| 1pd 03:12 | Edmonton Oilers | Georges Laraque |
| With the Oilers down 1-0 early, Laraque seeks out Shelley and challenges him. Shelley hesitates, seeing his team may have a scoring chance, but when the puck is cleared from the zone, the gloves come off. They squareoff, Shelley switches to a southpaw stance. Laraque comes in first and gets the helmet off. Shelley is also jockeying for position. Laraque throws 3-4 lefts which appear to be glancing blows. Shelley throws a couple rights, which also appear to be glancing blows. Laraque loses his balance and Shelley loses his as well. Both hit the ice and this one's over. | ||
