F*ck some of you people are shit stupid.....DRAW!

Yeah well all this bs on here made me write this. If you actually do your fighting homework, you will see a fight where McCarty beats Probert in a fight as well as takes on Laraque pretty well. Beats the crap out of Claude Lemieux who isn't exactly a week guy. The last two years have been pretty much a crap-shoot for him yes but to say that he isn't a good fighter is not accurate. Downey is much better these days and would serve the team better for an insurance plan player, McCarty does still have his mind in the game and looks to do more than just scrap and hit. He scored a Stanley Cup winning goal for christ sake. So get your facts together before you write crap on here. I sometimes just write stuff to spite people but I try to make it accurate at least. Have a nice day everyone and keep commenting just do it right.

Why does McCarty seem to be throwing punches in slow motion?

Posted by Behn Wilson on November 03, 2008 at 07:26 AM

Even in his prime, McCarty wasn't exactly Kocur. My Wings haven't had real toughness since Bob became a Black Hawk.

Posted by Juha82 on November 03, 2008 at 01:54 PM

Brown was active but McCarty did well defensively, no winner.

Posted by redwingrocket on November 03, 2008 at 04:54 PM

McCarty's bodyslam secured the draw. Mike Brown had a bad case of turrets syndrome with his crazy quick punches.

Posted by tattooedkingpin on November 03, 2008 at 12:13 AM

sigh...........poor Mac. He just doesnt get it. better than his bout with May, but still only a fragile shell of what he used to be.

Posted by DetroitIan on November 03, 2008 at 12:38 AM

Looked like a draw. Damn I wish Babcock would put Downey in there. Mac was great 7 years ago. But he's just not the same fighter he once was. Aaron Downey is a great scrapper. Hope to see him out there soon.

Draw for sure, Brown can 't hit anything with his air pumps, Mac seems if he forgot how to fight this year...I love the guy since being a detroit fan, who wouldn't but i would say put in downey next time we play a physical team like SJ or ANA.

Posted by mikebflorida on November 03, 2008 at 09:57 AM

Decent scrap, no damage done. Draw.

McCarty is coming off a groin injury that appears to be affecting his ability to plant himself and throw, it was noticable in his fight with Brad May and again tonight. When it fully heals he will back on his game.

Posted by NickTexMex on November 03, 2008 at 10:48 AM

The fight looked more crazy then it was, alot of swings and misses. Would have been a win in Browns Favor if half those punches he through landed. Brown definately through more punches but seeing that non really landed, and McCarty only got like one, I say draw.

hit him with your walker darren!...draw.

Posted by Hell of a TILT on November 03, 2008 at 10:53 AM

Brown throws a lot of punches, but only connects with a few, I give it a draw.

Posted by lilthug3305 on November 05, 2008 at 07:38 PM

McCarty is still a beast. I'm proud to be a red wings fan

Posted by ShuterMcGav on November 04, 2008 at 09:51 AM

I was hoping McCarty's helmet would fall off and he'd crack his head on the ice.

Posted by Bear72 on November 03, 2008 at 08:43 AM

If thats detroits best they are in a world of sh... time to retire old man before you get seriously hurt

Posted by gworrell on November 03, 2008 at 02:29 PM

All McCarty does is try to hug Brown... Seemed as if McCarty was overwhelmed with the flurry of blows thrown by Brown. Not a good fight at all... Brown looked like jr. high kid just swinging with little rabbit punches but all McCarty did was wrestle him... Pretty weak and I think McCarty has lost his muster as a scrapper in the NHL...

Posted by Speedbag61 on November 03, 2008 at 10:42 AM

I do believe D-Mac is near the end of the rope...time to give way to the younger guys...

mike brown with the win

Posted by Gunslinger on November 03, 2008 at 04:44 AM

The camera angles were poor but Brown seemed to get the upper hand over the old vet. Not sure how much damage the punches thrown did, if any actually landed.

Posted by billy jack on November 03, 2008 at 01:43 PM

i would bye mac a beer any time, hes an oldtime hockey player, but over time we get old and beat up,mac always chucked them,he was not a ducker like alot of todays fighters, brashear can fight till hes 60 with his huggy bear style same with peters, steroid goerge well he throws 2 and hauls you to the ice,i mean they are not scrappers in the sence mac was, letting it all hang out, fighting on andrenaline and fear, with a dose of anger..but the time has passed for him.

Posted by SirYohans on November 03, 2008 at 01:53 PM

I was gonna go Draw, but I saw an edge to Brown on 2nd view.

Posted by kalismkkr on November 03, 2008 at 08:06 PM

Not much damage done on either side. Darren should have been able to do much better. Gotta give the nod to Brown.

Posted by Bruins29 on November 03, 2008 at 03:16 PM

Mike Brown threw and landed several more punches in this one. He gets the win. McCarty really has nothing left in the tank. Teams need to expose Detriot's one weakness (toughness) by roughing them up more often.

Posted by mkmsports on November 04, 2008 at 10:14 AM

gave brown the win only because he threw more punches, better effort.

Posted by Ragtop1day on November 03, 2008 at 08:45 AM

Brown did well...McCarty's not there like he used to be.

Posted by cwk on November 03, 2008 at 09:01 AM

Hordichuk took a run at Zetterberg a couple minutes after this fight. With DMac unable to match up against 2nd tier guys, the other team is free to run around.

Posted by gmr133 on November 03, 2008 at 12:48 PM

Brown is busier but doesn't really land anything solid. Pappy McCarty still has the teeth for it--just keeps 'em in a glass at night. Draw.

Posted by brawler03 on November 03, 2008 at 12:41 AM

A little disappointed by Mac since he's made his way back to the Wings. In his prime he was a guy you wouldn't wanna mess with but now... Mike Brown?? Yikes! We want Downey!

Posted by IrishFiveO on November 03, 2008 at 08:05 AM

Nobody was Kocur Mr. wilson. Draw

Posted by chelios247 on November 03, 2008 at 10:40 AM

Behn Wilson's right. the wings havent had a real tough guy since Probert left but Mcarty did well against hockey players but could nerver fight a real fighter. to his credit McCarty is a real hockey player and will be remembered as such.

Posted by chad420 on November 06, 2008 at 05:25 PM

MB landed more, way more active for a win

Posted by tomales on November 03, 2008 at 02:01 AM

I have a lot of respect for McCarty. He used to be a force, but his fighting days are over. I sure wish the Wings would bring up someone to take this load off of his shoulders.

Posted by dfergin on November 03, 2008 at 01:07 PM

Coming from a Wings fan...Even in his best days, McCarty wasn't the best fighter. He needs to hang 'em up. Bring in least he's young and has no fear.

Posted by tigsmaw on November 03, 2008 at 03:46 AM

how the hell do you call this a draw. Mike Brown spanked Mac

Posted by hckyplyr20 on November 03, 2008 at 05:37 PM

Brown gets the win only because McCarty just tried to wrestle him to the ground and didnt even try to get any punches in

Posted by TBLightningGuru on November 09, 2008 at 04:36 PM

Mike Brown is one of the most underrated fighters in the league. not a real big guy but really exciting T2T style fighter. He's fun to watch
