Nov 14, 1991 Detroit Red Wings Bob Probert
1pd 16:01 San Jose Sharks Link Gaetz
Comments: The two drop the gloves and tie up next to the San Jose bench. They each connect with a few rights just before Probert switches hands and lands two lefts. Probert switches back and they go toe-to-toe with rights. Gaetz switches hands and starts throwing lefts while Probert struggles to get an arm free. They grapple for a short while until Probert gets loose and throws two uppercuts that knock Gaetz's helmet off. They each throw another right and then wrestle around until the linesmen come in. Probert tries to get a right in, but the two are separated and sent to the dressing rooms.

Wow! That was awesome! You don't see fights like this very often in today's NHL. I know probert is a very good fighter, but Gaetz's i think was a little stronger and quicker with his hands. Very close though.

The officials went in too soon, too bad. that had the makings of one of the greatest fights ive seen. Draw.

An alltime great fight, between the champ and a potential future champ. Gaetz must've really stung Probert to make him go nutzoid like he did - them uppercuts Probert threw were thrown with bad, bad intentions. It would have been interesting to see these guys lock up a few times more as the years went by, but sadly it wasnt to be.

Gaetz gets the nod by landing the better early blows. Probie never seemed to get untracked.

What can you say? Dud, did you see that fight!!!! Yes a classic fight, and one that you'll remember. I call it a tie, and even my chin hurts.

Typical of so many of Preberts fights with a large amount of going toe to toe and seeing who blinks first. Love to watch Probert's best fights ~

This has to be one of my favorite fights of all time. I just remember Gaetz stating that he wanted Probert in a bad way. When the game started it was only a matter of time. I was not disappointed in the least.

For his short NHL stint, Gaetz was awfully tough.

Great fight. Linker was a tough son of a gun but Probert was the king.
