Chorney decides to take on Nick "The Sledgehammer" Bonino. Chorney's helmet has other plans though, and heads for the men's room as soon as it sees who's going to be punching it. Bonino lands a monster right to the shoulder of Chorney, knocking him clean off his feet. Luckily for Chorney that didn't connect with his head, otherwise it may have decapitated him! Bonino ends with the rarely used standing lapel choke!
You don't see a crushing blow to the left shoulder like Bonobo handed out very often..... What the hell was that?
A couple on NHL fight newbies share this extravagant moment together while hockey & fight fans sit and reflect on what has happened to the recent Pens/Caps rivalries of yesteryear
Much sound and fury signifying nothing
both guys got their 1st nhl fight if we dont count chorney's pre-season fight years ago it was a good fight but it seems like they didnt land anything.draw...bonino isnt as shirt as i thought
Draw!Straight up!
These are fights. Anger was in both of their eyes
Chorney's helmet may have come off, but I think he got the win by a little bit -- and that is not counting the hits and cross-checks before the fight started. Stegie -- I miss you man!
Man, the idiot announcers were really trying to sell this as a good fight. Was all intention, no connection. Move along, move along.
Caps fans voted for Chorney, I'm giving the nod to Bonino for the knockdown, shoulder shot or not. WIN Bonino. The shot had enough umph on it to put Chorney on his wallet. Corney was throwing them but doubt he connected with any.
Bonino definately won the fight
Chorney with the decision
1 punch landed by Chorney so he gets the win...frenetic but mostly just wasted energy
After a couple of consecutively cheap crosschecks not to mention a decent uppercut or two... Bonino has had enough... and without the aid of an optometrist he proceeds to launch into the most vicious "left shoulder assault" seen in years
Considering these are two non-– fighters, an entertaining bout. Chorney was the winner.
Both first ever fights for each, Chorney the better punches that landed gives him the edge
Nice quick scrap and a narrow win for Chorney.
Chorine got a good lick in and Bonino punched him in the shoulder. T dog won this one
Chorney was the only one who landed anything. Props to Bonino for holding his ground but Chorney wins this one.
Given it was a Hens home game Im surprised Chorney didnt get a misconduct and a meeting in New Yourk for minor contact (:D) Good for Chorney, needs a few lessons though. . . .looks like Wilson and the rest have the Hens scared this year that Chorneys the only one they'll go after :D
Chorney by a hair (thanks, Root, for the super-mo). Sure he went down first, but he took Bonino down with him and got the better blows. He's also lucky he didn't get an extra two for the crosschecks he laid on Bonino before they Bonino said, "Let's go," and Chorney said, "Okay."
Chorney caught him with a good uppercut, Bonino only punched Taylor's shoulder.
Win Bonino.
Bonino ate a big knuckle sandwich, and thanked Chorney with a big pat on the back..
Draw.
This is about as entertaining as a crappy fight can be. The reason is the awesome slow motion replay. The Chorney uppercut sort of landed and if the other punches had someone would be on their back on the ice. Great energy with weak results. Still they get an A for effort.
Not sure how Chorney didn't get 2 for roughing or cross checking..... Close fight so I give it a draw. How do you say a fight is so close one might have won by a hair.... Why wouldn't you give it a draw???
Lots of anger here. Toss a coin for the winner, I'd think Chorney took it by a hair.
In live action I thought Bonino looked better. In slow motion, I give it to Chorney.
Chorny landed the best shot of this spirited tilt.
From the naked eye it looked like Bonino landed a big punch that rocked Chorney, ...but after seeing the replay it was a glancing blow to the shoulder pad. Win Chorney, for the only significant punches landed in the fight, but good for Bonino for going at the guy after all that cross checking crap. Chorney should have gotten an additional penalty for the stick work. I f'ing love hockey.
Bonino with the clear win. Not close.
