I Tivo'd the game and my buddy was out on a meeting, so when he called I told him he needed to get over and watch the game.

After a slo-mo evaluation of the entire situation here is the play by play:

1) Grier mouths off to Hartnell
2) Hartnell mouths off back and then turns his back
3) Grier grabs Hartnell's jersey- Hartnell shrugs it off
4) Grier cross checks Hartnell in the hip protector (ont he edge of it- this jerks people around hard for those of you who have only watched but never played), then does it again across his hamstring
5) Clowe is now in Hartnell's face with gloves off
6) in comes Tootie Frootie and his stubby reach to engage clowe
7) Hartnell falls down and gets up
8) Grier gets engaged with him again at some point- proceeds to piruet a few times with him, somehow the jersey comes up-
9) Grier skips the cheap shot and pulls Hartnell's jersey as hard as he can until the loops break, then undresses the jersey
10) Hartnell unlocks and tosses his helmet, motions "come on " with his fists and skates backwards
11) Grier skates up - but half heartedly and instead wraps up with his right hand
12) they chat back and forth, Hartnell throws a few shoves
13) Grier starts holding up his left hand in the universal "hold on - lets talk about this" gesture
14) They seem to talk a bit
15) next time they are seen on camera they are only "symbolically" holding onto each other waiting for the fists to happen.

I'm a San Jose fan, I live out here, and I can say that I have seen Grier fight- my opinion was that he was trying to get Hartnell the 2nd misconduct to trigger the suspension (by the wya he rips the shirt).

Given that Clowe and Hannan each will get one, I can say that he probably was worried about adding to the power outage (2 forwards with misconducts) and may have been worried that Clowe would recieved 2 (2nd in on a fight + the fight within the last 5min)

I am sure that in retrospect he wishes he had blasted Hartnell to pieces now given that both of Hartnell's misconducts were erased.

Grier was weak, Hartnell was a good showman/actor, but neither one wanted to go.

Couldn't tell who won the fight because the video only showed Clowe and Tootoo.

Not much of a fight. Hartnell had no interest in going straight up with Grier, only seemed interested in throwing gloved punches at the beginning.

The Sharks are a bunch of babies. I was at the game, and they decide to go after Hartnell right after the fifth goal by Forsberg that put them out of reach of a win. They're a bunch of bitching babies, especially Wilson.

predglen-

You're just pissed that that the sharks won two/three fights and the preds didn't win any. Tootoo got the sh*t kicked out of him and that like b*tch deserved it. That little sh*t shouldn't be so stupid and get into something he doesn't even have a chance winning, the preds need and actual fighter who can win fights, not throw sucker puches then get made a fool of. oh and F*ck the Preds.

Hartnell had it comeing to him. That's what he gets for the cheap shot he put on Cheechoo the night before. Good job Grier!

With the other action going on, hard to really get a good idea who came out on top.

DIFFRENT ANGLES ON THE FIGHTS WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE

Did not see much here. But I sure am happy to see Doodoo get his a** kicked again.

No one won this fight as there was not a fight from what I viewed.

hartnell should've been well aware that he was gonna be gunned or after the knee-on-knee took out cheechoo

don't get to see much other than greir getting a few small punches in and pulling the jersey off so slight edge, grier

Whatever, Hartnell is a puke for that hit on Cheechoo, its a shame someone didn't pay him back properly.

I was at the game, and what you don't see is in the video is Hartnell popping Grier a few times early on. Grier got a couple long jabs in before they both quit to watch that dip$hit Clowe take out his anger on Tootoo.
Clowe also took a run @ Kariya early in the game to get the party started. PK took an elbow from him to the face, but you don't hear Trotz bitching to Wilson about that. F*ck the Sharks
