These 2 tangle just inside the blue line. As they grapple at arms length, McCarthy lets lose with a right that comes up short. McCarthy throws another right-mostly missing, but his elbow catches mostly helmet on Probie. Bob throws a right that connects, then McCarthy comes back with a right-connects flush-on the button on Probert. Bob comes back with a short right, missing. Now they're in close, but still able to throw effective punches. McCarthy connects on the Probert with another short right. McCarthy attempts a uppecut and a short right, but missing their target. They continue to grapple. McCarthy throws 2 more short right punches, hitting athe back of Proberts helmet. Now, Probie quickly postures back and comes around with right punch that connects. They get back in close. McCarthy monkeys with Probies helmet, and he is able to rip it off. From this point, there is more wrestling/grappling going on. McCarthy throws 7 right minipunches -noogies-that don't appear to cause much damage-that connect on the back of Bobs head as they continue to grapple and stay in close. Probert finally atttempts a short right, but McCarthy has a firm grip on the sleeve. Probie throws another right that carries more velocity, but the punch lands behind McCarthys head-hitting helmet. There is a little space between the fighters now. Probert attempts a right, but Sandys grip remains firm as is renders Proberts punch ineffective. Probert is now trying to free his right arm from the his sweater. McCarthy lands a left noogie to the back of Proberts melon. McCarthy throws a few more rights-with a uppercut sneaking in on Probert. They continue to wrestle to the near glass. Bob is stil trying to free his right arm, but to no avail. McCarthy throws a right that comes up short. They have each other neutralized well at this point. Now, the linesmen see an opportunity, and they break up the party. As McCarthy skates toward the bench to leave the ice, he does a little non-offensive hand gesture toward the crowd.

Both fighters got in some great shots early on-with McCarthy getting the better of Probert in this tilt -landing more big shots.

McCarthy was apparently fighting with a broken nose.

This was Proberts first game back after being off for 6 weeks.

McCarthy landed more, wa smore active. Clear win, but nothing dominant. Good fight!
