Lucic was voted toughest player in the league last year by the players. Not only that, he's combined for nearly 60 goals in the last 2 seasons and is a first liner on an impact team. Most of the guys he goes toe to toe with will be lucky to compile 60 goals in their entire careers. You can only hate this guy if you secretly want him on your team. Or if you're a Canuck or Hab and take D in the B.

Carkner is a good fighter, and an honest player. Respect to him. Would have been a good bout if it wasn't for that haymaker. These two went toe to toe last year for a solid draw. Expect them to go again in the future for some close fights.

Cant wait to hear what all the Lucic haters have to say about this one.

Bouli you remind me of the kid I used to stick in a locker for a good laugh. Lucic doesn't back down from any one. Plus he will put 25-30 in the back of thr net. You must be a habs fan. Cluless, gutless, classless. You must be one fthe stiffs who voted Carkner for the win. Stick to figure skating. Bruins roll 4 lines deep, with 6 defensemen whi could play for any team. Stop being a doucebag

I'm a Lucic fan and I like Carkner as well...
If I'm not mistaken, Carkner is a natural right hander,
So why he tried to go with his left hand is beyond me..especially against a guy like Lucic,
I like Lucic's sportsmanship of his Win...
Straight to the box and no showboating. Well done Milan.

Lucic dropped him and gets the win (although Carkner popped right back up). Next up for Lucic -- John Scott!!!

It was a good punch no doubt about it. KD not a TKO. Carkner popped back up. Win for Lucic. Lucic should not fight in this spot. They have other guys that can fight. They have a much better chance of winning it all with Lucic playing rather than being on the DL. He didn't gain much of an edge for his team by fighting in this spot, and the risk for the team is too great.

Lucic with a nasty right and a clear win. But I can't wait to hear from Montreal fans about how he wouldn't fight Laraque five years ago. Carkner is still a tough dude and he dropped him. Give him credit.

Oh, and by the way Lucic was 19 when Laraque challenged him. Not too many kids coming straight out of the WHL and tangling with Big Georges.

Looch with the TKO...Hell Yeah

Disappointing result for a potentially fantastic fight! People continue to underestimate Lucic's fighting ability. Although he'll forever be remembered for refusing to fight Laraque on numerous occasions (complete cowardice) he is one of the best in the league. I'm looking forward to Lucic vs Orr when the Leafs and Bruins lock horns. Stay tuned folks, stay tuned!

Lucid picks up win number two over Matt Carkner in convincing fashion. They had a great bout last year. I don't think we've seen the last of this rivalry. This was Lucic's 41st fighting major...not bad for one of Boston's biggest offensive threats.

All you Boston fans are always so over the top - quit pretending like Lucic is the HW champ for this. Lucic caught him with a good shot and dropped him - good fight and a hockey KO. That's it.

And what's with calling Carkner a bitch? Maybe he's got a glass jaw but he's a tough guy who fights an open style and he'll always be in my good books for dropping that giant ***** on the Rangers in the playoffs last year.
