucic gets the W

Posted by 7gr1 on December 31, 2008 at 04:56 AM

Lucic is one of the biggest beauties in the league. The guy throws haymakers every time he drops 'em and wins most. He can score too. No question a win for Lucic.

Posted by BROWN - KOCUR on December 31, 2008 at 02:54 PM

Lothing like homer announcers saying how great you're doing as you're getting hammered. Win Lucic.

Posted by bruiser11 on December 31, 2008 at 01:43 PM

wallace got mad game..

Posted by NYRangers30 on December 30, 2008 at 11:33 PM

Wallace did better then i thought he wuld to props to him Lucic still get the W though

Posted by blackgoldfan on December 31, 2008 at 11:02 AM

wallace did well for himself. he lost but managed to put up a resonable amount of resistance. on that note lucic with an easy "W".

Posted by spiderj on December 31, 2008 at 01:07 AM

Wallace got a couple good rocks in there despite being out muscled. Lucic is just a goon. When he picks on someone that can really fight, he will be sorry. Or maybe he will be too afraid to do that.

Posted by pinchy on December 31, 2008 at 10:59 AM

All u guys crying about lucic taking on a much smaller guy should look at the tale of the tape..wallace 6'1 207lbs to lucic 6'4 220lbs , really not much of advantage, as for Godard taking out Lucic, maybe so but I think u guys are alittle jealous of Lucic and his overall skill, if Wallace wasn't looking for a fight he should'nt have challenged Lucic earlier....

Posted by niftyweave on December 30, 2008 at 11:44 PM

Wallace is lucky his head is still on his face. And if Godard plays Thursday night then Lucic probably won't fight him.....why? because Godard is a complete piece of crap hockey player who would LOVE to take Lucic off the ice for five minutes but Lucic is too smart for that goon BS.

Posted by hal29 on December 31, 2008 at 12:28 PM

well wallace should of never of came out and call on lucic.yeah i know some of you are going to say lucic started by throwing a shove or to,but if you notice wallace came out bumped then lucic was talking to him.wallace excepted the challange i give him credit for that but man he bit off more then he could chew don't get me wrong he was throwing maybe almost landing one and he is a wild man a little like carcillo.next people will say lucic picked on a smaller guy.well domi was a small guy and beat up 98% of the guys so size don't matter.who else would go with?gill, cant fight his way out water.orpik come he had trouble beaten lupol.third your going to say lucic took on a non-fighter.well maybe in the nhl but in the ahl wallace had crediblity,he has beaten smolenak who has beaten some big boys in the nhl.so no need for exscuses from lucic or bruin haters.big win from lucic with some serious bombs that landed i would say a good 5-6 heavy bombs. great boutwallace showed alot of heart.domination lucic.these commintators or d-bags saying wallace stood up to lucic and looch was cut on the mouth i seen the fight about a dozen times and where the hell is the cut on lucic's mouth, what the hell is that all about.wallace didn't even land a punch.tough game kid though i'll give him that.magnas your an idiot, yeah he lost to erskine din't get tko thats a joke and he with ivanans watch the fiht you idiot.he faught brookbank that was a draw,he faught baulton hat was a draw,he faught tarnasky and guess he destroyed him.give the kid a break he will take on anyone when the time is right.oh and by the way if any body has a clue and seen the story on looch.he has a disease in his spine which cause him to have curviture in his back so he is only 6'3 and he came out and even said that maybe when he is in his early 20's he might be 220+ but he is about 215-217.haters on this sight need to get lost.its a long season and many more competitors.i don't see people complaining when godard, boogy, orr and all the monsters in the league take on the boll's,carcillo's,cote's and all the other guys that are 6'1 and under.all those monsters are 6'3 to what 6'6+ but you will hate on lucic.lucic has faught guys bigger than him.when looch faught erskine he was recovering from a broken nose but he still took the invite and can't see how people say he got destroyed by ivanans take another look you stupid bitches.wendel17 your a moron.umm i think looch will take on anyone,he doesn't back down i'm realy getting sick of the looch haters your sounding more and more ike idiots.and if you look at wallace's record in the ahl he has three fight majors so that would equal 15 minutes you idiot and look who he has faught.he beat smolenak and he has beaten up some heavies pretty good this year you ass monkey's we will see about thursday hopefully godard dresses

lucic made wallace his ragdoll

Posted by FastEddy11 on January 01, 2009 at 07:32 PM

Good effort by Wallace, dude can take a punch. Easy decision for Lucic.

Posted by KillaBees3317 on December 31, 2008 at 10:10 AM

We've got Thornton to handle the heavyweights... why would we want Lucic (who actually offers something on offense) getting hurt fighting someone who has nothing to lose? all the naysayers obviously are not Bruins fans and really don't know anything about hockey.

Posted by followthecode on December 31, 2008 at 12:21 AM

Love to see both men follow the code and lose the buckets. Lucic won, but it wasn't dominating.

Posted by MajorGroove on January 01, 2009 at 04:51 AM

How many pages of comments can we get in this insignificant fight???.......Wallace took some bombs and waited for more...Lucic with a clear "W" in this one but Wallace showed some major league grit.

Posted by ETHREE on January 03, 2009 at 10:13 AM

The two of the leagues best fighters (Not Wallace) Lucic and Carcillo these guys are the most entertaining to watch, I'm not too sure what Wallace was thinking but he hung in there I'll give him that. Lucic with the win.

Posted by 13rocks on December 31, 2008 at 08:45 AM

How is this big guy v little guy ? There is only 14 lbs and about 4 inches between them.

Posted by mejjr on January 01, 2009 at 10:25 PM

All you Lucic haters - Wallace had a hold of his stick and was clearly trying to draw a p*s*y penalty. Lucic has talent and should not attempt to battle goons like Godard that would be driving beer trucks if not for the NHL. Remember, Joe Thornton used to throw down, now he is only one of the best players in the league.

Posted by darnelldevilsee on January 19, 2009 at 05:39 PM

Credit to both, first Wallace for removing his helmet because of faceshield, then Lucic for removing his to start even.

Posted by Stinelli on December 31, 2008 at 11:40 AM

Great fight. Lucic obviously wins, but Wallace has some huge balls.

Posted by pattyd on December 30, 2008 at 11:39 PM

props to wallace to step up and drop the gloves in a fight he knew he had no chance in. tough kid though. can't wait for the pathetic habs fans to vote for wallace...its only a matter of time!!! domination by the 20 year old man-child

Posted by joeye4 on December 31, 2008 at 09:12 AM

Solid win for Lucic.

Posted by Lee77 on December 31, 2008 at 07:36 AM

Total beatdown by Lucic....... how can Looch fight Goddard when he's not even dressed for the game ? ..... The Pens looked terrible last night... Who voted for Wallace ... ?

Posted by coreyviking on January 01, 2009 at 03:47 PM

Battle ax need to get his specs cleaned. First of all Wallace went after Lucic(bad move). Second Lucic is smart enough not to do what bgl, boogie, shelley do he scores goals and is way more valuable on the ice then in the bin. good luck to ya then.

Posted by pmarz1 on January 02, 2009 at 10:08 AM

Love how all the little gils in here whine about Lucic not fighting the heavyweights and how he picks his own fights.....since when is he a heavyweight? He fights when it is appropriate, i.e. when is won't hurt his team you bunch of morons, and continues to be a force on his line. Show me any of your heavyweights that can do that........

Posted by siouxfan1 on December 31, 2008 at 12:39 AM

One of the better fights and I give the win to Lucic. Give Wallace credit for hanging in there and taking off his helmet before the fight. For that a lone I have a lot of respect for Wallace.

Posted by mikebflorida on December 31, 2008 at 09:08 AM

Total beatdown win for Lucic. Wallace showed some sack but Milan was just to much for him. It's about time people just shut their holes about Lucic fighting enforcers like Godard or Laraque. You're stupid, stop saying it! He's NOT an enforcer.

Posted by chl37 on December 31, 2008 at 07:54 AM

win lucic, but the kid wallace impressed. willingly dropped his visor before the fight, took on a legit fighter, and just wouldn't quit even after taking some good shots to the noggin. good to see for a change instead of visor fights which is all too common today.

Posted by dcmac on December 31, 2008 at 01:42 PM

Wallace get respect but gets hammered. Quite frankly I think Lucic let him off the hook after that first solid right.

Posted by SirYohans on January 01, 2009 at 09:46 PM

Lucic just too much here. Wallace hung in there well and was chuckin 'em. Pretty good fight.

Posted by tpr1960 on January 01, 2009 at 11:27 AM

What ? Who , Wallace ? He got completely destroyed !!!!!!!! Penguin homers your team is still a bunch of pussies , and are sinking faster than the titanic . And Crosby is still the biggest wimp in the league .

Posted by Joe Mack on December 31, 2008 at 09:14 AM

This was an obvious win for Lucic but Jesus, Wallace chose a tough customer for his first fight in the NHL. Lucic gets the W but Wallace in no way takes a loss here. I'm looking forward to seeing more from this kid.

Posted by oilersfansylvan on December 31, 2008 at 01:35 PM

Win for Milan...BUT... Gotta love that Wallace, not a scraper tosses the lid and with 3 min left puts his face on the line and stands in there tossing, NOT hugging.....Good Work and nice heart.....

Posted by qmchugh on December 31, 2008 at 04:48 PM

Wow Wallace can take a punch, and a bunch of them he did.

Posted by bill buckner on December 31, 2008 at 07:12 PM

easy win for lucic but last time he took on heavyweight he got his face broken. now he just fights guys smaller. no cam neely for sure !!

Posted by b.t.wilson on December 31, 2008 at 12:44 AM

I don't know how people can not like Lucic. If you look at it from just a pure hockey fight perspective, damnit he is entertaining and tough. Wallace however just became one of my favourite 3 players I think. Poor guy. Can't believe he stayed off his arse. (I don't like it).

Posted by wildonefan on January 03, 2009 at 04:40 PM

Wallace the smaller of the two trying to get somthing going for his team.. kudos to him.. But he got pummled in a big way..

Posted by Maxwerm on December 31, 2008 at 04:33 PM

BattleAxe13 - Who dropped first? That's right, Wallace. He asked for it and Lucic obliged. Next time you shoot your mouth off, have some facts to back it up. He WILL fight Goddard, Brashear, and BGL and I promise you it won't be the one sided turtle-fest you think it's going to be. He's the real deal. Face it. Lucic with the easy win. Props to Wallace for taking his beating like a man.

obvious win for lucic....i have to give it to wallace tho he took a f*ckin beaten and he stood there and didnt go down...lucic is a tuff customer but i do have to say tho im gettin tired of lucic fightin mediocore people...i know all the bruins lawyers are gonna get on here and argue sayin "o well hes a first line player, u dont want him gettin hurt, u dont want him in the box instead of the ice for 5 min,hes more than a goon" which is fine but u need to start steppin ur game up and takin on some real heavies if u want real respect..ur 6'4" 230, maybe a little on the smaller side of the heavyweight division but still a heavywieght none the less

I actually felt a little sorry for Wallace after the first couple of hits... He should've known better than go toe to toe with Lucic.

Posted by Jim02351 on January 07, 2009 at 09:37 AM

Watch Lucic fight and you see the wisdom of Cam Neeley. Neeley's taught Lucic not just how to win a fight, but more important, when to be involved in a fight.

Posted by bunkerman on January 01, 2009 at 01:03 AM

I agree with some of the other post. Lucic backs away from heavyweights and always goes after smaller guys. George Laraque last year begged Lucic to fight, Lucic backed down. Later in the same game though he fought Jarko Ruutu. This season Laraque wanted Lucic and Lucic cowarded away and went after Komisarek. Eric Goddard earlier this season called Lucic out and Lucic backed away as Goddard was calling him a name that is used for a baby cat. Mitch Fritz called him out and wanted to go and true to form Lucic soiled himself and then went after Witt. Look at who this guy fights and I'm not impressed. In fact Lucic is setting himself up to get sucker punched and I hope it happens. Then maybe he will act like a man. Props to Wallace he's what a man is.

Posted by BigBadBsRBack on January 01, 2009 at 08:58 PM

Lucic doesn't generally fight goons because it costs his team - Lucic is a dominating forward and it makes no sense for him to fight a Godard or Laracque...that's Shawn Thornton's job and he does it well. Man for man, the Bruins are once again the toughest overall team in the league...don't forget guys like Cahara, Hnidy, Ward, and Wideman - you don't see them lose many fights either. They're all good players though, which is why the Bruins are at the top of the league. Wallace totally challenged Lucic and Lucic obliged because hius team was winning 5-2 with 4 minutes left. The besty part about Milan Lucic is that he knows when to go and when not to based on game situation. Lopsided win for Lucic...again.

Posted by fiskewarrior33 on April 14, 2009 at 12:04 PM

Wallace gave his best effort. Lucic is just too good at throwign the hands.

Posted by pvdrummer2000 on February 08, 2013 at 07:19 PM

I didn't see Wallace connect, but obviously he did, as Lucic had a bloody lip To me however Lucic clearly dominated the fight.

WIN LUCIC.. i am not a lucic hater and i don't blame him for not going w/ H/Ws for 2 reasons. 1. it's not a fair exchange to lose his skill for a H/W 2. the last 2 times he fought a H/W he got his arse beat (ivannans & erksine) my question is has he fought any of the better M/Ws like neil, asham, carcillo, vandermeer, bieska or even malone? i don't mean that sarcastically either...the only decent M/W i've seen him fight was eager and eager busted him open...i am curious to see how he would fair against some of the M/Ws mentioned...look at guys like tocchet, shanny & clark and the all fought H/Ws and top M/Ws even aa more current player like iginla has a more impressive fight card.

Posted by BattleAxe13 on December 31, 2008 at 09:31 AM

Once again Lucic steps up and goes after a guy significantly smaller than himself. When is this "next Cam Neely" going to grow a pair and take on some good heavies? Lucic gets the win, I thought he was going to kill Wallace but Tim hung in there and made a decent fight of it. Props to him for courage, something Lucic knows little about.

Posted by Dampland on January 01, 2009 at 11:30 AM

Props to Wallace for standing in there, but Lucic destroyed him.

Posted by mike gradzewicz on December 31, 2008 at 09:12 AM

lucic fought 2 true heavyweights last year both broke his nose, since then, he hasn't fought a guy either over 169lbs or who has had more then 2 nhl fights, mark mywords you beantown bully little punkass guido, what come around goes around

Posted by bruinsfanmatt on December 31, 2008 at 10:58 AM

Lucic did not instigate that for u fags that say he only fights smaller combatents. if you saw the game, wallace shoved him with an elbow before the faceoff. lucic doesnt back down to anyone. M btw I certainly give wallace credit for dumping the lid w/ the visor fisrt

Posted by laineo21 on December 31, 2008 at 03:58 PM

Bold Billy... Look at Mike Modano's comments on Lucic before saying he has a reputation of being a spot picker around the leauge. The reputation is coming from HOMERS like you posting on a board.

Posted by marclebrun on December 31, 2008 at 06:37 AM

I Love Lucic but he's gonna be starting to fight the big guys now.

Posted by jlmcgui on January 01, 2009 at 01:22 PM

Lucic wins. Again, Milan fights when the game was NOT in jeopardy, and he WILL NOT hurt his team. I'm sure he would have given Godard a GO had he been in the lineup.

Posted by JCeltic on January 13, 2009 at 04:28 PM

Kudos to Wallace... But Lucic with the obvious Win. Fuck the haters.

Posted by mbell699 on December 31, 2008 at 09:17 AM

Say what you want about Lucic not fighting the heavyweights.....but please understand that Godard didn't play last night because of a foot injury. So, before calling out Lucic, read the box score or watch the game and don't make an ignorant comment.

Posted by tonydomi1 on December 31, 2008 at 09:10 AM

Win Lucic. Nice job by an undersized Wallace to hang in there and deliver some good rights to the mush of Lucic. Good point by Wendell17Clark to point out that Lucic will not scrap with the big heavy's in the league. Give him a couple years and he will be the best in the league.

Posted by oaktoad on January 03, 2009 at 12:59 PM

Lucic with a decisive win but props to Wallace (welcome to the NHL) Wallace isn't much smaller than Luc though i don't know why the announcers make the 'out of his league' claim.

Posted by gdameo on December 31, 2008 at 10:28 AM

lol at people who said "significantly smaller". C'mon, Wallace is only 13 lbs and 3 inches smaller. That is NOT significantly. Yes, Wallace is out of his class because he isn't a great fighter like Lucic but the size is not that big difference. Do the math next time please. However, when I found out that Pens sit their fighters (bizz and godard) I knew they were going to be pushed around and lose. Props to Wallace to challenge him and take the helmet off though.

Posted by millwright1966 on December 30, 2008 at 11:52 PM

win Lucic....give tons of credit to Wallace to going for it

Posted by bruins34 on January 01, 2009 at 07:07 PM

Nice stand up by Wallace but Lucic clearly got the better of him. Not sure what Pens fans are talking about questioning Lucic's courage. The guy can fight, but he's trying to make a career keeping his mitts on. Trading blows with guys who get 3 shifts per game isn't a good way to make a career or $$$ if you have the skills to do more.

Posted by nighthawk walt on December 30, 2008 at 11:47 PM

this is the way all fights should start-helmets off!lucic with total domination of wallace.looked like he was throwing around a rag doll.

Posted by clydefrog on December 31, 2008 at 09:28 AM

did anyone see the fans yelling at Lucic as he exited...lol...having Lucic on our team is like taking the head cheerleader to prom...everyone else is jealous

Posted by BAAAAANNERMAAAN on December 31, 2008 at 10:46 AM

nice try buddy......stick to smaller guys in the future.........even though lucic kinda picks his spots

Posted by bruins rule on December 31, 2008 at 08:10 AM

another win for lucic.bruins are on fire with 9 wins in a row.nice to see both guys take off their helmets before the fight.

Posted by bltlord on December 31, 2008 at 03:14 PM

fuckin announcers trying to make lucic look like andre the giant, thier talking like wallace won, he survived, BIG difference. and BattleAxe13, lucic is gonna fight anybody body he wants!

Posted by McCunn8585 on December 31, 2008 at 12:38 AM

Excellent tilt. Lucic with the easy win.... Again. What is with all the haters? I'm a Habs fan but this kid can thro'em. Enough talk about him being a first-line player, who cares? This is still a forum about hockeyfights...

Posted by Hendo67 on December 31, 2008 at 12:54 AM

Lucic destroyed him, I'm sick of people ragging on Looch. He's a top line player, he didn't pick the fight, Wallace was grabbing his stick and wouldn't let go, so Lucic said "hell, lets do it".

Posted by DAVYDAWG1969 on December 31, 2008 at 09:12 AM

DWCCA you should punch yourself! you're an idiot...godard wasn't even suited up and wallace came out and slammed into Lucic and wanted to go. If you dont know the facts you should'nt be running your yap... Two thumbs up to Wallace! we should call him Braveheart...he challenged and dropped the helmet, started throwing and didn't stop till it was over good job Tim. lots of respect for you...Lucic dominated in this spirited fight LOOCH with the W! who is the homer that voted for wallace, by homer I meant HAB fan, jealousy is a sickness...get well soon bitches

Posted by Rabid Wombat on December 30, 2008 at 11:17 PM

Lucic didn't go looking for this one, but he was more than happy to go. This one was all looch. He landed a couple big bombs late when he got the elbow pad off. I'm sure all the Habs fans and Lucic haters are ready to start posting

Posted by Looch on December 31, 2008 at 01:42 AM

LUCIC STILL HASNT LOST A FIGHT IN THE NHL!

Posted by JustWatchIt on January 01, 2009 at 06:22 PM

Wonder if we'll ever see the day when ML takes on someone bigger/tougher...like Wallace did. I doubt if the day will come...no guts. Where's the theory of..big scorer, fist line player, sitting in the box for 5 minutes of valuable ice time. ha ha What a joke...give ML a Habs uniform!

Posted by toddyg on January 01, 2009 at 12:47 AM

Luch beat him down!

Posted by sully16 on December 31, 2008 at 08:15 PM

Wallace is a retard for even trying. Wallace is a little girl. if he wants to make a name for himself he chose the wrong person to go after. The 13th is approaching quickly. I hope "BGL" has been training in the boxing gym, or been going to learn to skate because he is about to get a beating from looch. Once again wallace gets no credit for this fight. He lost and looked like a mary while doing it. Lucic had every reason for giving wallace a tune up.

Posted by habsdom on January 01, 2009 at 09:00 PM

lucic with the win still waiting for him to fight some of the leagues tougher guys but wallace held his own

Posted by wrtobin on January 01, 2009 at 12:44 PM

Wallace beat the crap out of Lucic fist.

Posted by stephen05401 on December 31, 2008 at 10:44 AM

one of the best fights i've seen in a while. Wallace hung in there longer than a lot of other guys would have.

Posted by OldTimeHockey33 on December 31, 2008 at 11:46 AM

I wasn't a user until today when I saw how people were talking about the way Lucic picked his fights. For all you who DIDN'T watch the game last night, Godard was inactive last night with a foot injury. So all you who just jump to conclusions about who Lucic is fighting, why don't you actually watch the game and see how the situation comes about. Lucic didn't pick this fight there, Wallace did. Watch the games and not just the fight when you are calling someone out. This doesn't just go for Lucic but all fights and fighters.

Posted by seantyree on December 31, 2008 at 01:02 PM

As a friend of Tim's Family I was happy to see him do pretty well in his first NHL fight. Tim drew blood and didn't take any crap. Good job.

Posted by [email protected] on December 31, 2008 at 01:52 PM

The Looch put a decent beatin on that minor league, punk. But I give the kid credit for having the nads to fight him. I hope he enjoys the speed bumps Milan put on his forehead.

Posted by bobbydigital33 on January 05, 2009 at 06:53 PM

I love how Wallace takes his helmet off even though he's giving up 3 inches and 20 lbs.

Posted by Kevin from Bost on February 26, 2009 at 10:07 AM

I am a Big Time B's Fan, My veins pump Black and Gold, I have to say that all you guys saying Lu-check needs to start fighting higher graded fighters like the Brashears and Laraques of the NHL Would You?? Milan is still a Rookie type NHLer,he is still trying to find himself,he is a ferocious Body Checker and has a scoring touch , not great but good, and as far as backing down from these type of guys, he is with a smirk, not scared but a little worried, these guys are tough and thats why they are there,Lu-Check is there because he is a rounded player and trying to get better, and sometimes fights, give Lu-Check a few more years and a little more experience and them two Brashear and Larouque will be Fans of Lu-Check.

Posted by Bruinsfan93 on October 31, 2011 at 02:34 AM

I might give the ref the win for the knee on wallace at the end

Posted by Bruins29 on December 31, 2008 at 09:46 AM

Lucic destroyed Wallace. Absolutely ruined him. Pittsburgh sucks.

Lucic worked him like a clown. The legend that is known as Milan Lucic grows.

Posted by BsFAn4LIF on December 31, 2008 at 09:50 PM

Looch made Wallace look like a ragdoll. But props to wallace for dropping the gloves with Looch and taking off the visor. Also, people are asking when he's going to drop them with a true heavyweight, they arnt necessarily heavyweights but he did drop with some decent fighters (EX. Jared Boll, Raitis Ivanans, and Mark Bell is the same size as him, still he manages to rack up some wins) AND thank you Cid! I couldnt have said it better myself. And Boldbilly, are you ok? Komisareks shoulder was messed BECAUSE of the fight with Lucic, he wasnt fighting with a messed shoulder, know ur facts Oh yeah, and only one announcer worse than jack edwards is the Pittsburgh guy

Posted by cityofchamps on December 31, 2008 at 11:38 AM

All you Lucic haters make me laugh, your probably all habs fans, who haven,t had a legitimate tough guy since John Ferguson. Erskine never broke Lucic’s face he broke his nose in a game against the flyers when he face planted on the edge fo the boards in fact if you watch the fight it was pretty close until the end and it happened 2 weeks before the Philly game which means he didn’t re-break it like some of you dumb-asses think. What exactly is a legitimate tough guy.... He fought Ivanans on the Kings and didn’t get his ass kicked I suppose he doesn’t count. As far as Laraque goes there is no reason for Lucic to fight him and that doesn’t make him a coward. Laraque is a stand up guy who I’m sure didn’t want to follow him around the ice . Which is why he probably won’t last in Montreal. So all you Lucic haters should have some cheese with your wine and keep watching the diving all over the ice to draw a penalty flying Frenchman in Montreal. Remember Mike Ribeiro.

Posted by phastphil on December 31, 2008 at 04:11 PM

looch really winging some bombs. wallace was lucky only a couple of those shots landed squarely. got to give wallace credit, though. also, nice switch to the left hand by lucic. to all you haters, m.l. will go with the heavies. he already has. if e.g. plays tomorrow night and asks, they'll go. have to believe former pro and genuine badass like behn wilson would admit to being impressed by lucic. behn?

Posted by Scoops35 on December 31, 2008 at 09:49 AM

Hey battleaxe13 did you watch the game? Wallace challenged Lucic FYI and when Wallace took his helmet off Lucic then took his helmet off. So it was good sportsmanship. Wallace wanted a piece of him . Their team was getting embarrassed with just over 3 minutes left. pay attention

Posted by aces50 on December 31, 2008 at 06:44 AM

What a great first NHL fight for Wallace. Lucic may have won that one, but keep your eye on Tim. You have to give credit to Wallace, most middlewieghts would have backed off from the bigger Lucic. One of the best fights of the year.

Posted by Cid on December 31, 2008 at 02:08 PM

Lucic with a strong showing. Mad props to wallace for showing up and having one hell of a chin. The Looch bashers are F'in hilarious... you guys are so jealous it ain't even funny. Looch bashers argument: "Rawr, me a moron... Lucic a pussy... won't fight top heavyweight contender... RAWR... He not a true heavyweight till he rolls around and hugs with the likes of Brashear and Laraque... RAWR!!" Idiots. 1. Godard wasn't dressed last night. 2. Wallace partially called on Lucic. 3. Lucic has never made claim to be a top heavyweight. 4. Lucic is a skilled player who has actual Hockey sense. 5. You are jealous you don't have him on your team. 6. The whole heavyweight vs middleweight thing is BS too when you consider the Bruin's heavyweight is actually a smaller 210lb Shawn Thornton. Weight doesn't mean anything. Wallace being 3 inches shorter and like 10lbs lighter actually means he's got more bulk. HAPPY NEW YEAR BITCHES!

Posted by radioactiverich on January 05, 2009 at 10:02 AM

Good show by Wallace, most other guys would have buckled and gave up.

Posted by lowbrow78 on December 31, 2008 at 04:27 PM

Maybe next time Lucic can fight Godard and then see how he does. He might get his chance Thursday.

Posted by TIRE TIM on January 03, 2009 at 03:07 PM

great fight win lucic he wont forget the name of wallace

Posted by ludwigrock on December 31, 2008 at 10:15 AM

Lucic dominates another foe. Wallace is a gutsy kid who wants to stick with the big club. For those of you who diss Lucic for not fighting the heavyweights, you obviously don't understand fighting in hockey. Godard is on the injured list so he wasn't playing. There's no reason for Lucic to fight LaRoque, who is an overpaid goon at 1.5 mil. He also sits more than he plays. Lucic has too much hockey skill to take a chance of breaking his hand on some cement head. When the timing is right, he will go with anyone and fare quite well.

Posted by bruinbrigade on January 04, 2009 at 04:13 AM

Battleaxe, maybe Lucic fought a smaller guy this time. But he generally fights the same size or larger (watch him smash Mike Kamisarek). Wallace picked on him and he doesnt stand down. And I watched the Erniske fight and he didnt get smashed. Yeah he went down and all but just because he lost that doesnt mean he wont fight heavyweights. Komisarek is 6'5 240 and Lucic is 6'4 220 (he's not as big as people think) Yeah, props to wallace and all but Lucic is a beast and is willing to fight any man at anytime. Lucic wins

Posted by drahcir61 on January 01, 2009 at 11:53 AM

Yes Lucic dominated the undersized Wallace but I saw the game & the Bruins were crushing the Pens. Kudos to Wallace for wanting to start *something* because the Pens didn't show much of anything all game. As for Lucic not fighting Brashear, LaRoque, or another goon ... why would he? Lucic puts up points & the Bruins need him on the ice not in the box. FYI, Lucic already has two Gordie Howe hatricks this year & he's only 20 years old.

Posted by jrw89sbk on April 12, 2009 at 12:50 AM

Lucic with another win. He is great for my fantasy team.

Posted by scrapiron wins on December 31, 2008 at 05:28 AM

Yes Lucic wins. Do you think Lucic would have fought Godard? No I did not think SO.If you want to be a heavyweight fight a HEAVYWEIGHT!

Posted by Canadiens100 on December 31, 2008 at 01:10 PM

Lucie never lost an NHL fight? I guess Eskins and Ivanitis beating the crap out of lucie doesn't count then! Lucie never backs down from a challenge to fight? I guess Laracques numerous invitations to lucie were in a language lucie didn't understand then! What a chicken crap! Always too chicken to fight players his size. Maybe laracques should ask lucie in serbian, maybe that way he will understand. Maybe laracques should just grap lucie and beat the crap out of her!

Posted by wallysy1 on December 31, 2008 at 12:53 AM

excellent

Posted by vj63 on December 31, 2008 at 03:14 AM

Lucic is perfect match between a great hockey player and a fighter..he wont fight for nothing..but if he fights he does it right. People say he still didn't take on Brashear, well, I think he didn't have an occasion.

Posted by avulsion on December 31, 2008 at 02:57 PM

Wallace got rag dolled. Full marks to Wallace for losing the visor right off and showing some heart.

Posted by 4th line on January 08, 2009 at 10:51 PM

Wallace stood up, answered the bell, points for that, but Lucic gave him a beating

Posted by bigdog2007 on December 31, 2008 at 02:45 PM

When is Mila Lucie going to fight anyone of consequence? Ever since Erskine broke his face he has fought middleweights and no names while running from the heavies....

Posted by Dafids on December 30, 2008 at 11:36 PM

Lucic tottaly dominated but you gotta give props to wallace for trying to chuck with him i am a pens fan i still think lucic will continue to duck the real heavys because he is a coward and a punk. i really hope he mans up and tries out godard next game if he is back godard will rip him apart and still have enough in the tank to take on thorton when he is done

Posted by bloodchurn on December 31, 2008 at 03:01 AM

lucic with thr win, but wallace stood in there and showed some serious toughness

Posted by J.R. Abel on December 31, 2008 at 12:16 PM

Props to Wallace, but may want to find an opponent in your weight class next time. I really didn't see the "Pummeling or domination" a lot of you Lucic fans are talking about. Most of his punches were grazing or back of the head shots. Wallace landed several as well. I hope Lucic puts some ice on his bloody mouth. W for lucic but try fighting someone closer to your size. I've seen Wallace in person. He is about 5'11, 185 lbs soaking wet, holding an anvil. Believe me his stature is a bit exaggerated on the books. He was just answering the bell from an earlier play when Lucic was F-ing with Crosby. I should add, Boston looks fantastic so far this year. San Jose vs. Boston in the finals? Wouldn't surprise me at all.

Posted by wendel17clark on December 31, 2008 at 04:25 AM

Lucic has never lost a fight in the NHL. Didn't Erskine break his face last year. Hasn't fought a heavyweight since.

Posted by Mr. Nasty on December 31, 2008 at 10:10 AM

sigh...another big Lucic fighting small guy fight. I guess he is pissed with his demotion to 3rd line.

Wallace landed nothing,......tried, yes, but beaten soundly.

Posted by DevsFan30 on December 31, 2008 at 10:25 AM

Props to Wallace. Good to see him ditch the shield and Lucic follow suit by tossing his helmet down too. The fight wasn't close though, easy win Lucic but credit Wallace for hanging in there against a guy way out of his league.

Posted by gmr133 on December 31, 2008 at 04:23 PM

Credit to Wallace for standing in there with the bigger guy and at least trying, not that Stortini hugging crap. I'm a Pens fan and this was clearly an examle of Lucic knowing how to do this a lot better.

Posted by ramses22 on January 03, 2009 at 11:04 PM

Wallace was game but Lucic gets the decision.

Posted by NewMike on December 31, 2008 at 11:31 PM

Lucic with a decisive win. I have to agree with Big Goon in that he is a top 2 line player that can do everything. Yes, he can fight, but is there really any point for him to take on the true heavies? The Bruins can't afford to have a player like Lucic taken off by a guy that plays 5-7 minutes a night - not to mention the possibilty of him sustaining an avoidable injury. They have Shawn Thornton to play that role. Expecting a developing 20 year old star, regardless of the fact that he's a big guy who's able to fight, to go out and take on a Boogaard or Laraque is pointless. Great job by Wallace against a much larger, more experienced fighter.

Posted by cdnputter on December 31, 2008 at 09:35 AM

Wallace stood in there, nice effort given the Pens were already out of it. Lucic mangled the kid though pretty sure everyone expected that, even Wallace.

Posted by CFG1787 on December 31, 2008 at 05:17 PM

Wallace showed a lot, he's trying to stay in the nhl and he fought one of the tougher guys in the league, win Lucic I wish Paul Bissonnette wasn't back in the AHL, him versus Lucic would be good

more like William Wallace (Braveheart)... kudos for showing up but got killed anyway!!

Posted by Bosoxfan3 on December 31, 2008 at 04:37 PM

Wallace reminds me of Shawn Thornton a bit in this one... out of his league sizewise, but willing to take a shot. Regardless, decision Lucic, who I think could have pressed a little harder and dominated a bit more.
