That is a sad slashing call. He slapped him saying Let's go.

Posted by Jimmy28 on October 03, 2023 at 02:29 PM

McAvoy with the win. Lotta wild haymakers by both but clearly if anyone landed it was Mac. Second time #73 beat up an overly agressicr Blue Jacket, last year it was Dubois.

Bread man can drop the gloves as well as score like he does? Wow that was unexpected from the normally soft euros. He handled himself rather well in this scrap and landed more solid punches, not that either guy is going to become fighter of the year. Very close and from two guys that usually don't drop the gloves. Very entertaining for the lack of experience with these two.

The aggression of McAvoy is what gets him the W. That and the fact that after that dust up, Panarin was doing his best Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer impression.

I think Panarin needs some more mma training!

Posted by fatalhashbrown on October 03, 2023 at 02:29 PM

Loved seeing Panarin drop the gloves. Pretty close fight, but he just didn’t have the reach to connect on those punches. CMac landed one good one, but not enough to call it a “domination”. In the end, Jackets win 7-4 and chase of Rask! Gotta love it.

A little bit of anger in the NHL is good to see. Fans loved it. Teammates loved it and I loved it. Both did well.

Posted by Bruin666 on October 03, 2023 at 02:29 PM

Macavoy kicked that ass. Panera held up nice though for a miniature sized shampoo mascot. More fight in him than i gave him cred for. Good job on both guys.

Posted by slavv on October 03, 2023 at 02:29 PM

The Bruins fans can finally vote that their guy won and it be a justified vote. They’ve been waiting all season for this....

Posted by AZfromNJ on October 03, 2023 at 02:29 PM

Very good fight by 2019 standards. Charlie Mac can throw em, Bread threw a bunch too but caught a few more. Clear win for the Long Island kid.

Posted by hal29 on October 03, 2023 at 02:29 PM

Anyone who sees this a panarin win is nuts. Not a complete domination but Charlie definitely landed the much better punches. Everyone bitches about Jack Edwards. These announcers were just as bad. You would think panarin just took the wbc title.

Posted by TheShipwreck1 on October 03, 2023 at 02:29 PM

Bit of a hug fest, but some good punches were thrown by McAvoy.

Posted by OgdenHemisphere on October 03, 2023 at 02:29 PM

Lots of activity, hands took the worst due to stifling defense by the helmet/face shield combo. Entertaining little draw

Posted by dmatt on October 03, 2023 at 02:29 PM

sionnan easy to put down players that aren't on your team. I can remember a game in Boston in June of 2013 when the Bruins(in full goon mode) tried to beat up a team from Chicago and the fans were delirious until (17 seconds) and game over, Cup to the Hawks. You remember that one?

Posted by skotskipole on October 03, 2023 at 02:29 PM

Both were game but Charlie had the edge with a couple of blows landed more solidly.

Posted by rinkrat38 on October 03, 2023 at 02:29 PM

Give Panarin credit for going, but he can't fight. McAvoy landed 10 to 1.

Posted by nait on October 03, 2023 at 02:29 PM

Refs got the call wrong. It should have been even strength both matching minors

Posted by Lidstr0m on October 03, 2023 at 02:29 PM

76 kg vs 95 kg. Bredman win!!!

Posted by waffleboy on October 03, 2023 at 02:29 PM

McAvoy trying to pump up his bench, Panarin not backing down. This is why you need to keep fighting in the NHL.

Posted by Snideman83 on October 03, 2023 at 02:29 PM

I needed Jack Edwards on the call...that would have been hysterical. And this from a B's fan. Clear win for Charlie.

Posted by Orr Fourever on October 03, 2023 at 02:29 PM

Art got dominated by Charlie. Hey Artemi! Maybe keep your head up crossing the opposition blue line and you wouldn't get clocked and get you're little feeling hurt. #73 with the domination unt win...

Posted by Riverhawk on October 03, 2023 at 02:29 PM

Chubby Charlie, used him as a punching bag

Posted by tpr1960 on October 03, 2023 at 02:29 PM

Two horrible fighters, but this one fired up Columbus, and I hate Torterella, I watch on mute now so I can't comment on maggot-mouth edwards today.

Posted by sionnan on October 03, 2023 at 02:29 PM

Columbus gives a standing ovation when their player gets his face punched out? NICE! Panarin is a gamer, to take a bunch of haymakers. We will take the TKO and see you in the playoffs if Columbus even makes it LOL

Posted by gansett128 on October 03, 2023 at 02:29 PM

McAvoy landed a decent amount of rights and even a few lefts. Panarin one or two connected but that’s about it. How anyone didn’t vote McAvoy with either the win or a draw must not like the Bs.

Posted by Jeffro6666 on October 03, 2023 at 02:29 PM

Good fight, wow panarin can actually fight ! But, edge to McAvoy

Posted by dgeary109 on October 03, 2023 at 02:29 PM

Good lightweight tilt, edge to McAvoy. Where was Panarin’s minor for jumping on his back?

Posted by jerry s on October 03, 2023 at 02:29 PM

nice spirited fight McAvoy landed bit more good job by both

Posted by leon stickle on October 03, 2023 at 02:29 PM

The beauty of this fight is that we did not have to listen to the Bruins feed with Jack Edwards describing it as a clear knockout win for McAvoy.

Posted by hockeyman2019 on October 03, 2023 at 02:29 PM

When I saw who the two combatants were my first thought was: Okay this is gonna be a crap fight. I was prepared to give it a one. I'm impressed. It was way better then I expected

Posted by Robert White on October 03, 2023 at 02:29 PM

I’m glad I saw the slash, not, other than that, Panarin tried to tackle McAvoy up high then The fight. Mac gets the win.

Posted by bigmike53 on October 03, 2023 at 02:29 PM

Nice to see the bread man stick up for himself. That being said, McAvoy wins this spirited tilt.

Posted by Puckstopper30 on October 03, 2023 at 02:29 PM

McAvoy threw more punches and landed more - Panarin looking for a spot that never opened. I give this to McAvoy. All over a clean hit? Panarin loves himself....especially stroking his own hair.

Posted by Jbus03 on October 03, 2023 at 02:29 PM

mcavoy really suprised me, kid could really throw, obviously panarin isn't much of a fighter but never the less

Posted by bdpetroni on October 03, 2023 at 02:29 PM

Panarin should stick to the shampoo commercials and leave the gloves on. He got destroyed in this fight. He's lucky the refs stopped it. All bent of shape over a legal hit at center ice. Keep your head up next time.

Posted by hollidad on October 03, 2023 at 02:29 PM

Some powerful punches with some mean intentions. Had to give this one to McAvoy, but props to Panarin for hanging in there against someone that far out of his weight class.

Posted by Bulldog24 on October 03, 2023 at 02:29 PM

Honestly not bad.

Posted by GreatMurray on October 03, 2023 at 02:29 PM

Gotta give it a draw...I am eternally grateful that I did not have to listen to Edwards call this fight.

Posted by DuderInk666 on October 03, 2023 at 02:29 PM

I thought it was a damn good fight. Even though a B's fan, I'm calling it a draw. Looked like McAvoy got a few better dingers in there, but have to give points, Panarin was chuckin'm too. If McAvoy put him down or Panarin dove, I'd give Charlie the fight, but Artie stood right in there firing away. Great fight, too close to call.

Posted by jawhockey on October 03, 2023 at 02:29 PM

LOL truly a home announcers. Panarin trains MMA fighting bla bla bla. All they can talk about is getting in one punch. WHAT a joke McAvoy was not great BUT land a lot more punches and handled Panarin hands down!

Posted by hubofhockey on October 03, 2023 at 02:29 PM

Chucky can chuck em

Posted by cbecksports on October 03, 2023 at 02:29 PM

The only time they have fought in there NHL career is against each other Twice

Posted by Abner Kravitz on October 03, 2023 at 02:29 PM

Clear win McAvoy. He looks like he has been practicing fighting a little bit.
