Good sportsmanship by Matt Martin for not killing this guy when he was defenseless. Not too sure why people keep trying Martin. The guy has yet to lose a fight this year and always throws with bad intentions, as Strachan finds out. In a way, this fight was arguably a TKO, as Strachan was unable to continue. Refs were smart to save him.

The Big right from Big Matt gets the win - nice bomb. Great flow too

Great sportsmanship by Martin as usual.

Not much happening aside from Martin controlling the pace and that one right hook to the forehead slash helmet But the real highlight here is being able to see the all too rare sight of two "visorless" warriors (however uneventfully) trying to go at it

Throw Stinger7, Behn Wilson and king of goons responses in a blender mix it with a little bit of raspberry puree or if ur on a student budget like me, some ramen noodles and you nailed it right on the head...

win for martin, but he didn't kill the guy, lets be serious people! Martin would look good in a ranger jersey though!

Man Martin has class. Gets the W here.

You knew it as soon as you saw the names: M2 just pulverized Strachan. Today Strachan will be skating in practice with a piece of tenderized steak covering his left eye.

Good ole Windsor boy with the Dub.

Nice pop from Martin ends this bout!

wonder how this would have gone had he connected on the wild right that missed. and paid all MARTIN

Posted by big_blue on February 04, 2014 at 10:27 PM

Only one punch of consequence and that was Martin's. And good for Martin for not launching that last one...

Matt Martin hits hard folks too bad this one didn't get going

I'm getting very sick of these refs coming in too early. Bettman is making a joke out of fighting and the NHL. He needs to stop worrying about injuries. These players know what they're getting into every time they play, let them go for as long as possible and get rid of visor rules. This league gets worse and worse every year.

I thought the punch caught helmet more than anything. I'm surprised it opened up Strachan.

Posted by TheodoreRex on February 04, 2014 at 10:36 PM

Strachan is a waste of roster space. send him back to the A and let him get beat up there. For a guy who fights often you think he would learn how.

Good tussle with Martin landing the telling blow. Matt Martin just goes out with attitude and wins fights! Strachan is game but overmatched here. Martin with the nod again.

One crack Matt takes it with the kaboom to the head.

falcon punch!

M&M all day, love this guy, plays hard and responsibly, doesn't back down and fights fair. Heard that he might be leaving the island, any team that snags him will instantly be improved.

Bang nice right by Martin..wn Martin

Posted by graynor1 on February 05, 2014 at 06:07 AM

If you watched the video, you'll know there is no debate here. MM with the big win

Posted by jimmat on February 04, 2014 at 09:53 PM

Martin with the win for landing the only punch. Cut caused by the helmet I think.

Posted by francoisleroux on February 07, 2014 at 07:30 PM

Strachan was down before you could say kombat... or at least finish saying it. What kind of image is Washington trying to generate playing the mortal kombat theme? expecting Strachan to rip martin's still-beating heart out??

Posted by Humper on February 05, 2014 at 12:26 AM

Martin being Martin.

Allday M&M

Martin opened a cut above Strachan's left eye. Strachan is not a great fighter, not sure why he keeps trying -- especially when the puck is in your offensive zone

Posted by Biggus on February 05, 2014 at 11:04 AM

Martin gets in a pretty good right that looks like it got helmet until you see Strachan leaking in the box.

Posted by pvdrummer2000 on February 05, 2014 at 01:30 AM

Martin hammered Strachan with a bomb to the brow!

Posted by FDNY20192 on February 06, 2014 at 10:17 AM

Nod to the Hitman! Love me sum Matty Martin!

Posted by cob1963 on February 05, 2014 at 05:15 AM

Could've been a good fight if both the boys stood up for a minute.

Posted by CairnsNYI33 on February 04, 2014 at 11:21 PM

Martins one punch draws blood brings Strachan to his knees. TKO Martin in barely what can be called a fight.

Posted by Great Murray on February 05, 2014 at 08:31 AM

Martin lands one and Strachen goes down bleeding.

Posted by rocky 1 on February 05, 2014 at 10:53 AM

Martin landing the only good punch here for the win! Is Martin a legit heavy or is he just a good light heavy? When i look at his fighting resume he has fought some middle of the road light heavies like Tanner Glass, but i do not see any legit heavies at all.I do not see guys like Orr,.McGratton,,Bordaleau,.Gazdic,Scott etc.Could he stand in there with any of these guys or does he pick his oppenents carefully building a tough guy rep, on a list of nobodies!
