Fayne ''feigns'' being a fighter,

which results in a thorough spanking,

at the hands of Thorburn.

Fayne played in college (Providence) and has zero fights in his first season as a pro--half at Albany, half with the Devils. So this was a total mismatch for Thorburn, who should be fighting the likes of Clarkson or Colin White. Good for the Devils--they finally won one for Jacques Lemaire. Even Kovy scored!

I don't know how Thorburn ended up with his keyster on the ice, but he thought it was Fayne's fault that he got there that way. On his way up, Thorburn crosschecks the kid. I guess when you got crosschecked a few time that your instinct is to fight kicks in.Good on the kid for giving it a shot. He looked like he was going backwards before anything landed. I think Fayne may have landed a weak shot. Thorburn should have gotten something extra for the crosscheck. I think a hair cut is in order as well.

fayne did NOT have time to lose the lid, so hopefully he isn't trashed for that. he answered the bell but was soundly pummelled by a very tough thorburn. that was a dominating 6 in my opinion.

Fayne was letting his left foot drag along slower than the rest of him so he could could turn back quickly if posession changed and Thorburn apparantly thought he was doing it to trip him deliberately. Obviously Thorburn with the win. But was fighting a nobody for nothing.

Thorburn shows his experience with a beatdown of young Fayne. Thorburn comes up pumping rights catching Fayne on the chin and head. Fayne throws a wild right before balance brings him down.
