Edge to Asham...talk about a throwback player.

Posted by cible on October 10, 2013 at 11:56 PM

Arron Asham showing why he's been in the league for so long while staying in the top 3 middleweight class each year. Asham ability to make his opponent reach advantage disapear his astonishing. Always finds a way to compete against larger opposition and beat guys his own size. Win Asham in a close fight!

Two ex-Flyers square off, A2 trying to wake up his near-comatose team on a disastrous west coast trip. Lot of good it did--the Rangers got spanked again.

Good tilt between two ok fighters for the draw!

Very close fight going with a draw and rating of 5 ..........you have got to love Asham and the way he brings it every game.....

DRAW

Posted by theSDauncey on October 11, 2013 at 12:38 AM

draw both did ok

Nice job by Ass-ham to stay in there and get the draw against the larger man and superior fighter. Ass-ham will probably be fighting a lot this season, as frustration will undoubtedly be a major theme in the NY Ranger 2013-14 season. They are simply not a very good good hockey club and will on the short end of a lot of lopsided scores.

maroon should have taken his own helmet off as asham...ahsam is a better fighter but maroon is much bigger and asham probably becauz of size disadvantage approached maroon more defensively...good draw

Posted by mrunohoo on October 11, 2013 at 03:13 AM

Asham reminds me of the guy who kicked my a$$ in a bar fight when I was younger. One tough Native-Canadian.

Posted by Don Berry on October 11, 2013 at 07:31 AM

Good fight! What's with the lifitng the helmet off the guy, that is strange. Just fight with it on and destroy your hands.

Posted by MeatPlow on October 11, 2013 at 10:59 PM

You have to Love AA. He tried to do the right thing and screwed up. Fighting a much larger opponent and hanging in is massive kudos. I felt it was a draw and a good scrap

Posted by sndaysnipr on October 11, 2013 at 09:44 AM

I love AA even though he's with the Rangers now. This fights a draw but kudos to AA for taking on H.weights almost every battle.

Posted by LGR72 on October 11, 2013 at 10:37 AM

More or less a draw. A size disadvantage for Asham so he did well holding his own. They both landed good shots.

Posted by slavv on October 11, 2013 at 10:48 AM

I love the lid toss by Asham! Spirited draw...each did well.

Posted by dustyknuckles on October 11, 2013 at 10:46 AM

good bout with a good congrats at the end.... glad to see asham has calmed down the non sense after a fight no more nighty night hands doesn't look good....

Posted by Hockeybrawler28 on October 11, 2013 at 09:27 PM

Great fight! Ash's one of the best middleweights, but the fight looked like a draw to me. 7

Posted by shawnrocks on October 10, 2013 at 11:22 PM

good one...like both guys........draw

Posted by pvdrummer2000 on October 14, 2013 at 12:53 AM

I like Asham, he's a decent fighter and always puts on a good show. Maroon is much bigger and got a couple of nice shots in, but I have to give the nod to AA in tis one.

Posted by srehm1 on October 11, 2013 at 10:45 AM

Two guys holding each other at arms length and not landing very much. Draw.

Posted by Ratank on October 12, 2013 at 06:39 PM

Exquisite manners. Draw.

Good tilt. Edge Asham.

Posted by travist on October 11, 2013 at 04:46 PM

gotta give this to asham, barely...

Posted by Big_Fat_Dan on October 11, 2013 at 01:23 AM

Asham just shades it, he needs to learn about the lid toss thou.

Posted by chad420 on October 11, 2013 at 11:16 AM

win Double A in close one

Posted by ironbar44 on October 11, 2013 at 10:27 AM

ASHAM returning to form

Posted by yngblonde1 on October 26, 2013 at 11:48 AM

If Asham were 6' 3" and 230 pounds few people in hockey would go toe to toe with him..The guy fights players 4-6" taller and up to 40+ pounds heavier and still has good showings..Give the edge to the little guy on this fight..

Posted by GreatMurray on October 11, 2013 at 02:07 PM

ASHAM BEATS THE KID...MAROON HAS TO LEARN TO USE HIS SIZE A LOT BETTER.

Posted by hokaheyhockey on October 11, 2013 at 01:04 AM

Ash appeared to land more punches and landed them both with his left and his right. No small achievement against a guy 4 inches taller and 35 pounds heavier. Even though Maroon didn't doff the lid until Ash tossed it, Ash still had the class to give Maroon a good fight tap in the end.

Posted by Diablo69 on October 14, 2013 at 08:21 PM

Double A gets the edge in this 1, He shows alot of heart for a midlle weight.

Posted by FistofFury on February 15, 2014 at 10:42 PM

Good win for Asham.

Posted by aj99ny on October 10, 2013 at 11:03 PM

Asham did pretty well against the big guy. 2 good fights in a row for Asham, hope the rangers leave him in the lineup. Kinda crappy that Maroon didn't take off his own helmet.

Posted by braindog1017 on October 11, 2013 at 01:20 AM

Good, close fight. I feel like Asham landed more, so he gets the nod.

Posted by Bruins170 on January 08, 2014 at 09:54 PM

Looked like Maroon had the edge with his jabs.

Posted by bajo39 on October 11, 2013 at 10:27 AM

Hello Mr Maroon, where have you been? Shows like a seasoned pro, minus the poor form of hanging his opponent out to dry on the bucket toss, in a bout with a resurgent Asham. Well done, looking forward to more.

Posted by EdNo on October 11, 2013 at 03:00 PM

How does ANYONE pick Asham as the winner here??! I'm not sure he land ONE quality shot during this fight... draw, probably ( maybe even a win for the" worst color ever")

Posted by kkdowning on October 11, 2013 at 10:58 AM

When the highlight of the Rangers evening is a draw in the fight, that is not a good night

Posted by SouthPaw017 on October 11, 2013 at 04:28 AM

Love Asham, just like Prust, no fear and usually giving up size..... Asham holds his own here against the bigger Maroon "5"..... Have to go draw.

Posted by snowave on October 11, 2013 at 01:20 AM

excited to see Maroon in the lineup. Hated to see Asham get the extra 2, but it's not Maroon's fault... I'm sure he would have abliged to take the lid off if he had the chance. draw.

Posted by Behn Wilson on October 11, 2013 at 07:28 AM

The brain cramp helmet toss rule strikes again as "Ultra" and Asham overcome an awkward start and deliver a decent positional bout

Posted by fernben8 on October 11, 2013 at 03:22 AM

Dumb of Asham or smart of Maroon to have Arron take his hemet off for him ? Looks like Asham drew the extra lid penalty for taking his off...should of talked Maroon into tossing his own to neutralize the penalty.... Uneventful Draw

Posted by MassHole on October 10, 2013 at 11:28 PM

bad lid toss for asham they'll figure it out after awhile.

Posted by knnite on October 10, 2013 at 11:02 PM

Did Anaheim get the pp because Asham took his own helmet off versus Maroon having Asham also knock his off?

Posted by farmer365 on October 11, 2013 at 12:22 AM

Another win for Asham, you gotta note the lack of respect from Maroon for not taking his helmet off even though Asham tossed his. If Maroon wasn't wearing a visor Asham wouldn't have tossed his, he expected Maroon to show some class and then calls Asham to knock his off his head so he doesn't take the minor penalty and gets the powerplay,,,poor sportsmanship here.
