I don't think I've seen Volpatti win a fight yet. God bless him he keeps trying but at this point he looks like he inherited Todd Fedoruk's glass jaw. Win Peluso

Peluso with the big win.

Posted by mike563 on March 03, 2013 at 07:24 PM

ouch i felted them hits

Posted by nuckles88 on March 02, 2013 at 06:50 PM

Good to see patti showing up for his new team. Rare loss for a scrappy middleweight that's always willing to take on bigger guys. Gonna miss him in Vancouver!

Posted by staceyb on March 03, 2013 at 06:57 AM

Oh my. V-pat got pummeled by Peluso.

Posted by rocky 1 on March 03, 2013 at 07:59 PM

Oh shit i picked on the wrong guy and he beat the crap out of me!Win easily Peluso.

Posted by Caps44 on April 01, 2013 at 05:07 AM

Volpatti started ok, but finished by surrendering. Peluso gave him a chance before taking charge. When it was clear that Volpatti was through, Peluso stopped the punishment. Clear win for WINN.

Chip off the ole block took this one easily!!

Posted by bammer24 on March 02, 2013 at 06:50 PM

I`m quite certain the Washington fans are very excited to have Volpatti in there lineup now.Win Peluso.

Posted by 35tony on March 02, 2013 at 07:08 PM

Peluso had it from the get go. Volpatti was out of his league with this one.

Posted by slshbleed on March 04, 2013 at 08:17 PM

So far so good for Peluso. He beat a nut job with a cement head in Barch (which is what you want from a guy like Barch- long live Barch). Volpatti is willing but not overly legit. Time to test the deeper waters.

Posted by Behn Wilson on March 03, 2013 at 02:02 AM

Volpatti admirably tries and ultimately fails to impress his new team as Peluso starts to look more and more like the second coming of Engelland

Posted by canada bomber on March 04, 2013 at 09:26 PM

jersey rip helped peluso a lot. not like he needed it though. big punches from a big boy leave big bruises. volpatti will deffinately be hurting.

Once a canuck always a canuck.

I like the look on Peluso's face as they engaged... He had a look of calmness and confidence on his face, Had an excellent grip on Volpatti and knew Aaron couldn't and wasn't going anywhere soon. (Krys Barch should take note) Peluso is starting to look like the real thing. I also like the way Peluso stopped punching when he sensed Volpatti was in trouble. (Zac Rinaldo should take note)

Posted by sedinfan on March 02, 2013 at 08:18 PM

Peluso tunes in an ex Canuck, not sure why Washington wanted Volpatti.

Posted by GreatMurray on March 03, 2013 at 08:22 AM

Volpatti opened a can of whoopass and it exploded in his face.

Posted by DarkDisciple on March 03, 2013 at 01:31 PM

Peluso is a top level enforcer no doubt about it! However beating up an ex-canuck punching bag like Volpatti hardly proves anything. I want to See how well Peluso can do against the likes of Scott, Orr, McClaren, Parros etc

Posted by DirtyGunz8 on March 04, 2013 at 05:02 PM

Volpatti got two good shots in the beginning, then it was all downhill

Posted by The Mad House on March 02, 2013 at 05:36 PM

I love that Peluso is up in the big leagues, kid is a great fighter. He pounds Volpatti here. He will be a good one, and has some good competition to fight against in the East.

Posted by DARCY T on March 05, 2013 at 05:02 AM

volpatti started very well against guy who is class weight above and landed some nasty shots but then peluso probably caught him with one of his rights and volpatti bailed peluso

Posted by von_swine on March 02, 2013 at 11:13 PM

Peluso lookin FO REAL so far,..only 2 bouts in, but he's owned both dudes,..he gets those upper cuts in and cranks those hooks really hard when he's got a funny if the Caps put Aaron on waivers after this game/fight, lol...(well, not for him) #14 FTW. bonus points for NO visors in this one too,..

Posted by kkdowning on March 03, 2013 at 12:21 PM

All Peluso, but good for Volpatti for stepping up -- he should have picked Thorburn or Stuart. Other than Erskine, Volpatti is the only Cap that can fight -- but he is not a heavyweight like Peluso. In a way Peluso lost the war, because he apparently got hurt (probably his hand on the helmet) in this

Posted by shawn46 on March 04, 2013 at 12:57 PM

Volpatti brought in to use his face so Hendricks didn't need hand transplants... mission accomplished

Posted by Ed Van Impe on March 03, 2013 at 07:46 AM

a good ole' fashioned azzzz whuppin'

Posted by chad420 on March 04, 2013 at 12:23 PM

win Mikey Jr...decent bout

Posted by blackngold on March 02, 2013 at 10:01 PM

Volpatti was WAY out of his league fighting a bruiser like Peluso. All this was was Volpatti trying to make an impression in front of his new teammates and new coach. It didn't go well for him.

Posted by pvdrummer2000 on March 02, 2013 at 06:33 PM

Both guys threw some bombs, but Peluso hammered Volpatti at the end.

Posted by puckeater8 on March 02, 2013 at 08:01 PM

How the hell is the standings currently saying 15% for Volpatti? Which fight did you watch? Peluso absolutely dominates this fight

Posted by bluesrule on March 03, 2013 at 04:02 PM

why would the blues give this beast up

Posted by woolly mammoth on March 02, 2013 at 06:00 PM

Does anyone, who voted for Volpatti, want to or care to explain his/her reasoning for Volpatti winning?

Posted by budsfan4 on March 03, 2013 at 08:35 AM

Caps now have 2 punching bags Hendricks is probably saying i am only going to get filled in 1/2 as oftendominating win by the much bigger Peluso

Posted by cible on March 02, 2013 at 05:34 PM

Man i wish mtl would have claimed him off waivers...the heavy the team desperatly needs!!!!Easy win for Peluso but i give credit to volpatti cause this kid goes after anyone and fights to win instead of fighting safely to minimal the beating!!!!

Posted by capsfan33 on March 03, 2013 at 02:40 PM

Volpatti givn up alotta weight to a hw.... At least.he dropped em...

Posted by devilsadvocate on March 03, 2013 at 08:18 PM

Well, Volpatti took a beating here...even worse than the one he took from Murray. But I disagree with what someone said about him being a punching bag, and that he has a glass jaw. He's neither one of those things. He can throw them, and he can take a punch. The kid is as tough as nail. It's just that he keeps taking on someone at least one full weight class about him. I still say overall, Vancouver downgraded when they lost Volpatti and got Sestito. Sestito is not an elite heavyweight, and come playoff time the only ice he'll see is the ones in his drink.

ass kicking

Posted by darthpauly on March 03, 2013 at 06:39 PM

Once again Peluso sent a message with his second NHL fight. No question this guy is the real deal. I guess the guys who voted for v-patti are taking the fact that he broke Peluso's hand during the bout into account. Unfortunately v-patti did it with his face.

Posted by sieurs on March 03, 2013 at 05:12 AM

Just too strong !! Peluso with the W

Posted by OLDJETFAN on March 21, 2013 at 07:04 PM

total domination by peluso

Posted by AlbertHall on March 03, 2013 at 10:12 AM

While it is true that Peluso landed the much more effective blows, props to Volpatti for breaking Peluso's hand with his head! I give the win, therefore, to Volpatti...

Peluso looking good.

Posted by legend22 on March 03, 2013 at 10:36 AM

Even Volpati's Mom wouldnt vote for him in this fight

Posted by Crazy_Canuck on April 02, 2013 at 03:57 PM

"I don't think I've seen Volpatti win a fight yet. God bless him he keeps trying but at this point he looks like he inherited Todd Fedoruk's glass jaw. Win Peluso" You don't watch too many Volpatti fights then.

Posted by SouthPaw017 on March 03, 2013 at 02:57 AM

Peluso looks heavy handed and throws with reckless abandon... He took a dump on ThePatti...

Posted by Joceron on March 02, 2013 at 04:57 PM

Mike Peluso he is not. This cat will be top 5 by end of season. 6

Posted by mcb798 on March 02, 2013 at 04:25 PM

BIG MIKE PELUSO gave volpatti a serious whoopin in this scrap.

Posted by abax44 on March 02, 2013 at 04:10 PM

Peluso dominated.

Posted by born to rage on March 02, 2013 at 04:25 PM

Christ, isn't that Hendricks's, Beagle's, Chimera's role?
