After flattening Kaleta in a shoulder to shoulder competition... ...the "great Dane" takes one too many overconfident crosschecks only to find out the hard way that A) Kaleta is a lefty And B) that he can really throw them... when frightened

Posted by Tocchet_fan on April 13, 2013 at 03:55 PM

If Kaleta wants to continue this way, he must lose that windshield.

Posted by pvdrummer2000 on April 14, 2013 at 12:58 AM

Impressive showing by Kaleta. He was really pounding the $hit out of Lauridsen.

Posted by Snoka on April 13, 2013 at 04:11 PM

Lauridsen asked for it by continuing with the cross checks and Kaleta delivered the @ss whoopin! Who is the homo who voted for Lauridsen?

Full disclosure - Sabres Fan That being said, most of anti-Kaleta comments are false. If you hate Kaleta bc of the way he plays (takes runs at people). That's fair. I didn't even like him earlier in his career and I'm a huge Sabres fan. 1. Saying he never fights - FALSE. He doesn't fight after every hit, but name one player who does? 2. Saying he never wins fights - FALSE - look at his fight log. Gregory Campbell, Derek Dorsett, & now Lauridson have been severe beatdowns. & according to the log he wins at least 50% of fights. 3. Referencing fights vs Lucic & Colton Orr... Lucic was a clear loss. He was over-matched, end of story. Orr wasn't a fight it was a jumping. Orr passed up on Scott & ran down Kaleta. Orr shouldn't be going after smaller players, but hey do what you want. 4. Saying he should lose the visor: 73% of the NHL wears visors. Kaleta has never claimed to be a fighter, he fights when needed/wants to. This isn't the 1970's, players wear visors to protect their vision. Look at Marc Staal. 5. Saying he should fight more to be accountable for the big hits he dishes out. Again, it's not the 70's. Much to the chagrin of people who frequent this site, there just isn't a fight after every hit. And If his hits are illegal or over the line why isn't he penalized or suspended more? I am in full agreement if you think he's a RAT, HE IS. I would hate him if I were a fan of any other team than the Sabres. But let's be objective about his fighting skills which for his weight class are above average. ...and now I get killed with a million comments. Bring it!

Great to see lauridsen pick and fight and then get the crap beat out of him

Posted by loochfan17 on April 13, 2013 at 05:50 PM

good to see kaleta finally answering the bell after one of his big collisions but this lauridsen kid looks like this was hist first game outside of sweden. lauridsen's sucking is the story here.

Posted by jayj06 on April 13, 2013 at 04:24 PM

did i hear the announcer say kaleta is one of the better fighters in the nhl?

Posted by Jdaman75 on April 13, 2013 at 05:22 PM

Win the scrub

Posted by evolutionrules on April 14, 2013 at 01:08 AM

i hate kaleta but he won easy. hey Snoka, lose the homophobic slurs. it's 2013.

Posted by srehm1 on April 15, 2013 at 09:43 AM

Kaleta just feeds Lauridsen with lefts.

Posted by staceyb on April 15, 2013 at 04:22 PM

Lauridsen was hardly the Lord of Discipline with that pathetic display. Kaleta and Orr have been matching bookends agitating the Flyers all afternoon, including a roughing call on Lauridsen for shoving down Ott, who acted like he was shot.

Posted by fernben8 on April 15, 2013 at 12:31 AM

Kaleta gets off to a fast start and it was over before Lauridson ever knew what happened ... Nice showboating by Kaleta (again). ...and you wonder why he's so popular ?

Posted by sixclocks on April 15, 2013 at 07:19 AM

broad street bully he is not

Posted by The Mad House on April 13, 2013 at 04:58 PM

Kaleta gets hammered behind the net by the BIG newcomer from Denmark, and Kaleta does not like it. Kaleta then proceeds to hammer the living crap out of Lauridsen while giving up about 5 inches.

Posted by cible on April 13, 2013 at 05:07 PM

Lauridsen just won the belt for the new worst fighter in the league congrats!

Posted by Noledad77 on April 16, 2013 at 01:36 PM

5 for fighting (both) 5 for receiving (Lauridsen). Get a grip dude! Gotta show up better than that (or at all).

Posted by canamrugby on April 13, 2013 at 08:51 PM

Wow is Kaleta is one tough SOB: visor? check. Lousy opponent? check. Equals Kaleta is a douche bag.

Posted by ETR on April 13, 2013 at 04:43 PM

Kaleta left hooked him to the deck.

Posted by Icanstillgo on April 13, 2013 at 11:04 PM

Love to see a Flyer get dominated even if it is by Kaleta.

Posted by glovedropper08 on April 15, 2013 at 11:00 AM

Kaleta can fight when he gets that left hand going. Easy win as he pounds a guy who is about a half a foot taller than he is. Win: Kaleta

Posted by hughcares on April 14, 2013 at 08:24 PM

This must expalin the glow that was coming across lake Ontario last night - the Buffalo fans were burning Tonawanda in celebration of Kumleta winning a fight.

Posted by knuckleballs on April 14, 2013 at 02:46 AM

Kaleta plays with HEART!!!! rarely does he instigate!!!!! his game is checking!!!! and when challenged,,,,,, beats the crap out of challengers. to me he is the guy you hate ONLY when he is not on your team! and I'm happy he's on my team!!!!!! who's next???

Posted by GreatMurray on April 14, 2013 at 11:30 AM

Kaleta took it to the rookie. No surprise really.

Posted by sieurs on April 13, 2013 at 06:50 PM

6.6' 220ishhh... Lauridsen. Get ready big boy when you droped them !! Kaleta just teach him good. Hate to admit it but he did.

Posted by sabresfan9715 on April 13, 2013 at 11:48 PM

Booom Kaleta was throwing some haymakers!!!

Posted by King of Goons on April 14, 2013 at 05:00 PM

Lauridson starts it and Kaleta finishes it ...with authority. TKO for Kaleta over A$$lord, who gets welcomed to the NHL with a brutal beating. What ever happened to the "Broad Street Bullies"? This Flyer team is softer than a babies a$$. Flyers have mailed it in this year in every department and are playing like disgraceful, gutless organization right now. And where's that ridiculous little [email protected] Rinaldo when you need him? Ha, ha, ha!

Posted by fightfan24 on April 13, 2013 at 08:46 PM

clear winner to Kaleta

Posted by DARCY T on April 14, 2013 at 03:32 PM

lauridsen didnt like the hit and got himself into his 1st nhl fight.kaleta used his fast hands against lauridsen's size and got the win over this big kid i've never heard of...gave it a 7

Posted by FlyersFan204 on April 13, 2013 at 04:09 PM

Lauidsen is a rookie and he has only played 8 games. I'll bet Kaleta couldnt beat Lauidsen again but for this one, win Kaleta.

Posted by jpstuhr on April 13, 2013 at 03:53 PM

Rookie

Posted by dropem99 on April 13, 2013 at 04:16 PM

All Kaleta - Lauridsen a big body that can't fight. The kind of player the Flyers like.

Posted by center27 on April 14, 2013 at 06:43 PM

Never heard of Lauridsen and I hate hate the Flyers but was cheering for him like a maniac anyway. How is Kaleta still alive? He's got the balls to wipe his hands like he accomplished something worthy but hides from anyone with an experience. A true pussy and a retard.

Posted by flyerfighter73 on April 13, 2013 at 05:54 PM

To lose to somebody like Kaleta that bad is flat out disgraceful. I' m a little embarrassed about being a die hard Flyers fan.So ashamed. No Flyer should be pounded by Kaleta.Period! Ugh! Ready to vomit!

Posted by boldbilly on April 14, 2013 at 11:43 AM

Puketric Kaletta with the win somehow..........if ever there was a person more deserved of a good beating it is Special K . What a loser.

Posted by one smack on April 14, 2013 at 11:00 AM

Typical Kaleta picking his spots some 6'6 guy named Oliver from Denmark and has never had a nhl fight!!!!! Kaleta is a joke! anyone see Orr grab the little puke a few weeks back? shows his real colors...

Posted by bobowen34 on April 14, 2013 at 08:53 PM

Kaleta with the beat down.

Posted by grocerystick on April 13, 2013 at 05:00 PM

Kaleta did a lot better here than he usually does against guys who know how to fight. A big time beat down but be a man and lose the windshield...

Posted by herewego on April 13, 2013 at 07:01 PM

Pit Bull mauls Great Dane.....about as one-sided a fight as you'll ever see. Kaleta with the W and a one point deduction for his classless breach of etiquette on his way to the sin bin!

Posted by Oswegofightfan on April 13, 2013 at 04:07 PM

Um... Well when u put an elbow up like a puss to avoid a clean hit. Then cross check the guy while he is down. He should jump up n pound the crap out of you. 9-0 punches easy win for Kaketa.

Posted by mike hartman on April 15, 2013 at 01:38 PM

all kaleta.

Posted by quannumkid on April 13, 2013 at 03:51 PM

Lauridsen starts it, but Kaleta finishes it with ease. Kaleta one of the better fighters? Not exactly, but nice attempt to ease the defeat of Lauridsen. Hilarious to hear them knock his "showboating".

Posted by pinney29 on April 15, 2013 at 11:04 AM

Nice job by Pat.. Kaleta is under estimated as a fighter.. and as for the visor, seeing how he really didn't have time to take his helment off, i don't see why there is a need to complain. Easy win for Kaleta as he pounds another philadelphia wanna be tough guy.

Posted by jnk07899 on April 14, 2013 at 11:29 AM

That dude is twice Kaleta's size and Patty just manhandled him. That a boy Kaleta. Win.

Posted by woolly mammoth on April 13, 2013 at 03:58 PM

Kaleta dominated.

Posted by john-ny on April 13, 2013 at 09:34 PM

Kaleta threw so many lefts Lauridsen begged for a right. Kaleta is starting to get the knack for this, maybe Scott and Ott gave him a few lessons. Colton Orr couldn't hurt him a few weeks ago maybe boosting his spirt. Sabres should have played like this a month ago.

Posted by 434sabers on April 14, 2013 at 09:08 AM

huge win kaleta, startiing to back up his hitting im impressed.

Posted by Diablo69 on April 14, 2013 at 07:40 AM

Clear win for Kaleta, a domination however... How can you be a scraper wearing a windshield as some say here??? Kaleta was ready fron te start and stole a page out of Brown's book. Was he afraid for his life after losing his helmet???

Posted by "LUXURIOUS" ROD on April 18, 2013 at 12:46 PM

Kaleta wins. Easily. good show buy Kaleta. Might be better than I thought.

Posted by Tailinphee on April 13, 2013 at 03:57 PM

PK 36 trying to rile up a dismal Sabres roster. Easy W Kaleta.

Posted by timster1223 on April 13, 2013 at 09:11 PM

Otto maddock sorry to hurt your feeling's but the douch bag Sabres kicked the Flyers ass all around the rink!

Posted by wyldthing on April 13, 2013 at 04:54 PM

Total domination for Kaleta, can't believe someone vote for Lauridsen !!

Posted by msktmj on April 14, 2013 at 05:32 PM

kaleta with the win. flyers have no fighter.rosehill looked away from scott couple times. have fun with golf flyers

Posted by keepermike1949 on September 15, 2013 at 10:44 PM

Kaleta kicked his ass he'll think next time before throwing those crosschecks. To those attacking the windshield notice in the beginning of the fight he takes his helmet off... the shield is to protect him blocking shots (which he does endlessly). I dont wear one but if it makes him more comfortable and therefore a better player especially doing his magic on the PK then by all means!

Posted by gtmow00 on April 15, 2013 at 12:53 PM

Any time a Philthy player gets a beat down, it's a good fight to me.

Posted by Homer68213 on April 19, 2013 at 02:41 PM

lol @ PHI commentators on a national game. They're just trying to lighten the PHL fans because Lauridsen got his butt kicked.

Posted by jtl6713 on April 13, 2013 at 04:01 PM

Not sure why Lauridsen had to chop him after the hit. He actually made Kaleta look foolish by pushing him aside when Kaleta tried for the big hit. Unfortunately Lauridsen got white washed with 11 consecutive lefts. I liked the dust off of the hands. Don't care what anyone says Kalets is great. Any team would love to have him....

Posted by Sabresfan6752 on April 13, 2013 at 04:32 PM

How could anyone vote that Lauridsen won this fight?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Posted by smokee68 on April 13, 2013 at 09:00 PM

Kaleta BOMBED on dude

Posted by samtheman on April 13, 2013 at 06:55 PM

Lauridsen should think twice next time he thinks of dropping the gloves. He was totally overmatched in this one.

Posted by anthrojim on April 15, 2013 at 09:10 AM

Announcer is an idiot... "I don't like all that showboating going to the box" Anyone the voted for Lauridsen should be banned from this site because they are just fanboys, not fans of the fight.

Posted by SouthPaw017 on April 15, 2013 at 01:35 AM

Connie Kaleta goes southpaw and Oliver eats a bunch... Welcome to the NHL....

Posted by the_bro on April 14, 2013 at 05:08 PM

Yes, Kaleta beat the crap out of Lauridsen, but he is not "one of the better fighters in the NHL" ... stupid commentator.

Posted by chad420 on April 16, 2013 at 09:50 AM

Allday PK

Posted by Big_Fat_Dan on April 14, 2013 at 06:34 AM

All Kaleta, what a idiot, I see McGrattan get a misconduct for playing to the crowd, gah!

Posted by FHgrad99 on April 15, 2013 at 06:44 PM

I give Lauridsen credit for standing up for himself but he paid the price big time. Kaleta was throwing them fast and furious here.

Posted by kkdowning on April 14, 2013 at 06:36 PM

Kaleta won a fight? Really? Yup, he throws some lefts for a big win

Posted by LouCat40 on April 13, 2013 at 04:19 PM

It amazes me how many guys pick fights with Kaleta without having any idea that he's left-handed. Absolute beat down by Patty who in my opinion can celebrate all he wants after pounding the crap out of a guy who is easily half a foot taller.

Posted by ctuck239 on April 14, 2013 at 12:55 PM

I love that Lauridsen started it, but kept pushing his luck til Kaleta just pummeled the shit out of him

Posted by web1350 on April 13, 2013 at 04:14 PM

Kaleta made quick work of a much, much bigger Lauridsen who probably has no business being in the NHL but with a$$h0le Holmgren being the GM, what do you expect? His acquisition and playing Rosehill just another example of his goon mentality. He couldn't play hockey and neither can his goons. He needs to concentrate on dressing talented players, not ones suited for the WBA. He should've been fired two years ago and definitely after the Bryzgalov signing. BTW, it's Laviolette's time to go too. This is his 4th year and the past several Flyers coaches didn't last more than that.

Posted by nutz99 on April 13, 2013 at 04:54 PM

Kaleta easy win. Kaleta is easily one of the best fighters in the league, in his weight class. He's no heavyweight but man he can chuck em. Put him against any middleweight guy in the league & he does very well.

Posted by sedinfan on April 13, 2013 at 10:11 PM

When you get beat up that bad by Kaleta, you shouldn't be fighting anyone.

Posted by Jellyczar on April 13, 2013 at 05:06 PM

I guess u have to give it to Kaleta. Was he punching or slapping? His antics after the fight were weird. He is no tough guy and the Sabres won't make the playoffs. goofy little smurf....

Posted by bajo39 on April 14, 2013 at 08:41 AM

Draw. I don't care, I'm not voting for Kaleta. Where was Rosehill to answer Scott, Flyers fans? You guys have one of the very worst spot-picking teams in the league.

Posted by Oil Can Henry on April 13, 2013 at 04:28 PM

...I guess this answers the trivia question -- "Who's the ONLY player in the NHL Patrick Kaleta can actually whip"?.......

Posted by Otto_maddux on April 13, 2013 at 04:22 PM

the showboating IS garbage but then so is every sabre anyway. win douchebag.
