Close but Kane wins it

Posted by 25yearsNoCup on January 29, 2022 at 08:08 AM

Kane has always used the lumber like an asshole. Swings it hard on people. No one seemed to mention that he got suspended for pushing the ref in preseason but watch it again he slashes the shit out of the refs leg

Posted by Scooby kinght on January 29, 2022 at 08:08 AM

It's was good fight

Posted by Jellyczar on January 29, 2022 at 08:08 AM

DOn't like the fact that Reaves continually starts the fight as he gets on the ice with someone who has been on for a shift already .... a la McQuaid fight, too

Posted by Jimmy28 on January 29, 2022 at 08:08 AM

Did someone say this was one of the best fights they’ve seen in a long time? Really? The bar must be pretty low or you’ve lived under a rock.

Posted by mo_town on January 29, 2022 at 08:08 AM

Nice fight between 2 good fighters, but the edge to Reaves

Posted by Rigo Galo on January 29, 2022 at 08:08 AM

They a good fighter and both tough costumer.

Posted by sjfreedman on January 29, 2022 at 08:08 AM

Kane did not stay on his feet long enough for Reaves to hit him a few more times

Posted by Dreadnok41 on January 29, 2022 at 08:08 AM

Nice to see another spirited bout like this, too rare in the playoffs! Also nice to not hear any of Reaves idiotic commentary about animals in parts of the world they don't live in. Good fair fight between two willing guys with a lot of action (maybe not a lot of connection, but at least they were swinging for the fences). Thought Kane was out of his mind, Reaves is probably the heavyweight champ at the moment, but glad they went for it with vigor.

Posted by Capital Punishment on January 29, 2022 at 08:08 AM

It was a draw, Kane stood his ground, even though Reaves is supposed to be the greatest fighter of the NHL.

Posted by slavv on January 29, 2022 at 08:08 AM

Sloppy and chaotic, but domination by Reaves....

Posted by DuderInk666 on January 29, 2022 at 08:08 AM

Lot of missed punches. Think they were both looking for that star seeing hammer punch and kept flying them off. Thought saw Kane get a good shot in there early, and Reeves, a few solid snookers in his flail of 4-5. Very close, I'll give it to Reeves, but man, Kane stood right up and didnt get whacked like so many do with Reeves. (Come on, we all know Reeves is pretty much setting the bar currently.) Kane flying off the handle though after being separated showed me, he too must ave felt he got beat. Reeves ft(close)w.

Posted by The_Penguins on January 29, 2022 at 08:08 AM

Kane taking on more than he can handle again as Reaves destroys him Kane was trying to play octopus

Posted by TheShipwreck1 on January 29, 2022 at 08:08 AM

One of the best fights I've seen in a while.

Posted by The Glamour on January 29, 2022 at 08:08 AM

Holy cow people! What is with the whining. Props to Clown Town below for saying how it is. Reaves is the NHL's champ and Kane can throw em. Kane is not in Reaves weight class and did succeeded in making it entertaining. Reaves all day.

Posted by kranium62 on January 29, 2022 at 08:08 AM

Two players dropped the gloves, whatever their role is or point totals are, is meaningless. Reaves is not a dirty player. Pittsburgh getting rid of Reaves a few years back remains a total mystery, the guy has tremendous value by leading the league in hits, not to mention he is arguably the #1 heavy in the league. Kane's performance in that game was horrible, but kudos to him for at least dropping them with a much bigger man. As far as who won-lost, this is hard because Reaves pretty much rag-dolls everyone he fights, so it might look like he's destroying his opponent even though he's not landing blows. He definitely didn't hurt Kane, he missed a lot, but I'll give him slight win. I hope these guys are really friends.

Watching it on replay several times, Kane got two very solid jabs in that messed up Reaves face, then Reaves got in three shots - one that grazed the visor and two to the helmet. Pretty much a draw, but Kane gets the win considering his primary focus is scoring goals while Reaves only use is in fights.

Posted by Fargocase on January 29, 2022 at 08:08 AM

Reeves easily won but no KO, Kane still talking chit. Love to see Reaves get hold of him again but Kane will yap and run

Posted by PenguinsFan on January 29, 2022 at 08:08 AM

Tbh Reaves is a fighter and considering Kane doesn’t do it very much he made this fight entertaining to watch. I’m calling this fight a draw and 10/10 to both players even though it was a life or death type of fight.

Posted by danvilleshark on January 29, 2022 at 08:08 AM

These guys are friends. I was at the game in San Jose towards the end of the regular season. Kane has just returned to playing after his wife miscarriage and Reaves went way out of his way to show support.

Posted by BoldBillysMom on January 29, 2022 at 08:08 AM

That a boy Kane! I don’t give a FUCK what he’s done recently (lot of comments on it - don’t know about it). It takes a sack to drop em with the baddest MF in the league. Draw all day. Reeves didn’t land shit.

Posted by Spinner55 on January 29, 2022 at 08:08 AM

Reaves...hopefully, a rematch when both are fresh.

Posted by bigmike53 on January 29, 2022 at 08:08 AM

Lots of missed punches from both guys and a good showing from Kane. I slowed the fight down and watched it several times. Reaves picks up the Narrow win when the dust settles.

Posted by dgeary109 on January 29, 2022 at 08:08 AM

Another pathetic performance by Kane.

Posted by doktorpigskin on January 29, 2022 at 08:08 AM

I agree 100% with "ClownTown". Stats/goals has no place here. Also, being here in Vegas and watching all the Knights games in person or TV .. Reeves is NOT a dirty player. Doesn't do any of the "cowardly crap that Kane does every game.

Posted by Vinsanity on January 29, 2022 at 08:08 AM

I couldn't click fast enough to start watching this fight... the antics at the end earned this bout an extra point (8). I pray there is a next time with these two double dragons landing punches and some bloodshed.

Posted by nait on January 29, 2022 at 08:08 AM

9/30/19 Kane gets a chance for a rematch. Nope goes for a non fighter. Btch moves

Posted by hal29 on January 29, 2022 at 08:08 AM

Nothing but a draw here. Both threw and both missed. Insane to give Reaves a clear win and insane to give kane a clear. Really insane to give this over a 5.

Posted by Beeeerman on January 29, 2022 at 08:08 AM

I think Kane landed more punches. Even fight.

Posted by Sportaholic on January 29, 2022 at 08:08 AM

The true winner of this fight? The PA announcer... For playing "Baby Shark" as Kane was escorted off the ice.

Posted by ClownTown on January 29, 2022 at 08:08 AM

Fuck you if you bring up stats on this site in an attempt to discredit a fighter. The biggest tell-tale signs that a person doesn't have a clue and doesn't understand the culture are 1.) They think Byfuglien is a legit fighter and 2.) They bring up stats on a hockey fight site. GTFO if you don't get it. This is about the fights. Period. I gave Reaves the slight edge, but Kane did better than almost anyone would. Kane is the toughest guy on the Sharks hands down. Reaves would annihilate Haley

Posted by thew2589 on January 29, 2022 at 08:08 AM

Good fight! This was built up! I think Kane landed a couple clean ones, reeves missed on his swings then took Kane down, give the edge to Kane for landing some. You could see some swelling on reeves face after the fight

Posted by Hilaker on January 29, 2022 at 08:08 AM

Good fight. Need more of these spirited fights. They obviously meant business. Gave the edge to Reaves. This is a good mean spirited series. I hope it continues. Live. To see someone level Jumbo Joe. He seems to be in a nasty mood for a change. Looking forward to the next game. Win Reaves in a nice 6 or 7 rated bout.

Posted by IceIceKurgan on January 29, 2022 at 08:08 AM

Jumbo Joe: It was tough seeing Ryan go down like that against a thirty goal scorer but maybe better luck next time. Lol

Posted by Double Nickels on January 29, 2022 at 08:08 AM

First watch, I thought Reaves, second draw, third Kane. A case could be made any which way. I’ll split the difference, but I get the votes all around.

Posted by titanium on January 29, 2022 at 08:08 AM

Cheap repeated cross checks by a rested reaves. Kane answered landed a good punch and Reaves used his size to out muscle at the end. Reaves should talk a little less after his fights and show a little moe respect to opponents. He has a strength advantage since the league frowns upon old school hockey. :(

Posted by cdubya23 on January 29, 2022 at 08:08 AM

Reaves is the best fighter in the NHL and he wins again here. Props to Kane for dropping them in a spot where he knew he was outclassed. It’s not how many you win, it’s how many you show up for.

Posted by omorales on January 29, 2022 at 08:08 AM

Draw

Posted by Orr Fourever on January 29, 2022 at 08:08 AM

Evander hung in there. So I'll go draw.

Posted by GreatMurray on January 29, 2022 at 08:08 AM

Reaves will always be too much for Kane but Kane gets serious credit for manning up because the rest of is team wanted nothing to do with either of the Vegas tough guys...Reaves or Engelland. These two guys are great examples to the soft teams like Detroit, Pittsburgh and Tampa that you still need enforcer types to create time and space for the skilled players and so that the whole teams knows that someone has their backs. Wilson was a one man wrecking crew for the Caps in the playoffs last season.

Posted by tpr1960 on January 29, 2022 at 08:08 AM

Okay, Reaves is big, outweighs him by 50 pounds, plays in an NHL where there are almost zero fighters left, he can't play a lick so he starts a fight, threw a few nothing much and Kane didn't back down, in fact his last 2 opponents were Chara and Reaves, I like to call this a draw. How many goals did Reaves score this year ? Just wondering.

Posted by RootBeer on January 29, 2022 at 08:08 AM

Lets hope for a round 2 :)

Posted by jerry s on January 29, 2022 at 08:08 AM

liked the fight Kane is a tough kid but not in Reaves class still didn't back away or turtle

Posted by cmclaughlin83 on January 29, 2022 at 08:08 AM

Bit of a letdown, expected a lot more out of these two

Posted by leon stickle on January 29, 2022 at 08:08 AM

W-Reaves.

Posted by Kevin Peeples on January 29, 2022 at 08:08 AM

Reaves was Just to much for Kane to handle

Posted by shakarasta on January 29, 2022 at 08:08 AM

Playoff hockey fight at its best ! These teams do not like each other at all. Kane and Reaves were jawing at each other from the bench for 5 minutes after Stone’s hat trick.

Posted by Mounty in NC on January 29, 2022 at 08:08 AM

JustBetter... you are clueless. Kane has played dirty for 4 games now going back to the regular season. Kane sat on the bench and ran his mouth for the last two games. If you really think Haley would stop anything, well, I don't even know what to say to that. And don't complain about the end of the shift as his shift was only about 20 seconds into it. AND it was Kane who dropped the gloves first. Don't sit on the bench and run your mouth and not expect to man up to it!!! Not the best fight, but Kane only landed one single punch. All his other haymakers were off the mark. Reaves landed several solid punches. Easily win for Reaves and a 6

Posted by JustBetterThanAverage on January 29, 2022 at 08:08 AM

Reaves comes out at the end of Kanes shift... then hits Kane with some cheap crosschecks to instigate the fight. Kane stepped up to a much bigger Ryan Reaves and he held his own! Just missed with a big one at the end... I just wanna see Reaves pull that when Haley isn’t in the lockeroom injured

Posted by fourpoints on January 29, 2022 at 08:08 AM

When I saw this fight pop up on the ledger....couldn't wait to watch!! Only a handful of NHL fights all year worth tuning in to and the zebra's stayed out. Entertaining enough with a solid 6. Edge to Reaves but I expect these two to have more bouts next year.
