Aaron Downey vs Jody Shelley

2005-2006 Regular Season

Date / Time Away / Home Team Away / Home Player
Nov 9, 2005 St. Louis Blues Aaron Downey
3pd 09:33 Columbus Blue Jackets Jody Shelley
They drop the gloves and have a nice, long square off at center ice. Shelley spends the majority of the time trying to grab Downey's sleeve. When he finally does, Shelley lands a big right hand that drops Downey to the ice. The linesman holds Downey until he collects himself and he skates away, blood streaming from his right eye.

Stonecosy you sound like you should be on the site "Ring around the Rosy"!!!!
First off, its a fight site and thats what we do, enjoy watching a beat down ever now and then......In the spirit of sport of coarse!!!!

Second....... Downey might have already had a bad eye but........Do you honestly believe Jody Keyed in on it??????? Lmfao at you!!!!! ;)

Yeah, it looks bad, but Downey was hesitating because his right eye was already injured - have a close look. Shelley being the guy he is keyed in on Downey's eye with predictable results.

Ya know, it's great to watch these match ups in the spirit of sport and competition, but don't be too obvious about getting a thrill outta a 'beat down' cause it helps you forget or satisfy your anger...just sayin', eh Raphie?

Thats why Downey isn't in the league anymore - if your going to be a toughguy you had to win one every so often.
