In an attempt to catch up...what SedinFan said.

An el dumbo elbow to Smitty's noggin on the part of Ben Holmstrom, who likely will take a seat for a couple of games only minutes into his call-up from Adirondack. Neil settled the score in hardly an even matchup.

The Flyers are looking terrible heading into the playoffs. Are they that much dependent on Chris Pronger?

nothing like getting suspended and beat up in your first NHL game

A stupid 'Dumb Ass' hit by Holmstrom....
Definitely not the most impressive way to break into the league.
Looking forward for some redemption next season...
A rare props for Neil !

Hopefully Smith was okay from that. Neil takes care of business but doesn't get a lot done here. Oh instigator rule, you are a bane to this game... Neil and a 4. That last replay near the end, around 2:00 looked like a very bad elbow. I will let the NHL sort it out, I will let the NHL sort it out, I will let the NHL sort it out.

Neil wins with a series of misses....I think....again, great post-fight production work. Can't get enough of those captivating shots of Cory Clouston....

Holmes only get's him in the noggin a little it because syvret him checked smith right before Holmes was gonna hit him so his head dropped down. it did look like holmes was gonna catch him with the elbow anyways but I'm not sure he would have connected had syvret not got him a split second before hand.
Either way as it turned out it's still intent and dirty and shouldn't happen. but the outcome of his elbow hitting dude in the jaw is from the syvret hip check. probably why no penalty was called for elbowing and why there's no suspension. There's literally no way for Holmstrom to avoid hitting him since syvret hip checked him towards holstrom as well. tough break.

Elbow? What elbow? I saw a pretty good open ice check by Holmstrom and Neil retaliating for basically, nothing. If anything, Holmstrom's elbow caught Smith on the hip! That said, the rookie handled himself and answered the bell. Got his butt kicked, but answered the bell.

For a change Neil isn't the one performing the cheap shot.As much as I dislike Neil it was nice he stepped up for his teammate.

Yet another domination by a Senator.
